@@anndynegative LOL funny, "The Brown Sound" is commonly know as Eddie Van Halen's tone, we all try to find the Brown sound to sound like his amps did. Listen to anything off VH1, VH2, Women and Children First and Fair Warning....That is the original Brown sound.
For me any boss katana is a no brainer, you can dial in alot of sounds on the knobs but you can literally get any sound you want through boss studio. And you can download other peoples patches so you don’t even have to dial in your own tone
Just get a Fender Champ 20. Like a hundred and twenty bucks. You won’t need any pedals, lots of effect options and the damn thing is loud enough to make your neighbors notice.
@@LiamSmall12I have one and do not recommend. It doesn't have a really clean tone. So, if you intend to use a pedal, the sound will be a mess. For practice, is ok and only if you are not going to use pedals.
My first amp was a 68 guild thunder bass. 2nd amp was a 50w musicman hybrid, tube power section with solid state preamp. Really interesting sound. For the last 20 years I’ve been using my third amp, a Rivera m100. The guild is still at my parents house, it is and was my dads. Really simple great sounding amp. Volume, bass, treble, and a low pass/high pass switch. I don’t like modeling amps as a beginner amp(although I bought one for someone as their first amp😢) because they are kinda complicated and as easily as I can get a great tone out of my dads flextone or my Rivera, I can just as easily get something abysmal.
For those who are beginners that are playing guitar as a hobby and arent looking to be in a band or play for other people and don't want to spend over 500 on your gear I recommend the Boss Katana Mini. It's 100 bucks (I got mine on sale for 80) and it's got all the basic settings you need to amplify your guitar. It doesn't sound nearly as good as more expensive amps but it's been a really good budget Amp for me. Great for just learning chords and tabs.
Realistically, spending a little more isn't a terrible idea. It sucks buying multiple cheaper amps that don't please you or whatnot and buying multiple more to get the right one, rather than spending just a little more on a decent one the first time that will last plenty of time for you to get your moneys worth out of using it or selling it to someone else that wants it for nearly just as much as you got it for.
honestly i don't like to recommend modeller amp to beginner. You actually risk to spend more time dialing in a sound you like than playing. Or have a lot of reverb or delay to hide the mistakes. Honestly? Marshall DSL1. Small amp, sounds VERY good, 2 channels, cheap. Get a couple of pedals with time, and actually focus on practice, and making the most of what you have.
I've been playing off and on for the last 20 years and have a lot of practice amps, tube and SS. My favorite practice amp is the Orange Crush 12, it has no effects which is a good thing for a beginner as you don't get caught up in playing with the effects instead of just playing your guitar. You really are better off keeping it simple, your picking is the effects.
my dad was a guitarist in his 20s and drifted away from it by time. now i have his guitar and amp. both of them are about 25 years old. the amp is just now going out and i’ve been buying new guitars over the years.
The GAMMA 50 by Acustic Amplification is loud and clear. At under $200 it's a better deal than any on your list. But I got mine on sale at Guitar Center for $129.99. I run a Boss ME 70 into it and gig with that rig. I did put Fender grill cloth, emblem and knobs on it though.
Which should i get, want to play heavy metal and my budget fits all of these, i dont care about portability but i am kind of leaning towards something that can go without a wall plug for an hour or two
Should we buy an amp with a lot of effects or just with basic ones cuz we’ll get filter pedals anws? Im a beginner so id love to know which i should go for🤔 so Marshall mg10g, Marshall mg15g or fender mustang lt25
@@gergoretvari6373 maybe....i wasted 10 years running a line 6 pod x3 live. I m skilled in tone creation. I use minimal analog pedals with a good Roland Blues cube amp. Katana sucks.
The Katana is an awesome amp. You could dial in any tone. From sparkling clean to the heaviest metal. Plus it's very loud. There's a reason it's one of the top selling combo amps today. It's no tube amp but it is extremely versatile and portable.
@@nightswatch8659 The Katana is okayish.. Had the 100w 212 for a couple of years now.. Then i got a cheap marshall DSL1. yeah. not going back to the katana. ever that cheap amp sounds way more alive than the katana. and i don't waste time dialing in a decent sound :P probably i'm old ahaha
im beginner i dont even know what guitar to get im thinking epiphone les paul speciail thing but does anyone know can any electric guitar go into an amplifier? I heard that epiphone amps suck so i might get the les paul and a seperate amp
I have played with guys using Katanas , you get what you pay for . I am a Marshall guy , but the best sounding amp in this class is the vox ac solid state
I tried the Orange Crush. It did not really convince me buying it. super cleans, but I don´t like the crunch. Marshall MG Series are not as well either. Only the MG 100s and above are great.
I have a fender with 30 pre built volt fx. I'm focused on a tiktok tele guitar budget thing. It's unbelievable in a good way. Boss has 60 fx? 2:06 hey there that's me. "edited comment"😂
Depends honestly, if you do gigs from time to time than you need to expand your budget to at least 300$. If you’re just a beginner or you’re just gonna be messing around than any amp will do really
Completely agree, this video is not of much value to me. beginners wont ever think of boss katana as a budget choice. For one thing, beginners generally dont know how long they will be playing. So their amps need to be real budget ones. Otherwise it is very likely to be a waste of money
it was christmas time and we're all strapped for cash. i wanted an amp for christmas. we arent poor by any means, but my dad doesn't need to worry about spending $500 on something other than bills. have some respect. @@kamprikorn

I already have a katana mini for practice at home

I don’t know a lot about guitars but is overdrive the same as distortion?
They're different. Basically overdrive makes the sound coming out of your guitar louder, and distortion clips the signal and makes it all gnarly
I'd pretty much recommend the Katana over the others here!
