    In this short video I'll be going through why flaring is a good thing to do with your bettas as ive learned in my years of breeding and keeping these fish. With wild bettas the first symptoms and sign of stress is always the lack of interest to flare as this is a clear indicator that something is either wrong with the water or the fish itself so us wild betta breeders use flaring as sign of health check.
    Flaring is considered very healthy for the fish as it promotes blood to flow throughout the body of the fish including the fins, it is always good to get your fish to become more active and interacting with them will greatly boosts their confidence. Naturally Betta's will flare at anything that they are curious about such as snails, shrimps or their own reflection.
    In the video explains a process in which us breeders in thailand use to condition our fish so that we can exercise them when we need too and check on how their form is doing during the conditioning process. These up close flaring method gives us time to inspect for any defects,injuries or details on that fish that we need to know about to see if they are healthy or unhealthy.

    Their iridiscence looks awesome on camera. For me the easiest way to build their condition when it comes to flaring is to just uncard them every now and then, but that only works when you keep them next to eachother in seperate containters.

Then they chill for the day, just before fedding they flare again most times walter doesn't any more, but he is almost 3. I also have bettas in with guppy fish. They eat the fry. I do it like a total of 1 hour to 1.5 hours a day, but like 8-10 times, is that ok? I mean, I play with him 8-10 times a day, like 10-15 minutes each time.
    I do it because I always see him floating like he's deas or laying on top of a deco, like he's sick, so I get worried and get him to move. He seems to get bored. As soon as I get close to his 2.5g tank, he gets active and with energy, and follows me, swims with my face or finger, swims left and right, up and down. So cute.

    • @kidwolf0015
      @kidwolf0015 3 года назад

      True Giant Bettas are propably the least natural bettas in existence. They are the result of EXTREMELY intensive inbreeding with unpredictable results. They are the same species as the rest of domestic bettas with an expression of an extremely rare gene that makes them huge. They also tend to have weak immune systems.
      On the brightside, the gene seems to make them extremely mellow and non-fish aggressive... of course thier health is a huge price to pay for that. They would *NEVER* survive long in the wild.

    • @kidwolf0015
      @kidwolf0015 3 года назад +1

      Yes! Bettas tend to be pretty receptive learners for thier entire life. He might have less natural aggression and less of an urge to flare though. Koi Bettas tend to be a quite bit less fish aggressive than other domestics. Older Bettas also tend to be less likely to flare. A old koi betta is typically one of the most relaxed domestic bettas around, so the hard part is probably getting him to flare in the first place not the training part.
