Incredible! Can't wait to give it a go. This is without a doubt the secret best RUclips channel. Now we just need to figure out how to get the secret out.
@Ian Charnas Thanks for making me smile for ten and a half minutes straight. Watching you and your friends have fun was pure wholesome serotonin joy. “Fudge! Sugar cubes! Rice and Beans!” So if you see some rando waving to you like a goon while you’re driving just know that you are appreciated. 🙂
Hi Nilz! It wasn't easy, but I did it. It helps that I hacked the game so the characters move much more slowly LOL. Did you give it a try? RealLifePunchout.com
Chad Kapper! The legend himself. Now it's a party :-) Thanks so much for the encouragement and the tips and suggestions on this! You may have seen but you are in the credits here and on the website. Hope to see you soon.
This is seriously brilliant, and the game worked REALLY well when I went to play online. Blown away with how well it works with even a bad webcam. Going to try later with iPhone camera.
I find that a lot of smaller RUclipsrs have a hard time keeping content like this engaging. I think you do a great job making these videos fun, interesting, and not too dense! Nice one as always.
@@iancharnas Give it a few years of hard work, I guarantee your channel will explode. All it takes is one video to go viral, and one is bound to someday!

Why is the answer always electrocution? 😅 Great build! I recently played some Punch Out on the Switch, and also reacted to Piston Honda's text. The eighties was a great decade in some ways, but it's a relief that we've evolved some since then... 😬
Haha it seems electric shocks improves almost any situation :-) Thank you so much for the kind words. I ended up changing the text between rounds for the whole game. Most are silly (and harmless) jokes or lyrics to meme related music. I didn't include them in the video because I thought it would be fun for people to find as they are playing :-)
Today I am going to put myself in a video game. Well that would be a vr headset. Two thumbs up for your project anyway as anything home made and thought out is pretty darn awesome.
Haha yeah fair point for sure. I did an AR version of Mario Kart that was pretty fun if you want to check out that video on my channel. VR makes me a little nauseous though (I'm a delicate flower I guess) so I steer clear of that. Thanks for the thumbs up and for the comment - greatly appreciate it!
@@iancharnas Well thank ya kindly for saying so. Truly though, your content is the kind that one would expect to see on one of those 1m+ subs channels and frankly I'm really mystified why that hasn't happened yet. I think something big will happen, though... all it will take is a moment of love from RUclips's algorithm, and... 💥
DisasterMo!! Now it's a party :-) Thank you so much for your help with this. I used retroarch and your rumble shock patch during development and it was incredibly helpful. You're in the credits here (the video description) and also on the reallifepunchout.com website (click the "?" help menu and the credits are in there). Thanks again - you are the best!
Very well made and impressive work, I hope the algorithm gods are generous. I assume there is no legal path to give access to the reversed code? It's pretty funny you chose punch out, the power glove was by a company that made very high end hand tracking gloves. They showed off to Nintendo using it to play punchout on an NES by actually punching. That's what caused Nintendo to approve the power glove.
Hey thank you so much! I don't think there's a way to get access to the original source code. Nintendo is very shy about that. Oh wow I didn't know the power glove company also made hand tracking gloves! To do that back in the 80's would have been a real challenge. I wonder what technology they used? Radio beacon triangulation? Very cool. Thanks for sharing that :-)
I did a YT vid on an ATTiny85 running two servos with a laser attached for "random" exercise for our two cats. Just need to be aware that they can do joint/ligament damage if this type of frantic exercise is not limited.😸
@@onecircuit-as awesome project! I'll check it out. Yeah I believe you about needing to be careful with the cats. I'm very cautious with the laser pointer also, to make sure I don't ever get it in her eyes.
This is hilarious and incredible! Ive actually been looking into Mike Tyson's Punch out's internals recently, and was wondering if there's a public copy of the notes used to modify the fighter patterns? Reason I'm asking is that you seem to have a better understanding of Punch Out's bytecode better than anyone else on the interwebz
Hi Bob thank you so much!! The disassembly was started by a great coder on github. Here’s the link. I haven’t had time to put my version online but when I do I’ll let you know. github.com/nmikstas/mike-tysons-punch-out-disassembly
