This video goes over my thoughts on the new series tales of the empire and my review of each episode. #TalesOfTheEmpire #StarWars #Maythe4thBeWithYou / @darthpawzthewise
@@DarthPawzTheWise I think that Grievous carried the whole show, too bad he was there for like 4 minutes. Why make a mini series about him when you have Morgan, a character literally nobody cares about. Tales of Disappointment: Classic Disney strikes back.
@@DarthPawzTheWise Personally i thinks its just bad pacing. I think her change makes a lot of sense if you read underneath but at surface level it seems like hot garbage
Typical Disney trash. They tease us with Darth Vader, but in the end its more sappy bs, featuring a "they/them" jedi. Yet again they show that they are trying to pander to a fanbase that doesn't exist.
This is a mess, They had to label it "Empire" Because they knew nobody would give a fuck if it was "Tales of the Women". Out of the fifty different Imperial figures we know of they choose someone who isn't even Imperial and the other one is a self insert Night Witch. Tales of the Empire had three main issues False Marketing It had literally nothing to do with the Empire except throwing in meaningless cameos with Vader and Grevious or flashing cool scenes of Jestefad and Mustafar along side flashing in the New Republic in Clone Wars fashion. Secondly it made a massive divide in the character of Barris Offee. It's been stated she hates the Jedi and that they are servants of the Republic and yet she becomes this wise monk after ten minutes of screen time. Now you could justify this but saying she believed in peace and how "The Jedi have lost their way" but she outright was willing to Bomb a temple and murder people to put her bestie in Federal Prison. Thirdly the dates of when all of this take place are all scattered to the winds of the Star Wars timelines, We don't know when any of this takes place and it breaks continuity in several places, For example why is Bo-Katan answering to the Distress call? Her home had just been bombed if this flashback takes place around 5-6 ABY she should be focusing on building a military to reclaim Mandalore When and how did Morgan even join the empire it's such a hard skip and what year does Episode 2-3 take place in? We know that Episode 1 takes place in 20 BBY with Episodes 4-5 being in 19 BBY Final Noting: This just felt like more woke garbage shoved down our throats like how Tales of the Jedi made Ahsoka even more of a Mary Sue with Dooku being made a complete idiot. P.S I forgot to mention this but Barris looks like she aged forty years meanwhile the Fourth Sister/ Lyn seems to look the exact same
It’s just a big mess that I don’t care for canon breaking show thrawn met pellaeon in a canon book when he was grand admiral but somehow now they know each other when thrawn is a admirlay
Am i the only one who was very confused in the 5th episode when the kid said'' they're hiding in the mountains''? I expected several Jedi. I can't take the alphabet people seriously. Especially as a Jedi. They are not Jedi-material, they are too emotional and self-centered, they want the entire world to cater to them and their fragile feelings. This series was emBARRISSing.
She went from being "I'm a terrorist who's willing to put my bestie in prison to" "The Wisest monk in her corner of the galaxy" even though she aged like what? Ten years
I only watched Morgan's story and only saw pieces of Barris's story. Nothing beats the first episode tho. Grievous and the CIS were amazing. And Darth Vader was like Grievous in Clone Wars Season 7. Only to show for a moment and then never again for the rest of the show.
I won't lie I was hyped for Tales of the Empire since we NEVER see anything from the perspective of the Empire. Morgan was ok, but Barriss rejected the Empire..........so HOW was she part of Tales of the Empire? Barriss you could argue would belong better in a future Tales of the Jedi.
@@DarthPawzTheWise Yeah I know, but when I saw the first trailer for Tales of the Empire on my phone I thought it was just another fake trailer like we see so often put out by fans, then I watched it and saw original animations and bought the BS hype thinking FINALLY they're going to give us something cool about the Empire.................just another cock tease.
I do think the irony of Barriss’ new boss being Darth Vader would’ve been cool and be like a fate worse than death and also would’ve brought different possibilities but unfortunately they waste Vader’s appearance to a cameo. 🤦 Disney can’t let Vader go on missions with the Inquisitors and instead stay on the sidelines like a regular imperial but that’s not who he is he’s the emperor’s second command and should be training and working with the Inquisitorius! It’s like if The Witch King in Lord of the Rings stayed on the sidelines while the rest of the Nazgûl went to go look for the one ring for Sauron instead. By the way, I think the reason Barriss wasn’t executed is because Palpatine obviously saw potential in her as an inquisitor so I don’t think it doesn’t make sense. Maybe Palpatine had told a lie that she got executed but was secretly keeping her alive for his Inquisition program. It’s not out the realm of possibility.
A big problem I had with Barris’s story is that the Clone guards didn’t kill her during Order 66 because, “just be glad you’re not a Jedi anymore”. But, didn’t Rex try that exact reason with Jesse about Ahsoka during the last episode of The Clone Wars? And didn’t Jesse say something like, the order says that the Clones must kill any and all Force users? If that’s right, then the Clone guards should’ve killed Barris. Unless they were told to not kill her ahead of time. Which is quite the mental gymnastic move that Dave loves to do so his characters don’t get killed.
Say what you will about Tales of the Empire, took me this long to get another moment where Grievous curbstomps an enemy. Shame that the rest of the storyline was subpar at best.
Love how real you are man, I was getting pissed reading twitter comments talking about the they them character not being a big deal that disney included that bullshit in there. But then again, it’s my own fault bc twitter’s a whole ass mentally ill social platform
For me Morgan story was ok and Barriss's story is amazing, but that ending... She returns after 11 years with big plans promised, only to receive the weakest death scene after 3 shorts, which ruins the potential of this character. Instead of invoking sadness, it triggered frustration towards the creators, and later confusion when you realize that she's master of Force healing, which was also demonstrated. Don't get me wrong, it's a very good scene, but it's more of a summary of her path and an opening for the continuation of her story. I know that she and potentially Lyn are healers, so she could be healed and possibly live on, but that should have been shown in this story instead of opting for a potentially open ending or potential death. And this is only flaw but that is huge flaw because we're left with either a weak death scene or a disorienting open ending.
Her being a force monk healer is ridiculous is was a terrible dark side person that then magically turned into a good guy and Vader was clickbaited hard
@@DarthPawzTheWise That was a very good choice. The foundation for Barriss is Medstar (I recommend reading it because it's a very good story). She's an incredibly moral character. She's not a mindless killer and wants to be good. Barriss is a pacifist who was forced to kill. She's not blind either because she saw what the Jedi were doing. Additionally, we see clear Luminara traits in the 5th season: - Ignore emotions - Focus on realities - Fight evil at any cost (this is the cause of extremism; and this character couldn't let go, especially when she saw evil.) Just by her facial expressions and what she says, you can see that she's ashamed of what she did. Even in her speech, she said, "We" fell - she consider herself as part of that evil, a product of the Jedi's downfall. So this character is very deep and complex; you just need to analyze her. Edit: I'm sorry, but what did you expect from Vader? He wouldn't have killed her because this is a story about her choices not his. The only thing I expected was that Barriss might lead to a duel where she would survive because, for example, someone would sacrifice themselves, but I didn't expect anything more. Dave Filoni did do another canon breaking thing. Captain Pellaeon was in the Morgan episode and knew Thrawn when he was a Admiral in the Thrawn canon book they met when he was grand admiral
Epic roast of such a trash series. I like your style my dude. Barris’s return should have been so much better and I hope I never get to see Morgan Elsbeth ever again because I don’t care about her whatsoever and her story and character is garbage. I even went back to the original trailer for this show and changed my like to a dislike because that’s how upset and disappointed I was with this dumpster fire of a show. I’ve already decided that I’m not watching The Acolyte or Skeleton Crew either.
I don’t understand why Morgan Elsbeth is getting a episode it’s tales of the empire give us a Vader episode and thrawn episode and don’t bait us with Vader when he has 20 seconds of screen time
@@DarthPawzTheWise Exactly. We could have even had a Tarkin episode or a Sideous episode or one about the grand inquisitor or our old pal admiral Yealaran.
@@DarthPawzTheWise They even baited us with Vader in the last episode making us think it was gonna be him to show up and fight Barris with all that build up and sense of dread they were trying to make the viewers feel. Even when you looked into the distance of that person walking slowly towards them it had the outline body of Vader. I’m so sick of Disney purposely toying with our emotions and nostalgia all the time!
It's wasn't horrible nor Amazing, a mediocre project which falls short in terms of storytelling and not so satisfying ending, missing what made tales of jedi amazing
Oh Grievous my beloved😍I loved seeing him and the CIS genocide space goths but that was the only good part of the show with scenes that included the Empire. The episodes with Barrizz was trash except for Vader showing up.
@@DarthPawzTheWise years ago I’d love a General Grievous horror movie set during the Clone Wars about a bunch of Clones tracking down a base that belongs to the Separatists but don’t realize it’s actually Grievous’ base.

@@DarthPawzTheWise Yeah, and i can't stand it. I can't take tr4ns people seriously, i basically see them as children playing a game, so seeing it in Star Wars is a major turn off and makes me lose respect for the company. The little i have left.
The whole time I was watching Morgans story I was like "who cares?" I mean she was in one episode of Mando and now she's dead. Her character had potential but she's dead. So while watching Grevious was a delight. Did we really need to find out how she took over a small ass village for "revenge". BTW revenge on who? Grevious is dead. And they didn't even show how she formed such loyalty to Thrawn that she died for him. But also the Grevious scenes were so short. What we got in the trailer was pretty much it. And also Dave Filoni literally click baited people with Darth Vader walking in, sitting on his throne and breathing 😂
Eleventh arc I thought was pretty good. Just because we haven’t seen this mountain tribe before doesn’t mean that the night sisters didn’t know about them. Thought the fourth episode was amazing. Fifth episode was good at the beginning. Shitty when the non binary Jedi came in and barriss all of a sudden became a good guy. Then barriss becomes some dumbass monk and got stabbed in the stomach and guess what. Survived. That’s the part that pushes me over the edge. Barriss becoming good and surviving a stab. Dumb asf
@@DarthPawzTheWise I mean The Empire is so weak, it is impossible to exist in the first place. They want to make a tale of The Empire, but they can't show the strong empire because of it supposedly evil and corrupt, so they have to show the empire got beaten every time by the supposedly weak good and moral guys. How that work? If fewer supposedly weak good guys can beat the supposedly strong evil Empire every time, the world building don't make sense anymore.
I feel like they didn't feel like writing dialog and that's why there's so little talking. besides that, I watched until the fifth episode and didn't hear one interesting or good line of dialog... Just everything about it is ridiculous and the fact that the episodes are so short makes the “series” unnecessary anyway Aja and the Tie-Defender (the spaceship she wanted to sell to the Empire) is one of the Empire's best fighters and they want us to believe that a random woman designed it? As if just anyone can design high-end starships xD that makes absolutely zero sense I will suppress the existence of this series, just like I did with episodes 7-9. This junk is not part of the Star Wars universe in my world and I recommend everyone to see it that way too

It was a fun show not gonna lie
Glad you enjoyed it wish I did
Am I the only one who really enjoyed the way they drew Barriss’s boobs in TCW? I mean they were really perky and full bodied.
Tried to watch the first episode I didn’t even finish it
It’s trash your not missing out
Disney is a joke
Just a huge waste of money for Disney
I wonder how much money will be lost on this show
Also the ratings will be terrible
Probably the worst in awhile
Do you ever played jedi fallen order?
The ninth and second sister are way better inquisitors than the ones we see in kenobi and Rebbels
It was ok but I thought cal should’ve died to an inquisitor
It's wasn't horrible nor Amazing, a mediocre project which falls short in terms of storytelling and not so satisfying ending, missing what made tales of jedi amazing
Tales of the Jedi was 1000 times better if you are going to do empire do Vader and thrawn not barriss and Morgan
get help for your addiction, therapy is your friend
you're delusional
Oh Grievous my beloved😍I loved seeing him and the CIS genocide space goths but that was the only good part of the show with scenes that included the Empire. The episodes with Barrizz was trash except for Vader showing up.
The only good parts are what we should gotten for the whole show
I wanted the history about Origins of Imperial Shadow Guards.
Anything but what we got
Something that it should be at a comic series, not in animated series.
Greivous was cool but the whole thing felt a little bit pointless. Nowhere near the quality stories of Tales of the Jedi.
100% agreed
@@DarthPawzTheWise years ago I’d love a General Grievous horror movie set during the Clone Wars about a bunch of Clones tracking down a base that belongs to the Separatists but don’t realize it’s actually Grievous’ base.
im not interesting in this because its all canon with the damn sequels i don´t have an opinion on this but i don´t care because its all canon with the sequel i like rogue one and solo and some of the new canon shows but i don´t want to watch rogue one and solo again and i don´t want to watch again the new canon shows that i like and i don´t wanna watch any new canon shows that didn´t come out yet regardless if its good or bad because its all canon with the sequels
Wow scathing review subbed
Thanks means a lot
Pretty sure that Jedi was a She, but anything is better than they/them
It shows Disney only cares about agendas not content
@@DarthPawzTheWise Yeah, and i can't stand it. I can't take tr4ns people seriously, i basically see them as children playing a game, so seeing it in Star Wars is a major turn off and makes me lose respect for the company. The little i have left.
Hahahahahahahahaha.....!
It's good to see the Empire respects Jedi preferred pronouns. 🙄💀
It shows what Disney really cares about agendas
The whole time I was watching Morgans story I was like "who cares?"
I mean she was in one episode of Mando and now she's dead.
This show was terrible because of Dave Filoni I don’t if understand why people trust him anymore
big fax. literally dont care for morgan elsbeth and grievous stuff was fucking sick but everything else was ass
Dumb asf
This is the right answer
Disney had to give Barris a happy ending and make her a good guy terrible writing on Dave’s part
Fans films are currently the future for quality Star Wars content.
100% but they don’t look good in terms of cinematography
@@DarthPawzTheWise yeah. I agree. But I give indie filmmakers some slack because they can’t be cinema level obviously.
100% Disney should at least let fans that make films keep 50% profit earned from the video so they can create better content
@@DarthPawzTheWise yep 💯
I was thinking about watching it but no chance now
I wouldn’t waste my time watching it again
This is why I will always prefer the EU version of Barris because Dave Filloni butchered her back in TCW and other Prequel Trilogy characters.
I don’t think she was terrible in TCW but in Tales of the empire she was terrible
The Tales of The Empire sucks at everything.
100% I can’t name one good thing about it
@@DarthPawzTheWise I mean The Empire is so weak, it is impossible to exist in the first place.
Just everything about it is ridiculous and the fact that the episodes are so short makes the “series” unnecessary anyway
Aja and the Tie-Defender (the spaceship she wanted to sell to the Empire) is one of the Empire's best fighters and they want us to believe that a random woman designed it? As if just anyone can design high-end starships xD that makes absolutely zero sense
I will suppress the existence of this series, just like I did with episodes 7-9. This junk is not part of the Star Wars universe in my world and I recommend everyone to see it that way too
The star wars universe for me is 1-6 that’s it everything else is not Star Wars this show wa sa complete and utter joke
@@DarthPawzTheWise what about the clone wars? rebels? Rogue 1 & ToTJ? These are all amazing projects and if you're judging them without watching them you're truly missing out
That jedi is actually trans, crazy right?
Disney only cares about agendas not a good story this perfectly highlights that case
@@DarthPawzTheWise also why did Barriss call the jedi They? You use *He like is She using They as multiple people cause I don't see anyone else? I felt off by that hope it isn't true if it is It's not my head cannon.
@@BOX6Performancesnoticed that too. they/them pronouns
When was it suggested the Nightsisters didn't know of the other clans? You're making a bid deal over something you've made up
Not at all when Morgan was at the new clans area they introduced themselves to Morgan as the mountain clan and Morgan didn’t know who they where even though they were very close to the nightsiters area
@@DarthPawzTheWiseshe’d probably never met them before but that doesn’t mean that the nightsisters don’t know about them, maybe Morgan didn’t as she was quite young but talzin etc definitely would’ve
When was it suggested there were other clans? Another Filoni retcon.
@@russianoverkill3715 Other Dathomirian clans have been mentioned in canon as early as 2020 this isn't a new addition
@@bahkbar5615the Mountain Clan was first mentioned in 1994, so he was complaining about Star Wars Legends because he thought it was a Disney addition without evidence
It just wasn’t though…
They should start a Legends division for Lucasfilm to allow for real fans to make non canon content both live action and animation. And also not limit everything to just Disney+ and Hulu and allow content to be licensed out. Same for Marvel, Pixar, and 20th Century Studios content. Otherwise just sell everything.
Disney should be hiring fans for movie shows books and comics period
@@DarthPawzTheWise yes and video games
All of it its stupid not to be hiring fans
@@DarthPawzTheWise exactly
Tell me you're no star wars fan, without telling me you're no star wars fan.
I love Star Wars not new Star Wars
You must like the sequels
What dude wake the fuck up watch the show and you will see that its not like tales of the jedi tales of the jedi is new Star Wars and it was a 10/10 but this tales of the empire is so bad its woke asf plus the click baited vader so hard the end of barris was wack
Tell me you're consumerist shill, without telling me
You must have pronouns in your bio and like the sequels
The tales of wasting your time.
100% I can’t believe I wasted it
I loved the show and it was great haha
Glad you enjoyed it I wish I did
No you didn’t, you didn’t love shit 😂
Couldn’t agree more with you man. This show was equal to the sequel trilogy
I couldn’t believe how bad it was
Tales of the Jedi and Tales of the Empire was... a clickbait bro. was expecting stories from other Jedi... it didnt happen, same for the Empire... missed opportunities to tell a story besides Ahsoka or other characters...
We saw Vader for 10 SECONDSSS WHAT IS THAT
Terrible? I thought it was supposed to be good. What gives?
Dave Filoni writing has lots of holes
@@DarthPawzTheWise Holes? Such as?
@@m.a.2633Night sisters being retconned into being normal humans, there being other night sister clans, maybe even more.
@@m.a.2633making barris good now makes no sense
@@clave2049 I for one agree. She should've been written as a villain instead of a hero which is some believe would make the series perfect due to its embodiment of the dark side.
I was so bored I have to listening it as a background noise while playing the game
I had a hard time to keep watching it like a really hard time
Another child that doesn't understand nor will appreciate art. Tales of the jedi and Tales of the Empire are absolutely amazing and just wants to see flashy lights and action on screen. Such a Simpleton @Darth Pawz, its fans like you that gave us disney star wars. Dave Filoni Does amazing work and is the only reason Star Wars is still going strong.
Dave Filoni is doing nothing but breaking canon thrawn met pellaeon in a canon book when he was grand admiral but now somehow he knows pellaeon when he is a admiral
Child you know nothing then, Dave Filoni was the apprentice of George Lucas, he helped build the entire universe. You will never understand a good story if it hit you in the face. Your opinions are flawed and you are a disgrace to the fandom. Go read a book and get some literature in your life.
@@DarthPawzTheWise also the books you are referring to are the legends universe. If you knew anything you would know there is a canon universe and a legends universe. Dave Filoni is creatively incorporating legends into canon. Heir to the empire was not canon until Ahsoka show.
These episodes aren’t fantastic but you might want to rewatch them since you don’t seem to understand what happened very well.
Literally explained the episodes
@@DarthPawzTheWise Yes and, as I said, I don't think you seemed to fully grasp both the literal narrative elements and thematic relevance of certain choices based on how you communicate in the video. You didn't just "explain the episodes" but offered your commentary. Worth reflecting for a sec if you're gonna pander to the whole anti Disney thing. Just makes any constructive criticism you may have feel more whiny and misplaced.
bro, all your strwars videos are about how much you hate him, stop watching it and it seems like they are forcing you, just keep watching George Lucas and that's it, but you don't need to go crazy about morgan elsbeth's stories that in me opinions are average but not bad
I watch everything and make content about everything anc criticize stuff because I want the content to get better
I got 5 minutes in and turned it off, ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE!!
I don’t understand why Disney made this show at all
