Thanks for the great video. I have a full 256 ssd and have cloned it to a 512 that I had laying around. Was having trouble with the ribbon cables since I've never had to deal with them. I'm not a techie so a lot of this is new to me. Your video helped me alot I've taken it apart most of the way one time then put it back together just to see if it would work. Voila! Now I will do the whole thing and plug in the new SSD. You saved me a bundle thank you much!

I have the same loptop but one of the usb c is working. Unfortunately I need both for the double monitor and the other one is for charging. Do you have video of how to replace the USB c port?

Hello. Is there a way to test the battery before buying a replacement? There's no light when plugging in the AC adapter, so I don't know if it's a bad board or battery. AC adapter is good as it can power up other laptop. Tks.
Sounds like a motherboard or charge port issue.

hi, so I just came across this video by chance and I have this laptop, with liquid damage as well (diagnosis report says motherboard is toast). I ended up buying a different laptop bc having it repaired would have cost more money than the laptop itself. I kept it bc it is a star wars special edition and it looks pretty. I recently saw on ebay that used ones are pretty affordable. do you think it would be possible for me to repair mine if I use a used one for spares or do you think that's stupid? I absolutely adored that laptop so I would love to have it fixed
edit: and if I can fix it is there a way to save my data from my ssd in case it's fried too?
You can either get a usb adapter to access the drives, or swap the drives to another same model motherboard, assuming the drives are ok.
Personally the laptop is really old, so it would be more just to collect it than to use it.
