  • This is my V2.0 DIY vibratory tumbler. The motor orientation mimics the Lot-O and IMO works great. It's super easy to build! More videos to come...

    Cool! The motion you are getting in the bowl looks great.
    If I build one I will still use the rotary drum for stage 1 but go to vibratory for the finishing stages to save time and grit.

      That's exactly how I'm doing it... I have a batch running in stage 3 now and will post the results when complete.

    Thanks for sharing! I'll use your design as a base for my next vibratory tumbler, ordered the same vibrating motor few days ago :) What do you think about this motor - is it powerful enough?

      @603Rocks  19 дней назад

      Tons of power. It's adjustable as well with the internal indented plates behind the right and left covers. It does tend to run hot but I have not seen any issues up to this point.

    Could you fish out the polished rocks and keep on using the same polishing medium indefinitely?

    • @603Rocks
      @603Rocks  4 месяца назад

      No. It's a one and done process for each stage.

      The polish looses its effectiveness after use. Microscopic rock bits contaminates.

    I can figure out how to build it from your video but what are you using for a motor and weight ?

      Make sure to use Gorilla Glue on the motor mount butt joints...

      OMG! How much grit did you add to that? I realize it's a large barrel but I only need about 1 1/2 Tbsp for 4lbs of material in my Lot-O.

    • @603Rocks
      @603Rocks  4 месяца назад

      10 tbsp of 220 & 5 tbsp's for stages 3&4

    NICE VIBE. YOU USE TO MUCH GRIT. ONE TABLESPOON WILL WORK . IT MIGHT TAKE A COUPLE OF HOURS TO GET A SLURRY, BUT IT WILL HAPPEN. SAVE MONEY ON GRIT.

    • @lv4tmnt90
      @lv4tmnt90 3 месяца назад

      Ya. If you use that much to start with, it's just going to dissolve into slury faster. I add fresh grit every 2-3 days.

    New to this hobby. So, are vibratory tumblers dry? I see u adding water and spraying… how do u know how much to add? Should things be dry or wet? Also, in a vibratory tumbler do u always have to have the ceramic media?
