    Back in the summer of 1997. Sherri was in the bar at a hotel that my mom worked at. She was in town to wrestle for IWA Mid-South wrestling in Louisville, Kentucky. Her ride never showed and my mom said that I could take her. She wrestled Debbie Combs. She was one of the sweetest, most down to earth people that I have ever met. Her and my mom stayed in touch for a little bit. Sherri wrestled for IWA Mid-South several times. She became one of my favorite wrestlers after that car ride. She was NOTHING like her gimmick. Even had a beer with her at the bar after the show. R i.p. to a true pioneer in women's wrestling.

      @Mmoose712 she was nice too. After the show, her and Sherri were drinking together at the hotel bar. Debbie and Sherri tore the house down in the match they had. IWA Mid-South wrestled in an old KMART building not too far from me. Good times.

    I will never forget when WCW came to Florence, SC. Sherri was managing Harlem Heat. I was lucky enough to be by the aisle guard rail. I said " Heeeey, Sherri!" And she said "Heeeey!" with every bit of that gorgeous smile. As a 15 year old, I lost my mind. She was the best.

    In the early 90's my band was playing in a hotel bar near Boston when all of the wrestlers, who had just wrestled a show at the Boston Garden, rolled in for the night. Sherri was one of them. My ex-wife was a big fan so I asked her for an autograph. She was so sweet that I was taken aback because she was the total opposite of her ring persona. RIP Sensational Sherri!

    Jordan, what you said made me think about the wrestlers we grew up hating, now as adults, we understand the genius. Perfect. The psychology of these performers was top tier and we hated them because they were good at their jobs. And now we can appreciate them and how they made us believe.

    Just seeing this and catching up with some of your videos, after a long summer of live shows. I finally get a chance to relax. Sherri was amazing. She had everything it took to be a top wrestler. Like many others have said, I think it’s a tragedy how Vince McMahon ate up and spit out some of these wrestlers. Without a care for their welfare after they put their bodies on the line for his company and made him a ton of money. He couldn’t invest any of that money in making sure that they lived good for the rest of their lives. Just makes me upset.
    Fly high sensational, Sherri.

    Great review about one of the best over all worker in the women's wrestling industry I got see Sherri wrestle twice once when she was in AWA when she wrestled Candi Devine for the AWA women's title belt at the time I didn't know who i was going to root for or against until I was there so i made 2 different sign's for both wrestlers so at the Time Candi Devine had the women's title so I rooted for Candi Devine and I was either at the age of 6-7- or even 8 unsure but during the match stood up and shouted words at Sherri and as a Great heel Sherri shouted back at me " Why don't Sit back down you Little TRAMP" as she just got done choking Candi Devine on the ropes and many years later I got to relive that memory and see her wrestle on a Indy show where I told her that story about what she said and she apologized to me as I stated back that you were just doing your job getting a reaction we shared a few more stories and I thanked her for what she meant to the wrestling industry and she replied Thank you !!!! and that would be the last time before she was inducted into the WWE HOF .;

      It’s not sad.. I think it actually shows how humble and genuine she was. The fact she didn’t get Hollywood and buy some expensive mansion and still helped her mother etc so in my opinion she left this earth gracefully. And it can come off as disrespectful to many who live in trailers and take their last breaths in their trailers.

    Wrestlers are notorious for not going to funerals, It is said when Mean Gene died there were only like one or two people from the business at his service. You would think that Mean Gene would have a bunch of people show up

      DDP and B. Brian Blair were the only ones. Not even a rep from WWE.

    I bet her soul was sitting there with the biggest smile just watching you tell her story and understanding her 🥺 made me cry 🥲 if anyone in wrestling history deserves all their flowers and deserves to be a multi tune hall of famer it’s definitely Sherry.

    Jordan how very kind of you to Want to do a nice tribut. When she said " I know that I made a lot of mistakes and I hope that when I am gone people will remember the good things that I did, and the ways that I helped." and You said, "I want to tell her story from that prospective!" For MANY MANY years after I found my Father dead I remembered that he had woried that after he was gone that no one would stick up for him. that all that they would remember way the bad stuff. Yout comments hit home. Good fot you Jordan. I am sure that wherever that she is she sees what you have done for her.

    I never really got into the WWE wrestling, but back in the late 60's early 1970's as a kid the
    old school guys were awesome coming from Detroit watching Bobo Brazil the Sheik and the rest of the old school wrestlers those are the only ones I remember but this is such a sad story I'm glad you told it

    Man , when I was training to wrestle I first started with a rinky dink training "school" in Cynthiana KY and after about 6 months and a handful of matches I heard about a tryout for another company in Lexington . So me and my buddy I was training with went there and when we walked in the door I saw Sherri bustling around . I was starstruck and got nervous as hell as I had not worked with or around anyone on that level before . I mean I grew up watching her in the AWA and WWF etc... So we get in the ring and just knowing she was watching , we blew our first spot in the match !!!! But she told us to just relax and start over . We did much better after that . We then sat with her as she critiqued or match on video . She gave us hell on some stuff we did but was also sweet as could be on others . And she treated us very well and was so super nice and warm when we were just chatting afterwards . It is a memory I will never forget . It broke my heart when I learned she died .

    Thanks For the biography video on Sherri. I was a big fan of hers as well. Just curious and not being demeaning, but I’m sure she must have made enough to be financially secure, I would have expected her to have been living in a very modest home. Chris Benoit passed away within days of Sherri”s passing. I remember that heartbreaking news like it was recently
