The best expat house that I have seen in PY. Loved the tranquility and wooded area of your garden. What do you use the firewood for Simon? Thank you for sharing.
Thanks. Funny you mention firewood, yes I do cook with it and this morning having finished pruning trees shot a bit of video showing the finished result. That will be posted in a couple of days
Hello Simon, Thanks for the video - I noticed bars on the windows. Is that a necessity - thought that crime would be quite low in PY outside of As? Will PM you with some other questions. All the best.
Was this house already there or did you have it built? Are you still making a living as an English teacher? Apart from that, you make very appealing videos. I would definitely like to see Paraguay. I could take early retirement in a year or so at the age of 58 and have been working as a train driver in Switzerland for 22 years.
Paraguay is very much somewhere worth seeing, largely unspoilt and off the tourist trail When I bought the land it was just a field of sugar cane and I had the house built, as for English, many years since I have done any teaching
Thanks, Simon! Would you walk barefeet on your property or are animals such as scorpions, spiders, and snakes present so the risk would be too high? As you may know, walking shoeless is optimal for foot health! What sorts of fruit trees do you have and what else do you grow in your garden? Thanks!
No I would not go about barefoot, but that is because so many plants here have spikes and thorns rather than worrying about the wildlife, instead normally flip flops with soles to keep sharp things out of my feet! I just have a few fruits trees, guava, orange, grapefruit, nispero and a couple of others, most of what grows in the garden is grass
The bars are really just there because they are expected. No issues with security. Also without glass in the windows if there were no bars there would just be huge holes in the walls and I would have a house full of birds and the like
Thanks for the stroll Simon!
My pleasure

Beautiful! How are the mosquitos out there?
For me up on the hillside, really not an issue, however my neighbours down in the valley bottom have plenty. They just have to get used to them
@@simonsparaguayA good reason to be on the hillside!

The bars aren't really there for security. Without glass the windows are huge ugly holes in the walls also having bars is just the normal thing to do

I notice bars on your windows. Are there issues with security there? Even way out in the country like that?
