The Season 1 is more like an arc to introduce every single character that works in the agency and the enemy organisation until around episode 10. If you really want to go into BSD, you need to be patient because its very character focused.
Atsushi is already 18 years old. Dazai and Kunikida are over 20 already. It's a Seinen and not a Shounen, so the main cast is adult with a few exceptions. Every character is made after a different real life author and Dazai Osamu died trough his depressions and committing sui****. The animes main factors are mental health and representing these important literal authors. The abilities are the important books they wrote. Like Osamu Dazai's "No Longer Human".

My favorite part of Bungo is that basically all the ADA members are insane except Atsushi who looks at them all like "wtf????"
and as someone who loves books yeah rereading is just as a good as rewatching a show at least to me

Thats not completely true. Also why should someone be disappointed about it? There are many women, but in the general communities you will see almost the same amount men. It's just that women are talking, simping and writing more about it than the men i guess.
