If I’m 100% honest, I kind of loved how New Leaf’s songs were so different from each other. These all seem more together as in they all sound somewhat similar, which is nice but I loved how NL’s were so iconic
Jonathan Parker people were saying these exact same comments when New Leaf came out, and said City Folk was way better and varied. Let it grow on you, a first listen will not tell you a full opinion at ALL when you'll be listening to these songs hundreds of times in game.

I’m having similar feelings in that new leaf was my first ac game that I first played when I was 8 and so I loved the soundtrack from the beginning like I actually cry when I hear certain songs from new leaf and while I still like these songs and it’s still relaxing the early hours sound way to lively to me, but who knows it might grow on me as time goes on

As the first Animal Crossing that I've seriously gotten into, I don't really relate to the negative opinions of these songs. I love the variety of the songs and none of them strike me as "samey". There's many songs in this list that I immediately enjoyed a fair bit. 2PM was the first song I heard after being stuck with that one starting song for a week and it was a huge breath of fresh air to hear something slap so hard after hearing endless acoustic guitar riffs.
This is the first Animal Crossing that I play, so I'm not cliuded by nostalgia unlike most peole here in the comment section. I too got tired of the same music at the beginning of the game before I had the town hall changed from a tent to a real town hall. Especially when you play the game for hours and hours...!

Favorites: 6PM - beautiful nostalgic accordion, perfect for sunsets. 3AM - childlike and quirky with a hint of mischief, perfect 3AM vibe. 5PM - a banger. 3PM - another banger. 5AM - soft and dreamy, perfect for early mornings. 10PM - beautiful chords, perfect for nighttime strolls. Least Favorite: 2AM - boring, bland, repetitive, completely pales in comparison to every other 2AM theme before it. And the rest are okay. Honestly, this is my least favorite hourly music out of all the games, but I still like it and I’m still excited for this game!
I really like how upbeat the morning themes (7am-10am) are. In New Leaf it felt like the game was slowly waking up with you and easing you into the day. Whereas this game just throws you right into the action with these bops at the start of the day.
I freaking love the New Horizons hourly music. Every AC game has its own style, with a soundtrack to match. To me, this perfectly sums up the "get up and go" feel of the island throughout the day, and the peacefulness once nighttime hits. The motif finds its way through each song in some way without making the music repetitive. It might not please everyone, but I think in a couple of years, the people who don't appreciate it now will look back on it fondly. I know I will ♥️
I think I pinpointed my issue with these tracks. They all feel the same. New Leaf knew how to give different vibes for each hour and change keys for it. I know nostalgia is one heck of a drug, but the vibe in this soundtrack just isn't hitting the same... Edit: Some of these definitely are some bangers, especially the middle of the night. I think it's the day tracks that throw me off
I felt the opposite. The day time ones were some of my favorites, while I feel they sort of dropped the ball with the night time ones. I wish there was more variety in the instrumentation. 7AM, 8AM, 9AM, 12PM, and 5PM are stand outs to me. There is probably a couple more but it seems to be a case of getting used to them.
I would also like to add that New Leaf had an assortment of instruments that blended together well, while I feel that the synths present in this soundtrack are more rigid and have a less natural vibe to them. I guess it’s preference thing though, and I certainly feel more inclined to New Leaf based on nostalgia as well.
Man, people are really crapping on the music before you unlock the Town Hall. To me, it's like, you'll never get to hear it again once you unlock the town hall. The music is simple because Island life at that point is very simple. Once you start terraforming and moving things around, you sort of wish you could go back and see your island for the first time with that lonely guitar... :(
I personally like it because the nights lively especially compared to the older Animal crossing games. The villagers and Tom nook don’t sleep at all so it would make more sense that they wouldn’t keep the same quiet calming slow songs.
i've been vibing so hard to all of these, honestly I love this low key chill sound they all have. I remember i'd actively avoid playing new leaf during some hours (looking at you 7pm...) because I didn't like some songs but these feel really non invasive and nice

Guys, these are not the only hourly tracks in the game! Each one of them have a variation according to the weather (Sunny, Rainy and Snowy). I believe most of these, if not all, are from the Sunny weather.

I wouldn't call it the best, but not the worst either. I'll admit I didn't like much of these tracks at first but only 2 days after first listening to this and it had grown on me so much, I love this music now, and while I still might have some critiques of the hourly music, it's amazing.

It is my first 2 days playing New Horizons as of now and I was sure they removed the 24 hour theme features because I could only hear one song regardless of the current time. I thought they would take the route of G---F---- and remove such a beloved feature that has been around since the beginning
Although the night tracks in this are more energetic than NL, I don't mind it, solely because it'll be harder to fall asleep to. I've accidentally fell asleep many times playing NL.

No it really doesn't, the original has all kinds of weird instruments and every hour was crazy different. One song was all cat meows. This is literally all ukelele and synth booping
Gamecube, as Dio Brando said, has very different hourly tunes (lookin at you 2am), and this one is relatively similar, although I have no problem with that. TBH I’m getting much more WW/CF vibes, and that soundtrack is my favorite.

Opinion time ~~ So I feel like the "Doo do do doo" main sequence is okay but it didn't need to be incorporated into every single song. If they took that part out they would sound a lot more original. It's by far not bad; it just isn't perfect. But hey we'll probably get used to it eventually and maybe it'll become as beloved as PG, WW and NL

It took me a whike to figure out why this soundtrack just wasn't clicking with me, but now I'm pretty sure it's the guitar. There's waaay too much guitar all playing the same strum, the guitar is just so overpowering and it grates on my ears after listening to the full hour. Really wishes they used less guitar, I would like it in some soundtracks, but it's in way too many for my liking

I’m not sure why I don’t like it too much?? Personally I think it’s actually the repetitiveness that I don’t like. I really like this soundtrack. It’s quiet and soft and dreamy and feels like a new beginning. But that’s probably just me. I don’t have much nostalgia tied to new leaf, I got it just last year for Christmas. Also this is the first game I’ve ever waited for and gotten on the release date. So the happy adrenaline + the experience of getting a new game probably made this make me feel happier. Idk
1. Original Nearly each hour is catchy, boppin,' and stood on it's own. 2. New Horizons The sound quality is really good, and each hour feels motivating and upbeat. No matter what time it is, it feels like the song encourages the player to play. 3. New Leaf - It's generally good, but the soundtrack is rather depressing and atmospheric at times. It often inspires me to stop playing and do something else. 4. Wild World / City Folk - I'm personally exhausted from hearing these tracks.
I guess that’s why new leafs soundtrack is my favorite I tend to get way into atmospheric sad music XD. But I don’t think new leaf would fit new horizons for me due to how much I play multiplayer this time around

It's strange hearing the songs outside my normal waking hours, then slowly transitioning to when I normally play and the songs become more recognizable. After hearing all of them back to back, 3AM, 8AM, 10AM, and 3PM are my favorites. I love the trumpet and trombone playing in this game so much.
For y'all who are saying the songs sound too similar, listen to city folk/wild world and see how similar their songs are. The nostalgia will grow in as you play the game.
@@majorkingonix1120 that's what I mean for CF/WW though. If you listen, nearly every song has the same exact phrase in it, the intro screen tune, just with a different time signature or pitch. Not to mention the instruments used are quite similar as well. In NH, the instruments and tunes are similar as well, but I would argue they aren't repeated nearly as much.

I played a ton of Wild World and at first I thought the exact same thing a lot of people are saying, every track is too similar. And guess what? That game’s soundtrack is by far my favorite and it grew on me over time. Considering the past, I’m assuming NH’s soundtrack will do the same. So far feeling a bit of the same thing, a bit similar. But some songs stand out and also NH’s soundtrack gives me quite a few Wild World vibes.

I really like how upbeat the morning themes (7am-10am) are. In New Leaf it felt like the game was slowly waking up with you and easing you into the day. Whereas this game just throws you right into the action with these bops at the start of the day.
Huh, kinda sad that nothing here hits like NL's 11pm or 1am, but all of these are so energizing in their own way. The basslines, tho, hot ziggity

I freaking love the New Horizons hourly music. Every AC game has its own style, with a soundtrack to match. To me, this perfectly sums up the "get up and go" feel of the island throughout the day, and the peacefulness once nighttime hits. The motif finds its way through each song in some way without making the music repetitive. It might not please everyone, but I think in a couple of years, the people who don't appreciate it now will look back on it fondly. I know I will ♥️

I think I pinpointed my issue with these tracks. They all feel the same. New Leaf knew how to give different vibes for each hour and change keys for it.
I know nostalgia is one heck of a drug, but the vibe in this soundtrack just isn't hitting the same...
Edit: Some of these definitely are some bangers, especially the middle of the night. I think it's the day tracks that throw me off
I don't hate them, but yeah new leaf's melody matched the time of day, now it's just too upbeat all the time.

I felt the opposite. The day time ones were some of my favorites, while I feel they sort of dropped the ball with the night time ones. I wish there was more variety in the instrumentation. 7AM, 8AM, 9AM, 12PM, and 5PM are stand outs to me. There is probably a couple more but it seems to be a case of getting used to them.

I would also like to add that New Leaf had an assortment of instruments that blended together well, while I feel that the synths present in this soundtrack are more rigid and have a less natural vibe to them. I guess it’s preference thing though, and I certainly feel more inclined to New Leaf based on nostalgia as well.
Man, people are really crapping on the music before you unlock the Town Hall. To me, it's like, you'll never get to hear it again once you unlock the town hall. The music is simple because Island life at that point is very simple. Once you start terraforming and moving things around, you sort of wish you could go back and see your island for the first time with that lonely guitar... :(
The night music sounds like day music 👻
I personally like it because the nights lively especially compared to the older Animal crossing games. The villagers and Tom nook don’t sleep at all so it would make more sense that they wouldn’t keep the same quiet calming slow songs.

I wouldn't call it the best, but not the worst either. I'll admit I didn't like much of these tracks at first but only 2 days after first listening to this and it had grown on me so much, I love this music now, and while I still might have some critiques of the hourly music, it's amazing.
Objectively speaking Gamecube had the worst soundtrack.

OH MY GOODNESS I'm so relieved to find this out! It is my first 2 days playing New Horizons as of now and I was sure they removed the 24 hour theme features because I could only hear one song regardless of the current time.

Gamecube, as Dio Brando said, has very different hourly tunes (lookin at you 2am), and this one is relatively similar, although I have no problem with that. TBH I’m getting much more WW/CF vibes, and that soundtrack is my favorite.
This game is a blessing during the coronavirus pandemic to all those who are in self-quarantine and cannot socialize outside of their home. This game should be GOTY, hands down. Thank you, Nintendo.

So I feel like the "Doo do do doo" main sequence is okay but it didn't need to be incorporated into every single song. If they took that part out they would sound a lot more original. It's by far not bad; it just isn't perfect. But hey we'll probably get used to it eventually and maybe it'll become as beloved as PG, WW and NL

It took me a whike to figure out why this soundtrack just wasn't clicking with me, but now I'm pretty sure it's the guitar. There's waaay too much guitar all playing the same strum, the guitar is just so overpowering and it grates on my ears after listening to the full hour. Really wishes they used less guitar, I would like it in some soundtracks, but it's in way too many for my liking

I feel like to polar opposite to everyone here lol. I don’t really like the new leaf soundtrack?? Well I do but I find myself often muting it and listening to something else. I’m not sure why I don’t like it too much?? Personally I think it’s actually the repetitiveness that I don’t like. I really like this soundtrack. It’s quiet and soft and dreamy and feels like a new beginning. But that’s probably just me. I don’t have much nostalgia tied to new leaf, I got it just last year for Christmas. Also this is the first game I’ve ever waited for and gotten on the release date. So the happy adrenaline + the experience of getting a new game probably made this make me feel happier. Idk
5am song is wonderful listening to at nighttime! Familiar Animal Crossing vibes with a little new twist. A treasure!

Nearly each hour is catchy, boppin,' and stood on it's own.
2. New Horizons
The sound quality is really good, and each hour feels motivating and upbeat.
No matter what time it is, it feels like the song encourages the player to play.
3. New Leaf -
It's generally good, but the soundtrack is rather depressing and atmospheric at times.
It often inspires me to stop playing and do something else.
4. Wild World / City Folk - I'm personally exhausted from hearing these tracks.
I guess that’s why new leafs soundtrack is my favorite I tend to get way into atmospheric sad music XD. But I don’t think new leaf would fit new horizons for me due to how much I play multiplayer this time around

It's strange hearing the songs outside my normal waking hours, then slowly transitioning to when I normally play and the songs become more recognizable.
After hearing all of them back to back, 3AM, 8AM, 10AM, and 3PM are my favorites. I love the trumpet and trombone playing in this game so much.

For y'all who are saying the songs sound too similar, listen to city folk/wild world and see how similar their songs are. The nostalgia will grow in as you play the game.
CF/WW are similiar, but NH uses *too much* the same tune in most of the musics, over and over again.
@@majorkingonix1120 that's what I mean for CF/WW though. If you listen, nearly every song has the same exact phrase in it, the intro screen tune, just with a different time signature or pitch. Not to mention the instruments used are quite similar as well. In NH, the instruments and tunes are similar as well, but I would argue they aren't repeated nearly as much.

I played a ton of Wild World and at first I thought the exact same thing a lot of people are saying, every track is too similar. And guess what? That game’s soundtrack is by far my favorite and it grew on me over time. Considering the past, I’m assuming NH’s soundtrack will do the same. So far feeling a bit of the same thing, a bit similar. But some songs stand out and also NH’s soundtrack gives me quite a few Wild World vibes.
