Vale to the incomparable, immortal Tony Bennett. Thank you for your life, your music and all the beauty you created and gave to us. RIP, and give my regards to Bill …
This never left me. Whenever I am confronted with heartbreak subconsciously I hear these artists in this timeless recording. Amazing how music and voices can echo through time. I hope others will discover this song through the years.
Marvellous to listen to the artistry of a great singer and an incredible jazz pianist - Bill Evans joined by perhaps the greatest the most versatile "jazzy crooner" ( I am quoting the NYTimes) that is the one and only Tony Bennett. He had so much to give, people everywhere on this planet were touched by his style, character, and musicality....!
I feel so good that I’ve done so many things that I’ve wanted to do and been able to even though I have five children I do feel very blessed to have done so much and I’m only 57. This song is true if you procrastinate .do the things you want, you only get one chance to do it then you’re gone do it now
Hamish Stewart from the Average White Band did this song at the 606 club in London last night. The words were profound to say the least! It was done with such grace and meaningfulness and the best saxophone I think I've ever heard. Beautiful song..........
Miles said numerous times late into his life that he could never figure it - Bill was always the straight arrow, Mr Dependable core of the Quintet's greatest days. They had all long since kicked and cleaned up by the time a middle aged Bill found himself probably more in the grip of his habit than any of them had ever been in their 20's. Just unbearably sad.

Some other time, indeed.
We can only hope the likes of these two legends will cross our path again.
So long, Tony.
Such a combination of incomparable talent. We will always suffer this loss.
Just realized the intro is "Peace Piece." Just a masterpiece of collaboration. Love it so much.

One of the greatest songs from musical theatre

Tony is timeless. His voice will never be forgotten.
One of my favorite Bill Evans / Tony Bennett tunes.
Thank you Mr. Bennett, Mr. Evans.
"Oh well" - so sad and beautiful and the same time.
I want this played at my funeral
Me, too!
If it is possible for this perfect album to have a “best” song, this would be my choice.

Would have loved to been there...to say the least.
So many emotions wax and wane throught this piece..a classic
Bennett did an interview on NPR speaking about this album. He said Bill had to lay on the floor between takes. He was close to the end.
Somebody called Evans' death the world's longest suicide.

Love Casandra Wilson's rendition of the tune
Evans nails the wistful melancholy. . Why doesn't Tony sing all the lyrics??
One of the greatest moments in Western Civilization.
Leonard Bernstein composed the music for this song, not Cy Coleman.
