      Thank you for this very interesting video! I would love to visit japan someday and see all these wonderful places. Also the food! So many wonderful things to eat. I am able to order some on amazon But Wish there were more available Or another website that has more things to offer. Also I have to say, Please ignore the negativity in the comments. People don't seem to realize That it's not your cafe and you didn't create the cafe You're just visiting the cafe and showing it to us. People shouldn't take it out on you if they don't like it They should contact people Who manage such things. From your commentary And from what could be seen It seems they treat the animals they have very well. Also thank you for the reminder of putting on subtitles I definitely would have forgotten! Thank you again for a very detailed and interesting wonderful video!!

    I love owls and hope they’re okay, because it’s strange that different kind of owls are held together in one room (hope the don’t fight with each other).
    Also hope that they are fed well and go outside from time to time.

    There is not enough information, so I can’t give much criticism.
    What I can tell is that these aren’t native owl species to Japan and thus are more likely captive bred birds, thus not poaching from the wild.
    Contrary to poppular myth, owls are not exclusive nocturnal birds, they do often hunt during the day, but are mostly active at night to avoid competition from other birds of prey. In managed care settings, they can be as active during the day.
    What I don’t like in this is how many individuals are placed together in closed spaces. Owls are solitary and highly territorial. They would be no doubt stressed to some degree in the presence of potential rivals or even predators (larger owl will readily prey on smaller species).
    Owl can become ambassador animals and interact to people, but it requires some habituation training and not every birds can do it. They also need a lot of alone time that they can get away from all disturbances. So the least the cafe can do is rotating them out and displaying a single individual for only one to three hours (depending on how stressful the bird gets) then put them to their private living quater to rest and have their solitary need.

    Most of these owls are not native to Japan or even Asia, many are European breeds so they are born in captivity. This owls are not from the wild they are raised by people from the time they hatched from the egg, and the café needs special permission to have them in the café.
    Not all owls are nocturnal, they are often corpuscular meaning they are active in dusk and dawn. Some of the smaller ones are often active in the daytime, daytime owls have often yellow or lighter coloured eyes than the ones that are usually active at night, evening or dawn, this owls have been raised to be active in the day so they necessarily don’t follow the same pattern that their wild relatives are.
    The owls that have the feathers that looks like ears are called plumichorn learned in in a video that a person visited a bird sanctuary in England.
    Also the owls have their mouth open too regulate their body temperature. They don’t sweet as most humans do, there is exceptions of course.
    From what I have heard from another video is that birds are often in a room for shorter periods just so they can gets breaks and aren’t with people all the time.

    • @modtomodern
      @modtomodern 4 месяца назад +6

      That is still called wildlife exploitation. If you opened a window, they would fly away to be free, not stay there. And you being OK with that shows a lack of compassion for animals wild nature. To breed this "out of them for profit" is just bad for the birds.

    • @annikahallberg4453
      @annikahallberg4453 4 месяца назад +9

      @@modtomodern not be free as you see it they don’t know how to hunt so they would starve to death would you be okay with that they would die that way?
      If they somehow could survive they could do allot of damage to the native species because of not being native to the area. If you look up how much damage both dogs and cats can cause to the native population in both New Zealand and Australia then you will see how complex this situation can get if you release an animal not native to the land.
      I like both dogs and cats but I also can see and understand how much damage they can do to the wildlife.
      The cafes have also written information on each of the owl species so people can learn about them. Yes it is in Japanese but are you interested in learning there is a lot of information online with specific sites that you can learn much more about them.
      Many of these animals cafes can often start someone to want to learn and work with these animals in the future and in their natural habitat. So they also can get more knowledge to people and get them interested in the environment and animals.

      @@PhantomP63I understand that, and I think some people don’t understand or think what certain actions can have a devastating impact on nature. Also on the animal that they want to free. Nature isn’t a happy place there animals get along. When you mentioned lobster I thought about Leon the lobster that Brady Brandwood have in a larger aquarium that was bought from a grocery store. He does videos about the lobster and what it means to take care of an animal.

    they dont need to fight for food, to search for food or to be care of other predators. They already have a home, also humans who care about they. But yeah, some "Pro-Animal dude" with 200 years experience says they re better free because thats how "animal world works", yeah... "Freedom" its something that human race hace several traumas, not animals. They prefer survival, so.. if they live is in easy mode in a cafe, they prefer this vs live outside trying to survive and maybe die in the process.

      @@SlimBoomerReturn9184I mean this is a for-profit cafe not a raptor rehabilitation or educational facility. We really don't know their situation. If their flightless due to some kind of injury or something then they could be ambassador/educational captive birds but even then they're usually given a degree now autonomy and wild land to parade about on.
      This looks to be pretty unethical. But I don't know I haven't looked into it. If this is literally what they do everyday it's not a good life. Owls do not want to be restrained and manhandled bite humans that's for sure
