    Hi Chris I think you are doing a great job seeing as it all done in your garage, I do feel your pain as my booth is homemade and sits in the corner of my workshop and at times I get some nice clean job but to many of them have dirt nibs in them.
    I was using my DV1 clear gun this morning and agree it's not the fastest gun out there but it does lay the clear down nice, I normally use a 1.3 tip with the C1 cap I do have the C2 but for me it uses to much air👍
    Looking forward to seeing the door finished🙏👍 John UK

      Thanks John I might be give it the c1 cap a try I just fear it’ll be even more slower

    Man your right on with this video.....man would I like to move out of the Northeast and get a place where I can have a spray booth and much less regulations and cost to even get permission to have one.

    That looks pretty good. Everyone gets trash in their paint. Most are too quick to sand out the nibs and polish before anyone notices. Thank you for being transparent and showing your work!

      I learned that to grow I must always be honest with myself I try to show my mistakes and my successes it’s the only way to improve

    Chris-ever consider hanging the fender vertically instead of horizontally for less dust nibs? I did this in my garage a while back and noticed much less trash in the paint. Just a thought.... appreciated the updated video.

    • @Mechaniclyfe
      @Mechaniclyfe  2 года назад

      Yes I spray them either vertically or horizontally only thing is I didn’t have a place to hang it vertically on the stand it would be too low

      Chris-i got a stud finder at Home Depot to find the studs in my garage ceiling. Once located ran some bicycle hook hangers into the studs. Then ran some rope to the bicycle hooks and attached to the fender which was light weight-adjusted the the length of the rope to a comfortable height.Northing fancy but worked like a charm. Can send a picture if that would help you out.

    Less dust if you paint it vertically and if you wet the floor.

      Yes correct , sometimes I don’t have that option

    I feel your pain having to probably redo my fenders as well from paint chipping from a fall and the overspray from the clear landing back on it so it looks rough from close up I have an inflatable spray booth now hopefully that helps some I sprayed in a portable style garage at the time

    Came out good man. Which air cap do you have on the DV1?

    • @Mechaniclyfe
      @Mechaniclyfe  2 года назад +1

      I have both but I typically use the c2 air cap

      @@Mechaniclyfe i figured you'd like the C2 air cap. I haven't really used my dv1s or iwatas lately. Been using my prolite for everything.

      I thought with the c2 air cap it would be a bit faster Atleast tekna prolite speed , i feel it’s much slower than that
