We have already started working on using Python programming to automate the train to go back-and-forth in the winter village and IT IS SO COOL! I can't wait to show you soon!
Eggy bricks has a great video on PYbricks coding for making the train go back and forth with a color sensor if you run into road blocks, looking forward to seeing the end result
Hello. Hello. Emily. ❤😊. Was great. To cee. Ross. In comments in acob. Live stream. Today. 😊 .yes yes. I just started building my winter village. Wilst. Listening to acob live stream..😊🌲❄️☃️🏘️🏡🧑🎄👸☃️🦌🌲❄️☃️🏘️🏘️🏘️
Awesome. Yes. Great. Motorised. The it to drive on the tracks 😊 I might try haveing the winter train. Drive on track in my winter build ..I only got a little space but got a big hard board I can try put my winter villiage on so I can add. Train and train tracks 😊
@@Emmasaurus yeah it’s awesome 👏 I also love how you incorporate the seasons and having a winter village/area is a great idea. Looking forward to seeing where you put the Home Alone house. 👏
More motors! For Ross's desire to toggle that switch for the Trolley he could add a motor at each end beside the track turning paddle wheels to make that switch go from one direction to the other. You could even hide it in the guise of a Christmas Tree rotating at each end of the track, lights and all, just a thought.
If you want your incline to be smoother, you could try using rocker bearings and rockings at the base of the tracks (parts 3937 & 6134), which would keep a consistent angle. That worked like a charm for me.
Hello! For your small train, you can put a motor at each end of your track, activated with a bumper button who turn the swith on the train. That's a small track of ideas for your layout, I love you and Ross!!👍
Hey, so just a suggestion you can add some white tree leaf elements with the dark green tree leaf elements to make it look like there's a little bit of snow on the tree as well this way you don't have to use a whole bunch of white pieces on the trees and it will look like snow! Hope this helps!❤-Erica
looks great! If you use the Powered Up motor and hub that you have, you can use the app to program the hub to run forward stop then reverse all on it's own. You could even have it speed up and slow down. It would might cost you a lot less time and you would only need the motor and hub which also would make it compact and easy to fit in the trolley.
The only thing I could think of, if you have a lot of pieces and space to store them when it’s not in season, build each season the way you want it, replace the one that is out of the season.
Christmas ornament tutorials. You showing how to build ornaments. What do you think? If you do, please show the pieces you need to build whatever you are going to build first. So, we can build with you ❤ Thank you ❤ Love your Christmas village ❤️
You can do the train back and forwards thing with just the powered-up motor and battery box and nothing else using the phone programming app and setting times for run, stop, run back, stop and repeat. MOCerhead youtube channel has demonstration of how to set this up, plus showing how you can add the color sensor and how to program that in the phone control app. The app just uses drag and drop elements so it is super simple. Maybe this is of use to someone.
#Emily You know what Would look Really Cool in your #LegoWinterVillage on the 2nd level of building's there, if you put your small Train going around the small Winter village and just have it going around, and maybe figuring out how to make it go on the 1st level on the winter Village there Emily 😊👍🏼👍🏼, i think that would look cool if you build it like that Emily 😊👍🏼👍🏼, and also add some Winter lego Tree's to, and it would look really cool Emily 😊👍🏼, do that Emily & Ross 😊👍🏼👍🏼, it will look really cool to your winter village 😊👍🏼👍🏼. Your Friend: Justin Balaban & Balaban 😊👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼.
Looking good! Lots of work to even keep the upper area in season. For mine, I decided it's basically Halloween all year round to account for all the weird stuff, then I have one baseplate that is seasonal that I can just have fun with. Keep up the great work!
Its kinda ridiculous that there's duplo sloped train tracks, but nit regular ones Looking forward to when you make videos about the robot inventor set. I built that set, but couldn't figure put how to program it Which set is the ice skating rink that Ross showed?
Yes thair s a way to ortomate the track switch emily. A guy from my lego group i in has dun ortomate .to his tracks. Should be few. Online you can check out .😊.good luck ..moveing the track to infrunt of the builds better 😊🏡🏡☃️🦌🌲❄️🏘️🧑🎄🦌❄️☃️👌 its looking great. Ross emily. 😊

Loved last years Winter Viallge & cannot wait for this years
I liked last year's too! I think having it in the city will be fun though too :)
My fingers hurt just watching you peel those pieces off. The Village does look very festive!
Great city update Emily the train looks nice have a great week
Awesome LEGO city update! I love how you both incorporated a train 🎉
I'm happy with how the train is turning out! I think once we incorporate better automation it will be even cooler!
@@Emmasaurus yeah it’s awesome 👏 I also love how you incorporate the seasons and having a winter village/area is a great idea. Looking forward to seeing where you put the Home Alone house. 👏
Keep the seasonal rotation for that top level, should be interesting during the year
TrixBrix has many special pieces of track, bridges and trestles. All depends on how much of a purest one is. Love what you’re doing.

It’s looking great
I love your city it’s amazing u can afford all those sets
I love Christmas villages! It's gonna be very cool to see it all finished with that trolley, can't wait to see that!

If you’re using MILS plates, you can make duplicates and dress them for the season, then you just swap them out when the seasons change
Hello @ Gordon
Hey, so just a suggestion you can add some white tree leaf elements with the dark green tree leaf elements to make it look like there's a little bit of snow on the tree as well this way you don't have to use a whole bunch of white pieces on the trees and it will look like snow! You could automate the yellow switch by having a color sensor before it set to a color of the trolley and then have like a little motor to push it
Awesome work.
You can still blend the winter village in as it is colder at elevation so taper the snow as it gets lower.
Hooray for cooler weather in TX 😂 Lets enjoy it while it lasts 😆
@6:15 Instead of reversing the motors direction, try add a cluch mechanism onto the train while keeping the motor constantly on.
The pole will work on the train it needs to be longer and stop brick as far to the end as you can.❤
looks great! If you use the Powered Up motor and hub that you have, you can use the app to program the hub to run forward stop then reverse all on it's own. You could even have it speed up and slow down. It would might cost you a lot less time and you would only need the motor and hub which also would make it compact and easy to fit in the trolley.
Just use the color sensor and the powered up app lets you program it to stop on a certain color and reverse …
That’s exactly what I have. It’s super easy.
You could use ikea boxes to raise Santas workshop
It looks amazing! 🤗👍☃ Can't wait to see more 😊
10874: Steam Train comes with coloured tiles and a detector. When the train drives over a blue tiles, it reverses
The only thing I could think of, if you have a lot of pieces and space to store them when it’s not in season, build each season the way you want it, replace the one that is out of the season.
You can also use the boost color sensor. Cheaper than the Mindstorms/Spike Prime color sensor.
I would LOVE to see more of the programing aspect mixed with LEGO! That's a really good idea.
Love the 🚞🚋🚃🚞🚞🚋🚋🚃🚃
Somewhat related question, how do you keep your city clean from dust?
You should embed the track in the street to save space and to make it less noticable

I like the winter village! But wait, they have LEGO Christmas trees that light up?! Oh I'm so late to the game 😅What set number can we find those in??
I love winter villages!
Day 94 of asking do you have big Ben
8:06 they make touch sensors. It hits a wall and it means to reverse
Appreciate it! We looked into it as well but we are trying to use what we have and unfortunately we don't have that particular sensor 😔
62 degrees 😮! I’m from London and now it’s like 5 degrees in November
Wow. It's hot here too. For November. 54°F in northwest MN.
Ross - try a rubber band on the PF switch so it wants to be in the forward or reverse positions & maybe a long axle that would flex.
This is incredible 😍😍😍

wow fantastic!...i'd like to build a lego winter village for my channel
Just use a color sensor and the PoweredUp stuff it’s super basic. You can do it on your phone.
Emily awesome winter village update fantastic train Ross
Thanks Warren!! I'm excited to keep working on it :)
Impressive!

Hi love the vid
Oh, you did it
Its kinda ridiculous that there's duplo sloped train tracks, but nit regular ones
Looking forward to when you make videos about the robot inventor set.
