Now, the mist across the window hides the lines But nothing hides the color of the lights that shine Electricity so fine Look and dry your eyes We are tired of all the darkness in our lives With no more angry words to say can come alive Jump into the car and drive to the other side….stepping out Into the night, into the light…groovin stepping out, into the night, into the light… fubba dubba dub, dayo doddle. (Sax solo) you can dress in pink and blue just like child..a and get into the taxi, turn to me and smile We'll be there in just a while….we can blah blah blah blah blah….. If you jump and follow me babe Steppin out into the night, into the light….groovin steppin out….. Me babe, steppin' out Into the night, into the light……….😊
Been a devoted fan of Joe Jackson, looking for covers of his music, about to give up until… finally my prayers have been answered, in love with this version. The control, the rhythm, insanely good 🎉❤

Well dunno about a BILLION but yeah I do like Kurt's version more. Love Joe, but always thought this song was a little cheezy, between the synth/80's drum machine a the syrupy vocal scoops it was never my favorite of his. But this is SO HIP. I feared that leaning into the jazz vocals might make it worse, but Kurt's stylings are so damn tasty (ALWAYS), it totally takes the song to the next level.
@@mirkovic Joe Jackson is one of my favorite artists. Massive amount of respect for his abilities, and I don't hate the song...it's just not one of my favorites. :)
Excellent! 🤪👍🤗✨🌹
WOW!!! What an extraordinary rendition of one of my favorite 80s tunes!!!!
Excellent!!
The greatest singer today!!!
That's fabulous
Truly a great singer with a signature voice
Excellence Becomes My Life when I listen x9 years to Kurt Elling SIR, Has Helped me out of Difficult times 🦋
Sharp that eleven (or flat that fifth?)
Great jazz singing....
I met him when I got to see him live on my 15th birthday. I travelled all the way from Adelaide, South Australia to New York City
You’re officially the coolest teen on the planet
Kurt Elling one the best singer ever!
Wie schön es war, in der Band zu spielen! Und wie wunderbar dieser Abend war...
Fantastično!!
Dear Joe Jackson, how does it feel to have Kurt Elling scat the hell out of your song? Great? Does it feel great? Yeah, I bet it does!!!
He's just so good. Great band too.
The only cat who can hold a candle to Mark Murphy. Which is meant as a compliment to both men.
kurt has often spoken of his debt to the great MM. a worthy successor!
Among the top vocalist, those who listen to kirt and his orchestra. Know.
Just wen i wanted it
Love this version! I've recently been listening to Joe Jackson singing it so great to hear Kurt's take on it. He makes songs new again.
Bravo!!!
Qué rolononononon!!!!!! 😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😱😱😱😱😱😱🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌
Kurt goes 'next level' scat singing genius. Of course I love the band too.
This man's voice is perfection
Who is the gorgeous pianist? ❤

@@deutschermusikrat Thank you
I REALLY like how heavy handed that drummer is on the snare ghosting: Real nice texture to this song!
Einfach super, muss ich doch mal los werden. Und damit meine ich nicht nur Herr Elling.

Tolle junge Musiker haben wir in Deutschland! Und Kurt ist natürlich auch super :-)
I bet this would be amazing live
I saw him play this live on my 15th birthday. Best song of the night, he did it even better then he does it here. I got to meet him after too!
Richard Fletcher It is live you douche bag.
@@ChromaticHarp I think he meant he had bet that it would great live previous to him hearing it live here.
Be nice, people.... It is a reproduction of a live event...
Love Kurt Elling, but I really which he would do some Rush songs. Like, Temples of Syrinx.
+WestWorldRobot Y'know, all kidding aside, Kurt would sound great doing something like Different Strings, provided it was properly arranged.

Mmm is JUST AS GREAT - it was Joe Jackson who wrote it, a very much underrated musician
