Really great video my friend. After a near 20 year hiatus I'm getting back into JRPGs/Strats on my Switch. Lots of great insight and footage here. Really appreciate it as these quirky titles don't get much attention. Cheers!
Thanks, Troy! And you’re right, these titles get a lot less attention than triple A stuff. I’m working on a review for the upcoming Trails From Zero release as we speak, also NIS of course. It’s gonna be awesome. Hope you’ll subscribe and stick around!
@@Emceemur happy to subscribe! (though I will now be buying this game, so you're costing me!!!) Thank you for the personal response. Look forward to checking out your other/new content. Have a great weekend brother!
Has anyone else encountered any bugs/glitches in Soul Nomad? I got stuck at a certain point in the story because the game keeps freezing, and crashing on me.
I haven't but I had a glitch in that other RPG I reviewed, Savior Of Sapphire Wings or whatever it was. Game ending glitch. Main quest locked up and I never went back. Maybe created when porting these? I dunno.
Nice review as always! I've owned both ganes before but never played them because well... backlog lol! I just got Soul Nomad on PS2 back not long ago becaude it looked great but still on the lookout for Phantom Brave! That dual pack sure is tempting! Great video and keep up the good work!
i rented it on GameFly, phantom brave was hard because they only last a few turns in battle, and i don't remember soul nomad much. i like games like this though; Disgaea like. one of my first rpgs was Disgaea 3 on ps3, i didn't even know what an rpg was until then
Yeah these have a bit of a learning curve. But I’m like you, I love games like this. And omg Disgaea. Disgaea definitely reinvents what we think we know about RPGS!! Thanks for watching this and I hope you’ll subscribe and stick around!
Great review- just wished NIS would have cleaned up that shity character sprites from ps2 era instead of leaving them here against gorgeous backgrounds now.
Amen to that. I was afraid I might’ve been alone on that thought. These weren’t even “ports” (so sick of that word) they just slapped the original game on a Switch cart ala Limited Run or something like that. The sprites look like ass. But as I did the review I wondered, would the purists want it like this? The original versions were the same deal, blurry sprites on a background that wasn’t. It’s weird.

Great review, made me decide to pick it up, one of my favorite turned based strategy games was front mission 3. Subscribed!!
Nice! Welcome to the party! I recently finished Brigandine on Switch and I highly recommend that one for tactics fans. So robust!

Following directins and leaving a comment :)
I KNEW someone would fall for that! Lol thanks for rollin through, Gary!
Haven't heard of either one of these, great video brother
I hadn’t heard of Soul Nomad but I actually like it the best out of the two!

Man, Soul Nomad is pricey now. Like an $80 game complete. I can’t believe I’ve never seen it anywhere!

Awesome review Emceemur!
We’re you truly in awe of it? Thereby ranking it… awesome? Lol
@@Emceemur soo much RPG in 1 package? Absolutely!
Cool
Looks like a good collection of some Tactical rpgs. Will have to keep an eye out for it.
Vol 2 was announced with a remake of Makai Kingdom and something else Im not familiar with. May also be worth a pickup.
Good video
Thanks! It’s a cool combo pack. Its nice to see rarer games like this get re-released.
Glad they're porting these rarer games so people can actually play them.
Exactly! Instead of everyone fawning over the possibility of the sixth time Ocarina will be ported, they should be asking for this stuff!
YAAASSSSSSS
Awwwwww YAY-uh!
Great review. Don't like grid based rpg or tatics games. Can you recommend to me a traditional RPG by NIS? I need something to sink my teeth in.
If you haven’t done the Cold Steel games, that’s what you need to get into. On PS4 since you have one.
@@Emceemur I have not played any of them.
