- Madness. I've got so much requests of this solo so here it is finally!! Slow parts are played with "something like that if it sounds good" attitude but tried to do fast part more accurate.

The fast part was really good, and that's what I came here to see, but I think you should play more blues.
Sometimes the hardest bits to play are the slower ones. The beginning of this solo (with the slides and milky vibrato) isn't played as well as the sweep picking sections towards the ending . It's a whole lot easier to mask sloppy playing when it's 30 notes blurred together than it is to conceal 5 that are spaced out over several measures. Some players lack the finger strength/muscle memory for vibrato because they strictly practice sweeps/speed picking, a phenomenon that can be easily remedied.
It's not about being amazing. Which he is. It's about playing the solo right.
Jari is never drunk when he plays live. Wintersun isn't like Children of Bodom in that way. Jukka and Teemu don't even drink alcohol. I suppose the video you saw was Summer Breeze 2005, am I correct? Jari was using a Telecaster there (which isn't a guitar meant for metal/sweeping). The guitar he's using in Tuska 2011 is the same that Steve Vai uses, and it's an amazing guitar. His technique has improved drastically too. Check this one out too:

yeah it's a bit much that it's taken 5 years now to get it out but after the first album i'm sure there will be some glorious moments. supposed to be super epic with lots of symphony and chorale. we shall see.

@metalhead4195 True though I don't think that is the situation here man i think this part sounds a little confusing people get mislead by wrong tabs and that's probably what happened i mean who would want to play that part like that i mean no offense but come on you know you cant say he did that on purpose just because it is a cover and he didn't have to play it exactly like it is so he decided to play it that way.
I'd say Stewie's ears work just as well as anyone else's... you don't need to be a guitarist to know what sounds good and what doesnt, and even amazing guitarists can play badly. The truth is that this is a pretty shoddy cover overall, the high speed parts are great and really well played, but it's not Death and the Healing.
hey dude if you could please answer this question? while sweeping, do you palm mute the strings you aren't using? if not, how do you get the strings you aren't playing not to go off? i mean, when i sweep i often accidentally get an open string to go off....thnx
yea pestilence is a good one if you wanna see riffs by rasite or then you can watch kissing the shadows or was is towards dead end or something and then of course there is Vivaldi/Bach stuff which is fucking awesome

very very impressive. the fast part was amazing, but i didn't like the slower stuff. to show some more feeling and vibrato stuff would be great. but sweeping is flawless. cheers
I heard its in diet, I seen the stuff Jari eats and it looks....healthy? Anyways glad to see more covers, always like watching them. Don't wait months for the next ones though xD
Your sweeping is amazingly clean man, just a little work to do be done on your vibrato - It's a bit too front on and could use a bit more wrist work... anyway, awesome stuff
@6EELZE6U6666 The first half isn't necessarily shit. He just didn't care to make it accurate. It's the challenging parts he cared about, but I for one would rather see the whole thing, whether the slow parts are accurate or not, than a bunch of clip-skipping in the middle of the video. And maybe he felt that way, too. Maybe not, but it doesn't really matter because it's his video either way.
Too many mistakes. I don't blame you, it's just impossible to play what he, Jari, the Lord, has created. I'm just saying the ratings vor the video are too high...
awesome work. but you should have made your amp a little bit louder. sometimes the original song is so loud that you can't hear how you're actually playing.

saw zephor's version turns out the tab at UG is possibly wrong and the bends are prob slides sounded well enough to me
The ending was epic. I thought the beginning was half assed compared to your other videos but the end made up for it.
