andrew garfield's stylist said that andrew purposefully asked for something a bit boring for this carpet because he didn't want to take any attention away from sally field when he presented her with her award, which i think is really cute tbh
Hey, would u mind telling who his stylist is?
@@ridhisingh7243warren alfie baker
@@walkinku Thanks a lot!
Yeah, I thought so when seeing him that he must have a reason for dressing down.
how good of him to even take this into consideration! many people in showbiz are only about 'me, me, me' so it's always refreshing if this isn't the case.
Here’s what I love about you:
1. How disgusted you are when you hate stuff…
2. How joyful you are when you love stuff…
3. The fact that you NEVER body sham!!! You never comment on the person’s body parts, ever, JUST ON THE CLOTHES!! Mazeltof!!
Or when he talks about someones body, its how the clothes compliment them or how people get forced into certain styles (ie plus sized women being forced into floofy tufted things and how that can be a cop out on the brands part).
He hates everything
I wouldn't call it joyful, as he says things like: I'm not mad about that..... whilst keeping an immobile face. But I would add 4. how you play with language, and make it funny.
Well said! We see you girl! You do such an incredible job!! 😘
Zendaya always slays. Her Armani prive look was amazing too!
Yes! I was hoping he would talk about it too!
@@mindtheprivacy No the look in this case (in my opinion) is just gorgeous. Like the flowers and how the colors match her skin and the hair. Absolutely gorgeous in my opinion
I think Cate Blanchett said in an interview that this is a recycled/altered dress that she's worn before. This is the second time this season that she's re-worn something.
That's really cool
I'm 'recycling' my clothes all the time! aka only rich people have the funds to actually buy new clothes each and every day.
Yes, and she's decided this year to recycle. There's a real trend now to go to vintage... here in Canada, Nordstroms is pulling out of the country altogether because people just don't have the money to spend on luxury. I think we are going to see a backlash against labels and high-end goods. Cate is leading the way. Why not repurpose a gown that costs thousands of dollars and is till beautiful. It's awesome.
At least she is recycling. I hear that there is a movement to recycle materials to be less burdensome on the earth. I'm for that! But recyc;e it in designsthat are creative and well fitted.
As she SHOULD! As EVERYONE SHOULD… it’s absolutely ridiculous and disgusting that people (even NON-celebs) think once they ‘Turn A Look’ it’s down the dunny with it! First off, to think that EVERYONE is so obsessed with you they’re keeping track of every single thing you wear and WHEN, that you couldn’t possibly wear it again is narcissistic, wasteful and selfish. Secondly, if it’s a matter of having an outlet for these fashion designers to be creative = give them back various pieces and have them revamp the garments! One gown could potentially have a dozen lives and looks! ♻️🤘🏾✨🌀
🌈🫒
What kills me is Austin has said how much he would love to wear over the top extravagant attire. It's either his company pushing him to wear simple stuff. (which isn't a bad thing because he looks STUNNING in the suits hes been wearing.) Or he just doesn't have the confidence to put himself out there like that (he talks about being shy alot and how its crippling). But a win is a win I'm proud of him for wearing a different colour. Hopefully he gets to experiment more with his attire in the future, because hes to attractive not too, he looks almost like a runway model!!!
You are so true about this girl
Yeah, after the Oscar's, he is the forerunner for Best Actor, he can't be too over the top. I expect him to be more experimenting after the Oscar's and also come out more with Kaia Gerber as a couple, lol.
He would look great in an emerald green or sapphire royal blue suit which he could try for the Oscars or something plaid as long as it's well-fitted
@@nikitamohan3390 oh please let that happen. 🔥
Zendaya always looks stunning. It's like I'm almost hoping to see her in something unflattering, but she could probably wear a burlap sack and still look good.
Her people also just really know how to pull a look together. Her hair, makeup, etc. always complements the outfit extraordinarily well.
@@Theater00jock Yes, her looks are most certainly a team effort!
Yess she always looks amazing. Her team is incredible and knows what works for her so well and she also just has a classic elegance and effortless beauty.
Will say it again: Zendaya is the only person who makes me stop & look. LOVE this dress on her, so glad I caught it in a feed cuz I don’t watch anything anymore. As disappointing as the red carpets keep being my interest keep waning too. I meannnn, even the construction & quality has been mostly terrible for so many carpets lately. Like the Grammys that I did check out. I feel like she’s the only one who dresses like a star. So elegant but not too old. Classy & just gorgeous head to toe, everytime. 😻🤩🤌🏻
Agree. Also she is wearing pretty hair. Not long shanks of fake dead hair with a middle parting! 😂
@@TheFinnola 😸Yeah I love the little flip u can see in thumbnail. 👏🏻🏆
If you have an Instagram I definitely recommend following her, love it when she posts her carpet looks 😍
I love Zendaya's look as well as Jessica Chastain's
Been loving Eddie’s looks as of late. Not boring but also sticking to classic men’s silhouettes
I was excited to see that Vogue featured an article about you recently. It was informative and I enjoyed reading about your perspectives on fashion.
Been a subscriber for quite awhile. You really have matured in your coverage. Very professional still just petty enough when warranted lol. Proud of you. I also want to say how important it is when you acknowledge cultural issues. Fashion people can be so clueless. Thx for your great channel.
I feel the EXACT OPPOSITE, OMG. Now you pander to blacks I said it cuz I am so I can AND the critiques are super petty anymore. Thankfully it took 9 minutes to here the I word. You know the one. We all lost the drinking game waiting for INTRIGUING to get said. Sincerely, a true (former) fan of HauteleMode.
@@janusconner3710 Im interested to hear why you feel this way and if possible can you include an example or two
@@janusconner3710 why spend your time commenting on a channel you aren't a fan of anymore? waste of your time and everyone who has to read your comment lol isn't it exhausting putting out all that hateful energy into the world for no reason?
i know Amanda's dress looked a bit messy but that was my favorite look. Love that mod aesthetic so much
I didn’t like it, but it was better than Claire Foy’s who was wearing the same House. I’d switch Amanda out of the worst dressed and put Claire bc wow that dress was bad.
so so very close to on target. so so close to respecting the best of mod aesthetic
I think the color and idea is great but what's up with that hem?
I like the color but it would have looked so much better in velvet or a slim fitting full length gown highlighting and framing her waist. The cut of her dress from the front at least was too awkward.
Great review, I agree with you on the best and worst. My highlights were Zendaya's impactful blooming dress, not only the dress but hair/make up. Everything is on point. Kathryn's romantic whimsical dress. Also Sheila lower part shirt/shawl and skirt look. I just wish it was a full dress without the Ivy Park basic looking top.
Viola’s been killing it!
I adore her 💛
Just wanted to say that I really loved the editing touches to compliment your discussion of the garments - the zooming in on points of focus, and panning down, and use of different images to show different angles. I know you have always done this, but I felt like there was more changes of focus on the images in this video than Ive previously noticed, which I really appreciated - keep it up:)))
thank you … i missed you! hope you’re enjoying PFW! congrats on the vogue shoutout !
Obsessed with ZENDAYA’S Outfit! Those 3D flowers are so pretty ! Also her hairstyle is perfect!
luke you are the best. I LOVE when you add in pics of the references you talk about from archives / history! xtra effort but it doesn't go unappreciated. thanks for providing shade, adoration and education all at once hunty xoxoxo
I love most of those outfits. Thank you for sharing your thoughts.
I love your you tube channel and your takes on current fashion and overall fashion knowledge.
Yay I've been waiting for this video all week! Congrats again on the Vogue feature
I loved Danielle Deadwyler's dress! With those panels resembling koi scales, so beautiful.
Really enjoy you!! Thank you for the posts!
It’s nice to see Austin Butler trying to step up his fashion game. And Florence Pugh too recently. They’re going to need to before they get on the red carpet with Zendaya and Timothee Chalamet for Dune Part 2 😂
Yes Lawrence really needs to step it up, her only contribution to fashion recently has been showing off her body with sheer stuff and that alone isn't fashion.
@@theshadowfax239 you do realize that not every actor need to be a fashion icon right? some actors don't really care about clothes like this
Julia garners look has me FLOORED. So stunning
Julia, Viola and Zendaya were best dressed for me. But Julia looked like she was from another planet... in the most amazing way possible! Wow.
Thanks Luke, I really agreed with you on just about everything, Zendaya and Viola Davis were my favorites and you made my morning ❣️🥰
Luke never fails to deliver such amazing content on this channel. More power to him.
I’ve had the worst day ever (my car was attempted to be stolen by some punk), but this video really has helped to turn it around. Thank you for helping me escape for 40 minutes. 🤍
I get bored easily and seldom watch videos in its entirety. But these fashion roast videos have got me hooked from start to end!
Pleasantly surprised with Amanda Seyfried’s look. Beautiful colour too!
I waited patiently for this and 3 minutes in, he delivered, love his perspective! ❤😘👏
I'm living just for your fashion roasts 🥰😘 Viola Davis looks so stunning Wooow 😱and Will Sharpe and Zendaya looks absolutely amazing ❤
Finally! I die for your red carpet reviews. Please do the Indie as well! And have fun in Paris :)
I was happy to see you pop up, Luke, and even happier to watch your video, on a gray, wet Sunday in early March… This was a fun batch o’ fashion, and how refreshing to see no real trashion for a change. Not to mention fewer Sexhibitionist-Sheers!
Thank you for this lovely break from all the bad weather out there : Especially in E. Palestine, Ohio.
I was waiting for this! 😁
Your historical knowledge & social , cultural awareness makes yr commentary better & better. Love your kindness mixed w/the grumpy impatience, with an occasional spark of snark without being personally insulting. Besides, I almost always agree with you, so of course you’re SMART🙄🤣💕
I needed this!!
*I was WAITING for you to review this!* I just knew Zendaya was gonna be your best dressed 😌💅🏽
The lace dress Roomie Mara wore reminds me of the mythological bird Phoenix… it’s beautiful… love the black and white
This was actually good!!
waiting for you fashion weeks roasts!!
Loved Emily’s look and Zendaya always looks fantastic. The lilac Herrera was stunning as well. Thx for your commentary!
I grew up in the late 60s-70s.
Amanda's green dress (minus train) screamed that era.
I had the exact hairstyle for my 68 prom.
@no one: Yes, the 70’s for sure … I even had a human hair “fall” (hair-piece) that same length, lol! Remember go-go boots too?
Angela Bassat has been killing this red carpet season. I love that she’s not afraid of color. I also think Michelle Yeoh has been AMAZING!!!! Cate Blanchett…also a red carpet QUEEN!!!!
emily blunt and john, wow. they looked so good 😍
The motif on Ayo Edebiri kinda reminds me of a marker being aggressively ran in approximated checker motif. Because there are lighter parts that are reminscent of alcohol based markers...maybe I'm reaching
That's what I thought too
I love the way it takes so much effort for luke to admit that something is actually pretty or good. hahaha (no shade, love this bitter betty a lot)
I love your commentary. I think Cate Blanchett said she “recycled” her dress from a previous red carpet look? Not sure but i like that.
“There’s not much empathy I have fashion wise for you” 💀💀
😂😂😂😂
Can you please do a review of the designs from Next in Fashion?
Might be the circle sequins with the center holes are referencing the bagel in Everything, Everywhere All At Once.
Julia Garner's Gucci dress was STUNNING. I love the art deco references. It was restrained but it still had a Gucci Kitsch factor with the weird elbow fans. Also they did a great job of styling her. She looked so sleek, like she stepped out of a 1930s newsreel.
please do the billboard women in music awards next!
And naacp image awards !
Stay safe in Paris babe! And have an amazing time! We love you!
This was probably one of the best carpets of the season. A lot of beautiful dresses. I do think the Christopher Rogers skirt was beautiful but the bra looked like it was from forever 21!
Interesting as always.
As a painter, I recognize the paintbrush strokes that make up the checkerboard pattern.
I hope that MESS in your background means you are designing and sewing again, finally bubby!!!!!
The sequins on Michelle Yeoh's dress reminded me not of hay but of crinkle cut fries. Or maybe I'm just hungry?
They reminded me of that shredded paper that goes in gift baskets/boxes.
Yes, crinkle cut fries!
@@kaseythekannibal That's exactly what I saw...
That olive green chartreuse Dior dress was luscious!! And the Gucci dress was Gorge!
Shelila Atim in Christopher John Rodgers- loved it.
Zen days looked STUNNING.
The tailoring is on point for this red carpet
lmao “we are living in the bonfire of the vanities nothing is sacred everything is possible” me too babe
Luke~ Part of the beauty of Amanda S’s Prada dress was the silk ! The perfectly I’m-refectory reflections in the modern red carpet era is ok because the textile is beautiful no matter what. What other fabric would you suggest for that garment, after all?
Such a lovely fabric on Miss Stephanie's Caroline Herrara.
For my sofa suite.
Finally!
My favourite red carpet of this award season so far. It felt more free and experimental than previous red carpets. Perhaps the SAG awards has less pressure so stars feel less inclined to play it safe. Loved Emily Blunt and Zendaya's looks.
Angela Basset did the thing💅🏼🤭
Eddie killed it! I FINALLY agree with you, Luke! He nailed it
31:26 very nicely done, motif flows thoughtfully in guiding the eyes
That Alexander McQueen bird dress is stunning, a completely work of art. Lazing is an almost lost craft, reviving the centuries old craft is important! That dress is going straight to a museum
wait, wait, WAIT that first green Prada dress has pockets? can it be? miracles do happen!
I have been OBSESSED with Austin Butler’s suit since I saw him in it. He looked incredible. ❤
I was waiting anxiously for Aubrey Plaza dress commentary! 😭
Could you please do a video about all or some looks from next in Fashion? ❤
i love you for your carolina herrera moment - truly felt it 25:47
My sis really looked like a queen. Love u sis
Ayo's dress made me want to run. It makes me UNCOMFORTABLE.
Ok 1. I been waiting for this videos. Like WAITING
2. I love you so this is not shade but I’m sure horizontal is across like the earth’s horizon and vertical is up and down
3. Love Zendaya always
Jenna absolutely served
25:46 I'M SCREAMING. I feel you, Luke. I feel you
Definitely a checkerboard but done with a thick marker which gives it a puzzle-like effect.
You forgot to mention the iconic Jean Paul Gaultier fish scale dress Marion Cotillard slayed with in 2016.
That Gucci at 23:50 is just.. I'm drooling
austin's watch and jewelry is made by cartier, hes a cartier ambassador
Sheila Atim's look is stunning and interesting. I couldn't stop looking at it.
Seriously Luke that Prada Amanda Siegfried dress is lovely it's a girly dress it's cute it's got pockets it's a great color Yes I love the silk I'm sorry but I do And the bow train in the back is fabulous
It seems to me the headline after almost every red carpet should be, "Zendaya STUNS."
Okay but Julia Garner's look almost made me cry that color so good that texture magnificient
My jaw is still on the floor.
36:56 nicely done, the cut of it all is simple yet modern and interesting, well thought out; Prada can take some pointers at the bottom of this Valentino dress
4:28 yellow looks gorgeous on her love how effortless it seems; it almost looks like that orange dress Flo Pugh wore
I loved Ashley Park’s dress - it was so stunning !!!♥️
Thank you Luke
39:54 never had a bad fashion moment…loving the accessories here too
Julia Garner looks like a goddess that stepped out of a renaissance painting. Absolutely stunning.
The checkerboards on Ayas dress look like a marker was used to make the brown boxes so cool
I still don’t understand why some women wear open toed shoes to a formal event. Nor do I understand wearing short dresses and skirts at said event. 🤦♂️
Hello, may I ask please, are you gonna do rewiew of celebs who attended recent fashion week?
Jenna slayed 💅
I've worked in fashion for decades! And RARELY does a Zendaya comes around!
Lace needs an update in motifs. I'm a flower girl but I'm tired of all the roses, give more modern floral motifs.
Eddie Redmains shirt bow, the word you are looking for is 'cravat'! Since you are in France, lol.
Amanda Seyfried !!!
