- I purchased a former Air Force Light plant, that had a 3 cylinder Kubota diesel in it. The injection pump was locked up, and would not allow fuel to flow to the injectors. In part 1, I got the pump apart. Now it is time to clean it and put it back together!
Follow along with me as I disassemble and figure out what the problem is, and fix it!

Some tricks of the trade. Instead of fighting all those little pins and Detents, Put a gaba Vaseline on them. It will hold them in place. And the Vaseline has such a low melting point It will turn to liquid with any amount of heat or fuel Hits it.
Was very helpful need to make real clear how the pump pin faces had to watch that part several times.one of my three wasn’t pumping out any diesel.my starter was weak.would only crank about ten turns and it would crow bar the battery down to nothing.tried a new battery same thing.put a new starter on and man did she spin then.180 for a battery 381 for a starter.came close to just buying a new 72 incher
Is that what happens if the piston faces the wrong direction, no fuel? I started my D902 and it went run-away, but lucky for me, I had a shutoff in the fuel line.. smoke everywhere and crazy rpm. I am not sure the cause... maybe the slider pin did not engage the shutoff solenoid slot?

Your video set on the zexel Kubota D950 fuel injector pump was delightful.
Have no seen or read about the plungers' physical size and stroke length.
Understand it may be 5mm diameter but 5.5 mm diameters are also mentioned.
You were very fortunate to get the light generator manual which was so detailed.
Zexel does not recognize the Kubota serial numbers so not sure how to find tge actual Zexel pump serial number and alternat plunger id part numbers.
Any comment from you would help.

Unfortunately the only parts I've been able to find for these pumps are the o-rings. I have not been able to find anybody that will sell any internal components. I have found the entire pump for sale that's it.

At @25:10 you said the slot faces to the back, opposite the slider shutoff and the 'Z' faces forward to the slider. Another person's video says the opposite?
Can the twin o-rings be replaced without taking the pump that far apart? My shibaura runs great, just leaks fuel. Hoping to replace them with the pump still on the tractor…. Edit: on a late 90’s shibaura in a NH1530 I was able to pull apart for orings while on the tractor, and my pins are staked so they don’t fall out. Worst part will be getting the ‘piston’/ rod? lined back up while reinstalling the delivery valve cause the housing is on an angle allowing the piston/ rod to lean. I managed one so far, might jack one side of the tractor up. Never been so careful in my life. I’ll update when I succeed or screw it up. Thanks for replying and the video.
Unfortunately I believe you have to take the pump apart to pull the barrel out to replace the O rings
Update: success! O-rings from the dealer were $50 for the six I needed. I cheaped out and got hyd orings from Napa for $2. I believe the lower oring seals fuel from the crankcase, so I will make sure I’m not making oil. So on a NH1530 shibaura zexel it can be done on the tractor. Just be very careful and clean, and mark the location of the valves cause that will affect fuel delivery

I'm confused is the m 30 towards the crankshaft side or outside of engine. I lost all 3 of my pins and had to make some from drill bits cut off. Great video

@@steamman5320 great! My parts arrive tomorrow and I will be rebuilding mine. Did The numbered discs or the upper torx plate location have anything to do with timing or did you just put it back the way you removed them?
@@anyandalldiy6704 the spacers are for timing so make sure to note where and how many, and I just rotated the heads back to where the paint came off and it seems to be perfectly fine.

Hello. Most all videos on this pump seem to be blocked "including this one" any idea why? I've seen it many times on other subjects but this one is a need to know jobby.

Sir, can you give me a reference number for the zexel injector pump? I've got a kubota bx23 engine, and I don't see an ID number for the pump. Also, can you give me a part number for the replacement part kit? Thank you, Arthur.
I believe the ID number is on the front edge? I know, 2 years too late. LOL
