In this guitar tutorial we're going to look at all the essential rhythm and lead ideas in the gypsy jazz style as applied to the techniques and sensibility of Spanish guitar players. If you play classical, flamenco, fingerstyle, latin or Spanish guitar, this lesson will give you a kickstarter to get you into this great style of music.
The classic "le pompe," the bolero, gypsy bossa and waltz rhythms are explored with guidance on how to play these with your fingers rather than with a pick. We can include flamenco guitar techniques like the rasgueo and picado to our rhythm and lead playing, and there is quite a bit of crossover between these two styles of playing as I explain here. Scot Taber Guitarist
Django Reinhardt Popularized the Steel String Acoustic Guitar in Jazz but he also taught himself how to play the Guitar w/ only 3 Fingers after his last 2 were paralyzed in an Accident, he was an inspiration. His recordings actually inspired alot of other Guitarists to get back on the Guitar after an Accident prevented them from playing.

Easy to play too and gives you a very comfortable space to play with the Gypsy Jazz right hand position as Jango 😎

I have an Altamira M01D-N which is a Nylon Strung version of their D Hole Gypsy Jazz Guitar. It's a copy of the Original Selmer Maccaferri which was a Nylon String Guitar. I just strung it up with Thomastik Infeld CF128 Classic N Flatwound Classical Guitar Strings with a Wound G for better intonation and a Slick Jazz Feel. I attached String Beads to the ends of the strings (basically like having Ball End Classical Guitar Strings) so that it's easier to restring without having to tie the strings onto the bridge. And actually it also let's the strings come out of the bridge at a steeper angle over the saddle.
