Wow, impressive new directionfor theRumjacks. I saw the band in a small venue in Phoenix, AZ in March of 2017. I had checked the concert schedule on a whim (for the first time), and discovered they were playing that night, and only 150 miles away (really next door in this part of the world). It turns out Frankie had lost his voice, so the band performed without him. The Rumjacks rocked it by standing in for him. I knew then that there was a real team.
I just saw the Rumjacks in Orlando at a Dropkick Murphy concert and I was completely blown away by how amazing these guys were!!!! You guys rock and have gained another fan!!! Can't wait to see you again.

What a song! I first saw The Rumjacks many years ago in Newcastle when you were touring with your "Gangs Of New Holland" album. You were supporting Dropkick Murphys and I left that night with so happy to have seen an Aussie band kicking arse like this. I've seen you live a few times now, but not with the new lineup. Very keen to see Mike Rivkees bring it home. He fits right in. Well done!

This is a top rocking folk band in all of this world. This brings me back to my schoolboy days when I was as free as a birds and I had lots of drinking beer money in my pockets, it is great to know that brilliant hard-rocking, great-sounding wild music is still been recorded and played live. I’m going to have to get my old dancing shoes out and have them polished up and get ready to them go to all this bands gigs when they next come back to my country

listening to the rumjacks for me now is a strange experience having grown so familiar with the work under McLaughlin. And while not all the lyrics were..... great in a song under his lead the arrangement almost always made up for it. With the new stuff id d3escribe it like... i can hear a nugget of gold there.. the lyrics are wonderful the energy is right, but the arrangement could of been done just a bit better. I can't help but feel that with his guidance they could of really shined. It is by no means a bad song, it is good but my mind always fills in what it would of sounded like with Frankie's deeper singing voice and so it sounds off to me. I do really hope that as i continue to listen to your new stuff that, my ear becomes accustomed to Mike's voice. TLDR: I miss Frankie's voice and the style from that time.... but im looking forward to seeing more under Mike's lead, there is still so much promise and talent show in this group.
