Your art of Lord Liquorice made my day. It's so rare I see any characters wear in that dandy-esque aesthetic and your art style just made it extra iconic.
Glad you like it! 😘

@-Tha.Honey.Kat- Mister Mint has always looked like a twink (look at the 1980’s game board of him… bro a damn lamppost 😭)
@@InvaderBBcandyland consistently manages to have some of the queerest aesthetics i’ve ever seen without even trying i love it sm
Candyland is my all time favorite boardgame. I loved playing as a kid and love queen frostine
a true icon 🙌
Same tho, it’s just simple fun.
Same 😂 Looking back it wasn’t that interesting but I was playing it for hours on end when I was a kid
You raced on the rainbow path.😅
"I see no point in playing if I can't be beautiful" - Howl Pendragon, age 7
LMAO
for anyone who hasnt seen the movie, that was his reaction to turning ginger
I was about to comment this! Glad I’m not the only one 🤣💙
870 other people with good taste! 🥂
A Howls Moving Castle reference? Sir, yessir!
I love Ghibi movies ^_^
So the reason why Candyland is so boring is because it was developed to entertain children in the midst of the polio epidemic. Because so many kids were severely disabled and/or didn't know how to read very well, this game with no words was a way to keep their spirits up. Just a small thing to bring joy to chronically ill kids. Still aged absolutely terribly though. And this was the first game that I ever learned how to cheat in, lol. I'd shuffle the cards, count the number of people I was playing with twice, and then slip the Queen Frostine card on my turn. Won every time 😅
My little sister was obsessed with this game when she was little and would make me play it every day, so I’d have my brother distract her while I “set up the board” aka count the cards and place each consecutive character card for her turn. She always won, and I didn’t need to spend hours each week playing it, so it worked for both of us lol
I tried that but failed most of the time😂
OMG my brother counted the cards one time and I was so mad, I'm pretty sure that's the last time I played Candyland!
@@Blalblalblalclogc Thats sweet lol.
Bro I loved this game sm ❤
My word, Lord Licorice is SLAYING
I mean…..
@@PidginDoll fr
He got that MWAHAHAH lookin mustache
So true @@ApolloTheLyre
YES
Candyland holds a special place in my heart cuz every night as a child, my mom tell us to “meet her at the ice castle in candyland while we dreamed.” It was sweet and I still think about it before I go to bed ❤️
Other people looking at my art: why is everything so vibrant eye popping?
My inspo:
Jolly is a vibe and I’m loving it🩷🌈
💖💖💖
Jolly is my spirit Animal, and not just because of my name💅✨
My grandparents had this game because of course they did, and they would make it more interesting to me as a kid by putting real candy on the board that you can win, I will never forget how I was almost at the end then got a card that put me close to the start
Candy Land seems to be that one game everyone has for some reason. In every single one of my friends' game closet, there was always Candy Land just collecting dust. I can only think it's a weird cultural zeitgeist where you need a copy of Candy Land to make it a home 😂
queen frostine was the love of 7 year old mes life. i always got so excited when i got the card to move to her kingdom area!
Queen Frostine was also my favorite!! I had the 2002 edition where she was an older woman with white hair and a pink dress and she was the epitome of elegance to me!! She reminded me of Barbie but older which I liked, since Barbie always looked so young in her movies :)
fun fact Queen Frostine is where i get my drag name from: Frostine Bite.
Oh that's cute, I love it
love that!
that’s actually so cool!! 😭
cool
I love that
On a side note: I always appreciate your commentary and your take is always very empathetic and understanding
YES! MY LORD! I have been simping for Lord Licorice since I first played the game when I was like 9 or 10. A lot of the box art for him is kinda nasty, there’s only a few designs of him I think actually fit him but this one here has to be one of the best. You did him well.
Have you seen the computer game version that to me is always the best
AAAA!, the original candy land character designs informed so much of my aesthetic identity after I came out, and your versions are SO AMAZING.
Ah yes lord licorice was my favorite and it shows 💀
I always had a crush on Lord Liquorice😘
OMG I LOVE TTHHOIISSS!!! I love how you can make their personalities come to life with just art
thank you 😘
No because you're completely right. I cosplayed as Mr. Mint for comic con last year but I haven't picked up the game in awhile lol.
Duuude! I *loved* that game as a kid! Queen Frostine was my favorite too!!
Ngl lord licorice was my fav 💅
He always slayed so hard
FR HE SLAYS SO HARD like kinda feminine goth king shit Fr
Reall 😭
I love that you drew Mister Mint’s undies even tho they were eventually covered🙊
omg I absolutely ADORED Candy Land, it was always a favorite. but I agree! I too would take out the box just to look at 'em.
I always felt princess Lolly didn't get enough love. Not only was she much more relatable you can throw together a decent princess Lolly costume if you're in a rush.
This brought me back so many memories
I loved the frost queen as a kid too❤
This is why I play DnD and other ttrpgs, I get to play whatever silly little character I want and I get to draw them and base them off of whatever I want
Your so good at character design
I remember being so on my knees for Lord Licorice and Queen Frostine as a kid. They slayed so hard
AMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
I'm the only one who adores princess Lollly?
Ur not the only one (:
OMG SAME! I could never finish it but like I made my own stories up and like pretended to be the candy people.
Queen Frostine was my FAVORITE character as a kid! She was Elsa to me
I loved candyland too but just for the characters. I'd set up the game when I was by myself just to see the beautiful girls and landscapes and I would play make believe in their candy world.
I had actually totally forgotten about this memory. Thank you so much for reminding me 😊
The drawing underpants before pants shows how much you actually care about your characters that you draw.
Keep it up! Love your work! ❤❤❤
Incredible!!!!! I loved Lolly so much and always wanted to live in her kingdom. I think i was afraid of the fudge monster.
Lol, man, I haven't thought about Candyland in FOREVER, but as soon as I saw your drawing, I immediately knew!! I gotta admit, just like you, the main thing I remember about the game is the art - not necessarily how much fun I had playing it, because I really don't remember playing it that much! 😅 My two favorite characters were, of course, Queen Frostine, who I wanted to be so badly because of how much she gave me Glinda the Good Witch of The North energy (I was a diehard fan of MGM's The Wizard of Oz growing up - I owned a pair of ruby slippers from the time I was three up until I was twelve), and Lolli! Although, and maybe I'm wrong, but, I could've sworn that the character was called Lollipop Princess - or at least, I thought she was "Lollipop Princess" in the version I owned from the early/mid 90s! Either that, or I just convinced myself that was the case because I do remember doing that with characters I loved from different pieces of media I consumed back then. (Like, I still remember when the first Mario Golf game was released for the Nintendo 64, and I decided that Princess Peach and Princess Daisy were sisters, and the character Plum was their cousin. Or how Rareware used to refer to Diddy Kong as DK's nephew during the DKC to DK64 era, while Cranky was DK's grandfather, so I just figured Funky was DK's cousin and Candy was DK's girlfriend.)
As a kid I would often play the Candyland computer game we had. The fun part about it was each character had a mini game you could play when you clicked on them in the game. Like decorate lollipops with princess lolly or with some of the others when you click are certain things they would react in some way. Also the character would talk to the screen, to you, and it would show you going down a path in Candyland like you actually there. Anyways it came out in 1998 I believe, if any ones interested. I remember loving this game as a kid, a fan favorite of me and my siblings.
THE COMPUTER GAME IS GOD TIER I THINK ABOUT IT SO MUCH
Also you can download a disk image of it and play it on a virtual machine if anyone was wondering :))
THE COMPUTER GAME YAS I CAME HERE LOOKING FOR OTHERS 🩵🩷🩵🩷🩵🩷🩵 god I played that shit TO D E A TH
Honestly all I remember about candyland is queen frostine. She was that iconic
I LOVED candy land because of the design. I always played as the lollipop fairy, my dad was the king, and my mom was either the ice skating princess or the peppermint guy. My favorite board game was definitely mouse trap though lol
These are beyond adorable. I really wish there was an animated show that looked like this.
It's might be just the way I live my life, but to me, these people look absolutely normal, almost like family.
This was a joke I love them very very much.
As a kid I fully believed the Licorice Lord was the bad guy so whenever I won I would use my pawn to jump on him and his area and would tell my to join in. One time one of my friends told me “stop being so annoying” of something along those lines. It really hurt my feelings and now that I think about it… I haven’t touched that game since.
I like how theyre so colorful yetthey all have diffrent styles per person
I LOVED Candy Land. It was my favorite board game as a child. It was pretty. And soothing. I think my friends were bored with it bec. I wanted to play it all the time.
no clue if youre even interested in this anymore, but... theres a dungeons and dragons campaign that was filmed for indie streaming platform Dropout called "A Crown of Candy" that is basically this but add in game of thrones level drama (and trauma). 10/10 would recommend this to anyone who had candyland dreams
My fav character was princess lolly, she was also my fav drawing you made! Thanks!
Mr. Mint MY GOD TAKE ME AWAY!!!!!
Miss these drawings! Love love love!
Lord licorice is definitely queer coded
Love the characters you’re so talented
Thank you 😘
Omg no way
this just pulled something formative out of the recesses of my brain. yes, i wanted to be the people in candyland, not the lil gingerbread meeple. yes, there ain’t a cishet to be found in candyland. How did you KNOW
Oh man i LOVED candyland. Made my mom play it with me every single day. It got to the point where she rigged the deck so that i would get every character card in order every turn.
STOP LOVE HOW U DREW MR MINT UNDERWEAR UNDER HIS PANTS 😂
As a kid my favorite part of Candyland was going into Queen Frostine's section-
I would add the Clue characters to the game and add drama😭😭
Love to see you branching out and drawing masc characters as well 😁
I used to get so mad if I didn’t get the queen frostine card😂
Those are delightful drawings.
yeah that pink guy looks so zesty
Upon googling any of the boards, one will find that it is infact the way you drew them
Princess Lolly was my absolute favorite and you did her total justice!
Mister mint 😭
Queen frostine is IT. As the younger sister, I was relegated to princess lollipop, who had hella eyebags...
For a bunch of candy they sure are a bunch of fruits.
As a child I was so sad that you couldn’t play as the character on the board I was forced to my older sister who was ten years older than me to pretend that we were the characters in the board I would always be the ice queen at the top or I would throw a tantrum and force my sister to be the lollipop princess. If she ever said no to playing that game with me I would cry and complain to my mom who would be working at the time and she would get annoyed that I was stopping her from working that she would tell my sister to play with me. Candyland was definitely my favourite game to play as a kid.
Idk about them ALL being queer coated, I can definitely see it in a few of them though
Idk if you know this but not only is your work absolutely stunning but your voice is so soothing and calming, I absolutely adore you, God bless you 😍🥰😘♥️💕🙏
Changeling the lost vibes
I saw someone on TikTok go through the evolution of each characters design and honestly I found that so fascinating
I noticed that they have changed the way the characters look in candy land now. I don’t really like them and wish they would go back to the original looks.
Same!
@@PidginDoll Better yet, they could commission you to redesign the characters and maybe even the entire board.
@@PidginDoll Or maybe a special edition Pidgin Doll version, I’d buy 2.
I use to play this game EVERY DAY! :)
So much nostalgia
Just the way you drew them
Im glad i wasnt the only one mad about not getting to play as the candy people i wanted to be princess lolly!
Also i got my main character in my book's stage name inspired by Queen frostine the stage name being Shirayuki Frostine (the character is a model)
i was literally about to make a comment about how they look like a typical gay friend group
I love the art!
HOW DARE YOU LEAVE PLUMPY OUT
You’re unbelievably relatable 🙏🙏
Mister mind is definitely giving
candyland was my FAVOURITE!! my parents never had time for us, so me and my sister played it for HOURS growing up, no help needed for set up, only 2 players, and fun, colorful cards!! we used to make up stories for each character, and imagine their lives as friends
Isn’t there a peanut lady
Gramma Nut!
Can you maybe do a Marilyn Monroe Pidgin doll, i've been thinking about One!, Btw, your art is amazing, i love your content!
I love your art work and dolls so much thank you for the joy and inspiration ❤
Queen Frostine was my first childhood crush 😭
Maybe you can make your own characters so when you play you can go passed the original characters with your own "does it make sense? "
I love that game and your drawings ❤
You just brought me back to my childhood ❤❤❤❤
so beautiful and brings back memories
I loved the candy cane lumberjack as a kid he was my first crush omg
Wow it looks amazing! You should make a life size pigeon doll and dress it up! I think it will be a fun challenge! ❤❤
I absolutely love lord Licorice! He has always been my favorite and just look at how you deew him truly a piece of art!
Dude, lord licorice was the zestiest of all characters, In EVERY variation. You're fine!
Girly your art style is so iconic i love it, such eye candy.
Im so glad you didnt listen to the haters when you were younger because your art is a blessing on this world
I love ur mini stories 😊
I was just talking to my mom about loving the art for Candyland growing up! I love your rendition ❤️
I feel you😢 I wanted to be the Candy People, and I did the same as you😂 just took the game and just look at the board ❤
I only played Candy Land once or twice in my childhood. I was more interested in Chutes and Ladders generally, but I really did love to stare at the art on the board and box for Candyland. It was beautiful and whimsical, and all the characters were beautiful. Love them in your style BTW!❤
i used to rig the deck before asking my grandma to play with me and put the queen frostine card towards the top of the deck. i would calculate out how deep in the deck i would need to put it so as not to be 'suspicious' but still get a massive head start in the beginning. it didn't always work but i thought she was pretty.
This is a serve. Like wow this is stunning. Periodt
I loved Candyland because of how simple it was and it was just a original and a classic to me
I loved the candy land characters so much!! I think Queen Frostine might have been my favorite too haha.
