I attended the funeral of my High School Sweetheart, and everyone told me that he never stopped loving me, and mentioned me often. I completely had no idea! How different life would be if I had only known.
My husband and I are born 10 hours apart. Same hospital. Met in high school. Graduated together. Broke up to carry on with life. 5 years later met up with mutual friends. Since then, 28 years, 2 kids, patiently waiting for grandchildren. Love story since the hospital nursery. Lol
It was 1976, I was a junior in high school and really big into CB radio. One day I heard the sweetest voice I'd ever heard in my life on the CB and decided to meet that girl! A few days later it happened, she was 3 years younger than me and had a boyfriend. I was so disappointed. We became friends and I immediately loved her parents! The first time I saw her my brain said "Some day, I'm gonna marry that girl!" 9 months later she moved away with her family. 45 years later she found me on social media and we've now been blissfully married for 9 years, these stories really do happen!
I am tearing up. I'm going for the same thing. Leaving Maui after 30 years to see if Joan Lee from Kimball highschool still loves me. (Don't worry I'm not a stalker) God bless your marriage and thank you for sharing that beautiful story it was inspiring!

I like Gayle’s honesty. I sometimes (every blue moon) think about my high school sweetheart, but also I’m not pining over anyone either - just wonder time to time how what she’s been up to and how she’s been doing.
I know this kind of everlasting love, separated by decades. No matter how he changes due to the ravages of time, it makes no difference. He's still in my heart, and I still envision him as he was way back then. It's been 35 years since the engagement was broken. But we still love one another - from afar. I have come to a place of peace and acceptance now about our past. It wasn't meant to be in this lifetime...or at least that's what I thought until I saw this video. Dare to dream? I can wait another 30 years for you, Lewis C.

Unfortunately we were both married and having families so the timing was not right. You never lose that feeling though, especially when it's ripped away so fast like that.
Got lucky my hs sweetie and I only had to wait 18 very long years when we reunited in our mid forties have been extraordinarily happy together for another 18 years (so far).
They left out a major part of the story. How did he find her phone number after all these years and even know her new last name? Internet search? Facebook? I wish they would have told us.
I think it's disrespectful to say that he pined after her all the years he was married. He said he thought about her, not that he pined for her. He obviously loved his wife.

I'm amazed how they could go on to accomplish so much. It's been 5 years and I still think about them every waking minute, unable to focus on anything more than a few seconds.
This has got to be the luckiest guy when it comes to love. Happily married for 61 years and when she passes away, his first true love goes looking for him.
Can’t believe how good-looking he still is at 85! Wow! Honestly, he’s aged better than she has, even though he’s older. But they’re both so lucky to have found each other again after more than 60 years, and both are still alive and healthy. What lucky people they are. So envious…don’t think I’ll ever have what they have, even though I’m much, much younger than they are. I’ve given up all hope.
How lovely and they seem respectful of each other's children and their other parent which is important as sometimes people marry late in life and completely mess up inheritance plans for their children and that kind of thing. It is certainly worth a bit of legal advice as well as love....

So cute. My mom and I used to have a conversation all the time about older couples. You would look at them like they've even together for 50 years. But how do we know its not their first date? Or even a new relationship. Don't judge a book. You never know.
