The ending of this book is still one of the most clever and subtly creepy twists in Goosebumps. Especially since it could be read as either the flower being the real father OR the flower THINKING it's her father, and I'm not sure which is scarier. And the story in general is good. I love your reviews, great job guys! Don't get too drunk guys!
I think this book deserved a higher rating. I really couldn't put my finger on it, but something about this book was genuinely unsettling to me through the entirety of the book. Maybe it was the fact that the "father" was the bad guy, or the fact that everything bad was happening in the characters' own house, but I was genuinely scared. I found the plot to be very intriguing as well as scary.
The temperature should be cranked in that room more often... Just discovered this series tonight by stumbling onto the Haunted Mask episode. After finishing it and finding it entertaining, I decided to stick with you guys and watch from the beginning, making this my third episode of yours. Having a blast so far!
So what I like about these guys is I get the same feeling as Red Letter Media. In the sense that they are a bunch of real friends. The way he reacted when he saw how the thing hit him in the eye shows that he cares. It's really cool and refreshing to see people just being Bros.
I don't recall if I've seen this episode, which is weird because this was my favorite Goosebumps book. It was kind of fun to go back to an earlier episode and see how things had changed.
The weed killer ending doesn’t make sense it wouldn’t do anything to the dad thats real so whoever she sprays the only one that going to die is the plant dad
Anyway, I was lucky enough to buy a Monster Edition#1 (A compilation of Goosebumps #1, #2 and #4). Although I am quite disappointed that the scream at the opening of the book doesnt work anymore. About that ending, there is actually 3 reasons for that: 1) Mr. Brewer perfected the plant-copy-human machine that one of his clones turned against him and turned him into a real plant. One of this plant clones turned out to be perfect, having human blood flowing in his body, became sympathetic to the kids and turned against the other weaker plant clone; 2) Some of Mr. Brewer's physical characteristics got transferred to the experimented plants. Some of the plants become to have his mouth, his hand, and , in the case of the plant that Princess (I forgot her name) found, his voice. Yeah, despite being the title, "Stay out of the basement!" was only said twice in the book, although I bet they got to say it more in the TV series episode. The TV series adaptation was a good one and it actually got the book. Several changes was made, but still, they manage to pull it out in a way that is very accurate to the book's plot and story details. Anyway, I would have rate this book 7/10. Not as good as the first, but still a good one, considering that the horror happens in the protagonists' home, making it much scarier for an average 12 year old. Also the fact that the father is sort of the villain of the story. Again, nice review guys.
13:52- The last time Ned will ever be concerned about Jason's safety.
10:48 Why doesn’t she spray them both? Is weed killer harmful to humans?
I think it's a combination of "the thing" and "the fly". The blood test taken from the former
Wow this is really well done, definitely deserves more subscribers
Jasmine porter Hey, thanks for watching!
