He sees it in goshiki and he knows goshiki is on the right path and is probably harshest on himself that he doesn’t need to give further instruction or criticism. Goshiki acts big and puts on airs but he’s so sweet and insecure inside. He’s the little one of the team and I love how his ‘unreadable and cold’ senpais are, after all the scolding and the bickering, so protective of him. Anyway, cracking his shell is easy and there’s always like a sense of warmth surrounding him! Plus, he grew into a fine young man and athlete...I’m so happy for him, he deserves the world! 😍

My favorite aspect of Haikyuu is that the action, tension, and drama are so exceptionally high, yet there are no villians. You can only call the other team "antagonists" purely by the actual definition that they are against the protagonist, but by no means can you say any of them so far have been bad people; the closest you will get is the mischievousness of players like Oikawa and Miya and that is still miles away from what anyone could consider an evil character.
facts! i also don’t consider anyone as an evil character because yknow, it’s just their personality or maybe defense mechanism to strengthen their mentality because it’s one of the most important thing of being a player. and of course they’re only playing as an opponent or “bad guy” because we see them as arrogant (like towada, oikawa, atsumu, etc.) but the truth is *no one plays just to lose* like what that one haikyuu character said (i forgot who). you can’t just hate anyone because they all worked hard to earn their spot and play against everyone and they literally all share the same goal which is to be the champion.
i love goshiki, so underrated. and the fact that the mangaka is able to write characters so well even with minimal screentime shows what a genius he is
This simple moment is the reason why Goshiki ended up as a professional player for the japanese 1st division. After putting the rivalry aside and acknowledging that he has a lot to improve, he deserved the right to become a great player by the end of the story.
I love how Ushiwaka gives out pointers for the team which only proves that even though he's silent, he closely observes (makes him an amazing captain and ace 😭) and yes, Goshiki deserves the world
It must be so cool to have a leader/teammate like Ushijima. He literally took the time to observe everyone and gave them feedback on what they can improve on! and so happy for Goshiki for getting some praise, especially since it comes from Ushijima (whom he aspires to be, the Ace)

Both this ova and the one from the perspective of aoba johsai are really good. It's a pity that these kind of scenes are just shown at the end and aren't much longer but with just this much they can convey such a powerful message and add even more wholesomeness to this show.

I just realised that after Tendou said "how are you going to lead the team like that?" It cut to Ushijima looking at Goshiki and I can't stop thinking about it
Goshiki living a fanboy life, being counting on by your role model must be the proudest moment of your life. Also he doesn't take an ace role as something to brag over, he take it seriously as he always look at Ushijima and the way he carried the important role for a long time, he knew how serious Ushijima being an ace and he want to be like him, he already feel a burden and also an excitement.
This is why you can't hate anyone in Haikyuu. Yes, they are playing against Karasuno and you root for them to win. But you learn to love everyone on the other team as well.
