Great video! Just a heads up, you only need to rename the cue and not the bin - a proper cue parser was added in not too long ago so multi-bin/track cue-sheets should also work. I'm hoping to get some more work done on a menu soon, just got busy with the holidays, other projects, and the real world 🙂
Hey another reset board for the PS1. I'm always happy to see them being used in videos :). Will's board makes it so easy to install. I wish I thought about that when I first programmed/designed the PS1 reset board lol.
FYI, wills console is officially hanging up his boots after some personal issues, so everything in his online store is still for sale until everything sells out, wills console will no longer be making or selling anymore products.
Will isn't hanging his boots up anymore, after speaking to him recently I'm happy to hear he has sorted a more reliable payment processor and will be relaunching his website shortly
@@tunertom3677that’s great news! My experience with WillsConsoleMods has been great and I’m glad he’s got things sorted out. I recommend him to everyone in the hobby
Hey i saw an old reddit post of yours saying you were trying out some mars pro ps2 chips, howd those go? Ive got some modbo 1.93 otw but found a few mars pro forcsale, wondering your thoughts.
I picked up the Raspberry Pi Zero 2W with the Argon pod case and HDMI Hub and picked up a Nacon wired compact Playstation controller. I need another controller though for two player Fisherman's Challenge Trilogy.
You guys are super cool! 👍😊 Can you tell me about these games "Dino Crisis 1" and "Duke Nukem Time to Kill"? will it work in the future? Otherwise, this game gets stuck on a black background with the PS logo when it starts, and everything doesn't load anymore... It seems that there is probably a regional restriction that prevents the game from running.🤔
People have tried high capaciitance on ram modules, and discharged with visible arcs. The pc was on, everything worked without a hitch. I guess ics are more resilient than we think. I don't think such a low power device would have powerful capacitors to get hurt by either. Although I still handle cpus and ram sticks with utmost care, always grab by the edges, never the flat sides, not even if they have shields over them.
Haven’t been afraid since I put together my first pc in 09. Haven’t used an antistatic grounding band since either. Many builds and projects completed in the last 15 years. Nothing has been damaged when building or soldering from static. Just from bent pins or burnt components. :)
I know what i'm about to say is dumb and hilarious, but if that can work with the ps2 (slim and fat)....i'd definitely buy it. But as of now, i'd buy it for one of my consoles that have a bad laser
This is really cool, a while ago I just used an Arduino as a mod chip and burned CDs to play on it but I've moved on from PS1. Maybe if I see one for like 10 bucks ill get one again.
I maybe make a custom Picostation compatibilă for original PlayStation and even for psone with rp2350 microprocesor and esp32 s3 for wireless and a 4mg for internal storage and a microsd slot even to have a psone suport
Could someone just modify the actual UNIROM bootloader UI to add an option to search an SD card? Then you just have Picostation boot UNIROM and use the UNIROM UI to find the game you want to play and start it.
it can be made, but its not that simple. the sd card only communicates with pico. so you need to implement a custom loader that browse files over cd signal bus(or maybe serial port with extra wires?), then get those signals and parse within ps1 loader, then send the selected game to pico, then pico loads the game

Are you sure? I thought he changed his mind about that.

Finally! Been waiting on this video follow up!! Thanks!!!
Nice, I hope additional motherboard revisions will be possible someday
Everything sounds great

Straight to pcbway 🤘🤘
Looks awesome i can't wait till it has a ui
Mic sounds great
Now we need a menu or something?
I got an X-Station from SAG a few years ago when they were really popular. I gotta say, I'm intrigued by this
The man, the myth, the legend. 🤝
To confirm, is music working in THPS2, just turned off for DMCA? THPS without music felt cursed
@@crownsuponcorpses yeah I turned it off so the vid didn’t get claimed
I have my x-station installed in my 1001 model might do this to my other ps1.
very cool

What is the status of mStation, successor of Xstation that should be completely solderless plug n play solution?
Can these projects be adapted with the newer Pi Pico 2?

Is the sound clipping on boot a capture issue or from the picostation?

It triggers me that you keep touching/rubbing the pcb. Don't people fear static anymore?

Just updated the description, the board is up on github to make.
Where can i get this
I'll have them on the modshop once a UI for game loading becomes available

Blows my mind you can run PS1 games on an RP Pico.
It's not playing on the Pico is it? I think it's just a loader and plays the games on the actual ps1.
@@JoshLineberry yup, just a loader. The point of this is making an already cheap xstation, cheaper.
