I lost my lost my little sister, only sibling and best friend to cancer five months ago yesterday.
She was 34.
When I saw Penn Charles jump into Lola’s arms while she held onto him so tightly… I just erupted into tears.
There’s nothing in the world, up to and including my own life, that I would not give to be able to hug my sister like that again.
Love each other, because life can be terribly, tragically short and all too often devastatingly unfair. Few fates are more difficult to bear than desperately longing to see the one face you can’t or deafening silence replacing the sound of the voice that always seemed to make everything better.
I 'm really sorry for the loss of your sister. 34 is so young and it sounds like you were close. I hope you are feeling better by now.❤

I'm so sorry. We almost lost my oldest brother at 38 and that was so unreal. Now we are much older, but so far the 5 of us are here. I can't imagine how much you miss her. I have no sisters, but siblings are with us from the start. When I saw PC and Lola hugging its a quick reminder of how QUICK life goes on. It just seemed as if it was yesterday I was going home from camp and could NOT WAIT to see my brothers. We are in our 60s and 70s now. Time flew by.
I am sooooooooooooooooooooooooo sorry for you. I almost never had an older brother and now we are so close. I can't imagine how hard that would be.

I remember two years ago when I picked up my sister from sleep away camp with my parents, and I was walking around trying to find her, and then I saw this girl turn around on the other side of this small parking lot, and it was my sister. We both sprinted toward each other. It was one of the happiest moments of my life.

my daughter has been travelling overseas for a month, and she is coming back tomorrow! This was just the time to see this.
Being at the front of the pick-up line has always been important to me. I can't imagine having my boys (especially when they were little) wondering if I had forgotten about them, had car trouble, or for any reason make them wonder why picking them up could be anything other than my only goal in life. (And yes, I was in a hurry to see them, but giving them that reassurance was even more important.) Welcome home, Lola!
YES! That was one of the 970000 reasons I had too. Lola had asked a couple time if we were "sure which day to pick up" as if we would forget her or something.
Bless their hearts... they don't realize how much of a hole they leave when they are away! (And by "hole," I am thinking Grand Canyon or Marianas Trench!)

I know how it feels not being able to rely on mom regarding this. She struggles with depression and I would never know when she'd come to pick me up. She didn't show up at all once. Great times.
So yeah, this reliability is is really important for kids and be grateful for all the things your parents do for you! Often it's these small ones that matter most.

Awww, I'm crying too. Penn Charles and Kim, omg so sweet.... 😭 I bawled when I moved away from my home city, away from my little niece. She was only 1. I've moved many times but I always came back home. She's 25 now.

I just got back today from the same camp! I went for 4 weeks I saw her fishing she caught a lot!
My sister leaves for California for college in August and my mom can't talk about it without crying her eyes out. (We live in New Jersey) My mom is very close with her family and was never really far away from her mom so it's very different for her. It's also very expensive for the six of us in the family to fly there so only my mom can go up with her but we will send her off from home.

It is a really interesting moment in a family's life. On one hand you have the youngest child who's never been able to enjoy his parents's company just for himself,which is precious,but also the (brief) absence of his sibling which may feel lonely. On the other hand,the parents who may experience (some for the first time) the absence of one kid and what it represents for the fututre,suddenly having a preview of what comes next (college and adulthood) which i guess is heartbreaking. Thank you for sharing this sweet,precious moment of your lives :)
You know, usually I make a comment about "Enjoy this time, passes too soon, blah blah blah"...but with you guys, it is SO clear that you're enjoying every moment, even the harder ones. You are all so blessed to have a have each other. ❤️

My daughter died almost 3 years ago, age 35. She and her little brother were very close. I have no words. This was wonderful.
I went to a week overnight camp. (Camp Westminster) and when I saw my mom I dropped my water and accidentally knocked over a kid while I was running to her. Then started crying while I was hugging her!!💕
Lucy Harvey where is that camp? I have heard of it but it might not be the one I’m thinking of. Also, is it a church camp? I go to church camp every summer for a week. I don’t think I could handle 2 weeks lol.
