A simply love this peace of music! They play it in a gloriuos way and with majesty!
Trust me, if you are there at the cathedral and they play this piece; no echo's, just the chills and joy of listening to this life is overwhelming! I can know, beacuse I work in this cathedral and have the privilige to hear them each week.
Antwerp Cathedral doubly blessed with it's lovely instruments. Beautiful city, shame that Cafe t'Toreke is no longer in (?) Korte Gasthuisstraat...
Marvelous ! What a magnificent rendition ! Congrats !
Wow!
Superb sound - the two organs compliment each other so well and the Gigout is ideal to show off the beautifully articulated stops from each instrument. Gentlemen, thank you both for this treat!
One of the most impressive performances I have ever heard!
WOW!!!!.......my heart is RACING just listening to this!!!!
I'd love to have heard this in person. So grand and beautiful!
Excellent choreography, guys. Thanks for posting.
Beautiful performance!
Absolutely beautiful!
Astounding, superb. Gave chills!
Building, organs, organists, music = all fabulous. Reminds me of when I was a kid (in the 70s) I had a recording of John Grady and Donald Dumler playing the same piece on the gallery and chancel organs of St. Patrick Cathedral in New York.
Oh, this is absolutely wonderful. Thank you so much for recording it!
When I was a choir boy at Grace Church in Providence in the early 1960s the organist, Fred Cronhimer, a student of Dupré, used to do a call-and-response using the two Casavant organs, 4400 pipes in the gallery, and 2200 pipes in the chancel. He told me that since he was in the chancel he had to start playing the chancel response before the sound from the gallery ended so that it would sound right to the audience in the nave.
Absolutely marvelous !!! Congrats !!!
My favorite version!
This was awesome!
A real dialog, great!
Brilliant! I've attended an organ concert in the cathedral but never heard the two organs played together.
you need to come to Portugal, and listen the 6 iberian organs of Mafra :)
Way to go guys!!!! Thanks for sharing.
Grandiosa composizione e stupenda interpretazione. 👍
AMAZING!!
GOD BLESS YOU!!!
Groots geluid ! Alles is duidelijk.
Fantastic. I would sell my grandmother to be able to do what these artists do.
And just exercising few times a week is enough :D :D No grandmother selling needed :D :D
Poor old lady...to be sold by her grandson...for a pipe organ concert rendition...But depending of the old lady, may be this would be worth while...
Not in stereo? Slightly too fast. Wonderful nonetheless!
Love it
Órgano 1 super bien , Órgano 2 muy saturado , deberían repetirla ya que se nota que será muy hermoso.
Grandios!!!
Bravissimo !!
Splendid
Would have loved being there. This is a quadraphonic music (not stereo).
In this case I think bigger and older is not better.
The Metzler organ has such a crisp sound, it makes this piece sound much better.
If it also had a couple charmades that would make it even better.
Great sound...but... too rapid. A more stately performance would have allowed the sound to permeate this vast building.
In that room a slower tempo would work nicely. However, this tempo is fairly standard. What a marvelous sound!!!
I agree. I don't what the rush was to perform it so fast. Much of the articulation from the larger organ was lost in the acoustic.
Блестящий!
B R A V O ! :)
the 32' stop of the pedal, seems to have a slight delay to produce the sound.
the 2 32' stops in Antwerp Cathedral have their own wind pressure, independent from the other pedal stops. If I listen to the big 32' of the Verdun Cathedral organ - notorius for its thundering 32' sound - I hear a similar small delay in sound producing...
A lot of pipe to fill with air!
Gorgeous church & organ(s) but yes, too fast for clarity. Muddled. But by now you know that.
Too fast. It's lost in the building.
Thank you for your reply. Yesterday we searched the building and we found it back 👊
Both organs are impressive, However, this is played way too fast. The massive chords can not develop in the acoustical environment.
Too bad this sounded like a mono recording
Awesome!!!
