Boxing was originally bareknuckle. They started wearing gloves because fighters were breaking there hands. Gloved boxing is actually more dangerous. Because they can repeatedly hit to the head over and over, causing concussion and brain trauma. If you do that in bareknuckle you'll break your hand. Bareknuckle has more cuts and blood but is safer in the grand scheme of things.
