Thank you Brandon for that input .. my ex had a whole bunch of female friends and had a "best friend" that was a female and they would go on lunch dates together, bake alone in his place together, etc. Constantly speak on the phone and talk to each other. And one time in the car with me when he was on the phone with her he literally said "Bye Babe" to her before hanging up .... And whenever I tried to speak up about it he got upset and said i needed to trust him and without trust in him then there was no relationship ... It's really opening my eyes now on how much more i really deserve
If you are uncomfotable then yes you have to speak up and if yall can'r get on the same page then its time to maybe separate. Not telling you to do that but you have to be comfortable and its yours and his job to come to a medium to make each other comfortable

I would add to the why are men not intuned with their emotions part that, alot of men are raised to man up, not really acknowledge emotions and viewed as weak, not a man or even "Gay" if they show they are aware of emotions especially in the black household. So as adults it's hard to reprogram that type of molding because that nurturing aspect is needed from a young age. Also, alot of women in relationships don't make a man feel safe enough to open up & be vulnerable. We see it every day w/the demasculation of the masculine expecially if the feelings expressed aren't to the benefit of a woman. So it depends of the woman a man is with and also the type of man he sees himself as, because that plays a big part in how you evolve emotionally and mentally overall.

I know as a black female I saw people tell black boys they were not allowed to cry because they are boys. I don't think that black boys have had a safe space to show any feelings besides anger and happy. It's so unfair to treat boys and men like that. Totally agree with what Brandon said about cheating, I can forgive but I really don't want to spend that time trying to rekindle that trust that we once had. You just never know how long that's going to take. The Bible teaches that life is a mist, and we just don't have that type of time. And I'm not just saying this because I feel like Brandon is a cool guy, I have lived this after 20 years of marriage. Totally agree with what Brandon said about cheating, I can forgive but I really don't want to spend that time trying to rekindle that trust that we once had. You just never know how long that's going to take. The Bible teaches that life is a mist, and we just don't have that type of time. And I'm not just saying this because I feel like Brandon is a cool guy, I have lived this after 20 years of marriage. I saw all the signs and stuck in there just for my kids and it still did not work out but only got worse. That time I can never replace.
