@DerekMcA there r grunge bands out of seattle and the grunge did start around the same time as sonic youth, the first time it was mentioned was by the vocalist of the mudhoney in 81, the grunge you mention, was actualy the end of it when some bands got into the mainstream, and sonic youth is very related with grunge so it is acceptable to confuse or classify them as grunge. tolerance.

@alexwilliamson46 you're almost right. if you call it shit and them say to someone "go and smell a shit its great" and that someone does just that he's gonna think "this guy's crazy" or "he doesnt like me". music is an art of comunication and unqualifaible. jornalism is suposed to be correct and to qualify a music's group you should do it right because you're not playing music but reporting about it. and in the end it's almost grunge but it's not interely. but then again, just one more, who is?
