I truly can’t express how elated I am that I came across this. Just beautiful and soul touching. Thank you so much for sharing this. As a kid I spent far too much time in hospitals fighting for life. I met many others in the same situations. Some survived and some sadly didn’t. But all of us had our fantasy worlds...our dreams of heroes and protectors who fought with us and for us. These realms we would escape to when it became too much. (I was an 80’s kid so mine were Jedi and Transformers.) As an adult I now know that the real heroes were the nurses at the bedside and the doctors on call. But a lightsaber looks cooler than a stethoscope, lol.
I can relate so much to this. I've been hospitalized so many times; once when I was born prematurely, then again after my 24/7 headache nearly had me relying in pain, and when I almost lost my right eye. Every time I'd rely on some book I was reading or on some video game I was playing. Great song lyrics your dad must be very proud, the vocals as usual were excellent!
