Replaced my 2017 Prius Prime filter which had the frame. Removed the old filter from the frame and fitted the new filter into the frame. My replacement filter is a Fram CF12157, fit perfectly into the frame. Thank you!
Very similar to the Gen 2 Prius. I changed them once a year whether it needed it or not. I refuse to overpay the dealership for the simple task of replacing air filters. However, do yourself a favor: Don't completely remove the glove compartment door. It's a little difficult to put it back in place. Just empty all contents and let it hang.
Thank you very much. Toyota wanted an outrageous amount to change it for me plus the high cost of their filter, like 4 times as much as the Bosch I bought from Amazon
Could you please make a video showing how to remove that plastic cover under the back seats (on the right side) and clean the HV battery air intake/filter?
Thank you for the video, very informative! Side question: Where did you get those rubber floor liners? I'm searching the Internet but cannot find any... :(
Strongly recommend the floor mats when purchasing the Prius, OEM factory set includes mats for all four seats and nice mat that covers the floor in the back hatch.
Yes, you can purchase the filter frame from Toyota. I think Toyota sells that filter frame separately. You will have to take the old filter out and put a new one in to replace it. Toyota doesn't sell an all in one as 1 piece.

Thank you for the video. I thought I could never can do by myself but I did it!
Glad I could help!
I didn't need to change my filter but my glove compartment felt like it was stuck. The filter cover has fallen off.
Thank you so much for this video!

Nice. I just did my car a 2012 g37 and this is my gfs car. Mine took like 20 minutes! Had to undo 2 trim oieces and 6 screws. This is so much easier
Thank you! I just changed the air filter in 1 minute.

Thank you!
Just replaced mine. Left the frame out as the non OEM filter wouldn't fit inside tray. Not a problem.
Thanks, good tip.
Thank you for the video, very informative!
Side question: Where did you get those rubber floor liners? I'm searching the Internet but cannot find any... :(
You welcome, those rubber floor liners were Toyota dealer OEM floormats.
Hi, I have a 2018 Prius with the same rubber floor liners. They are original Toyota parts, you should be able to get them at any Toyota dealer.

Is the airflow arrow in the filter supposed to be same direction as the arrow in the plastic holder?
Yes for the OEM filter
Thank you very much.
Thank you very muc!!!!
can be cleaned or only replaced?
If it’s just some leaves it can be cleaned. If it’s gray and dirty replacing it is best. Will have to look. Most cases for me is replacing it.
Thanks!
Awesome thx !
Thank you for your movie Michel french user
Theres a frame around the filter. Can u buy a filter with frame or you have you just take it out of the frame and put a new one

Wow.
Anyone with issue even it's clipped. It won't close
What about the tray that holds the filter?
That tray is where you will put the new replacement filter in
Does part # 87139-YZZ20 fit a 2016 Toyota Prius?
It does not
Mine is so hard to push the glove box sides in. Even strong husband couldn’t get it to move.
Should’ve been that hard. Just squeeze the ends inward near the top of the glove compartment to remove.
