Zwift is never boring for me. The riders that are riding next to me give me the motivation to keep up or try to beat. Every time im on Zwift, im sweating on my floor. Its alll personal preference . Zwift has many many workout plans not just riding casually. Its loaded with features
Well said! Zwift is an amazing cycling app and I love how it can run on PC, Mac, iPad, iPhone, Apple TV 4K, etc. With that said, it's definitely personal preference and what motivates us the best. I found with Zwift that I became "too relaxed" and just "continued to ride." With Peloton app, someone is always in my face pushing me. There is definitely more scenery to enjoy in Zwift though and I like how they mix the scenery up. For me, the perfect Zwift would be real environments vs. computer-generated worlds. I think it's the fact that it feels like a cartoonish video game that makes it not motivate me enough. I do like all of the stats that Zwift track though and how total mileage continues to stack up like a car's odometer. That adds to the realism. It'll be interesting to see what Apple Fitness+ will bring to the table later this year. I'm looking forward to that because on paper it could be the perfect device-agnostic exercise experience, assuming of course that Apple executes well! Keep on Zwifting! It's a great fitness tool!
Thanks for comparison. I think we are about same age, and I have had same journey/feelings about cycling in real world. Grew up on bikes and rode for years but after a couple close calls feel unsafe on roads since cell phones.
Thanks for the comparison! I just ordered a Sunny bike that’s comparable to the Schwinn bike and I’m trying to decide which app will be best for me. I use to do spin classes and even taught spin classes over 15 years ago. The Peloton app sounds like the better option for me.
I have both (Peloton bike and a Wahoo Kickr). I like riding on my bicycle using Zwift while running the Peloton app in the background for the music and motivation. Best of both worlds in my opinion.
Thanks for video I was wondering about Peloton, for now I will stick with Zwift. Also , a few weeks back we discussed how to adjust the resistance on the IC4 to improve my Zwift experience. It was a total game changer, I am loving it, my workouts are crazy intense now. Take care bud.
Awesome! I’m kind of on the fence regarding Zwift and Peloton. I like the simulator and virtual trophy aspects of Zwift but Peloton provides such a better workout for me. I think that I’m going to cancel Zwift for now and only use Peloton. I can always come back in the future if Peloton becomes boring.
Thank you so much for your videos. I have been using the peloton app for some time but have a sunny and things don’t work at well with the app. I am either thinking of the IC4 or the actual peloton and your really pushing me towards ic4. Thank you for sharing 🤗
I’m in love with the IC4. It’s affordable, reliable and Peloton App monthly is nowhere near the cost of Peloton subscription for Peloton bike. I linked everything within this video’s description, in case you decide to order one :) #IC4
Tks for the video! Were you able to link a smart bike trainer with peloton app? I have saris trainer on a road bike at home, being using zwift but really intrigued to start with peloton app instead. Wondering if Peloton app will connect with saris trainer. Any ideas?
Never tried that but the bike like I use works great! I actually made the switch to Apple Fitness+ a while back and enjoy it even more. Check the link within this video's description to the bike like I use. Cheers!
Just got my IC4 and have been messing around with it and the Peloton app. After a bunch of research it seems only way to get cadence and heart rate on the Peloton app is with iOS. Will not show with android. Firestick is basically android.
Thanks for the heads up! Yeah, I run Peloton app on iPhone XR and then Airplay to my TV. The audio comes through my TV’s soundbar/sub and sounds fantastic. I was never able to make it work with Fire Stick 4K but with a charged iPhone, I’m good to go. #Peloton
@@IrixGuy No problem. I also found this interesting and it might help other people. If you are on your iPhone and watching a peloton video, if you click on the video and choose to "cast" from there, either with Airplay or to Chromecast the stats won't display on the TV. The video will go to the TV but the stats will be lost. The only way to get the stats to display is to "mirror" whats on the iPhone. To do that you have to swipe down form the top left corner of your iPhone to get to the command center and choose mirror screen. I watched your other video and see that is how you got yours to work. But its interesting that if you are in the Peloton app, click on the video while its playing, choose the little icon to cast it to the TV, it does cast but it loses cadence and HR on the tv.
That is a great tip and thanks for sharing! I haven’t tried Peloton App on Apple TV 4K yet by the way. Have you? I wonder if the native Apple TV 4K Peloton App would show stats on the screen?
@@IrixGuy I don't have any apple devices. I'm am android/google guy. Only reason I was able to test the iPhone was my sister came over and I used hers. From what I read apple tv would not show the info but I don't have first hand knowledge. You would basically have to do what you are doing now, mirror the iPhone to apple tv so there really would be no point As an Android user I use Trax on my phone. Shows me cadence ,speed, estimated power, heart rate. Then I just watch peloton workout on my tv with the peloton app. I can not believe schwinn made the cadence/rpm a bar graph instead of just a field that displays the actual number. If they did that I wouldn't even use my phone.
Zwift is great and so is Peloton. My suggestion would be to try each for a ride. You’ll probably know after a ride or two which is the best app for you.
@@monkeypuzzler My pleasure. Speaking of this, I'm getting ready for today's Peloton App workout. This thing has really worn me out and that's a positive =)
Good info. I’m new to this, but just got a keiser m3i and am looking for a setup like you have (tv on the wall). I’m only interested in bike applications. I know Penolton has a monthly sub fee. Does zwift also have fees?
On the IC4's display, yes! Within Peloton App, it's heart rate and cadence. If you do the Peloton "Outdoor" activities like walking it tracks mileage. So when I do Peloton cycling indoor workouts, I just look at the IC4's computer screen to track virtual mileage. Zwift is a different animal and tracks virtual mileage within the Zwift app.
Using my Peloton for the last 5+ years has helped me be a stronger road and track cyclist. Their addition of floor exercises has been a welcome part of my improvement journey. If you go the route of purchasing the Peloton, use code YQBGBR for $100 savings.
Before I tried it, I thought that it was just marketing hype. The cycling workouts in the Peloton App are incredible! Keep in mind that I do it with my IC4 bike to reduce cost of the bike and cost of the monthly subscription.
Zwift is great but Peloton creates a more intense workout for me. Also, Apple Fitness+ is coming soon and it will be interesting to see how that compares to Peloton.
I wouldn't say they were aimless rides. I'd categorize them a bit more like peloton is more of a boot camp, whilst Zwift is the war. you need to use Zwift for a while to unlock many features, the idea is a bit more like a computer game where you strive for achievements, improve you ftp. Not many people make it up Alpe du Zwift without shedding more sweat than they've ever done before, that is before you attempt to join a race, the idea being that you're actually cycling up hill as the resistance changes with climbing, not sure that's the way these spin bikes work, but a normal bike on a smart trainer is what Zwift is all about. Peloton is a fitness app, Zwift is a cycling app, the workouts in peloton improve your fitness, the workouts in Zwift improve you cycling which in turn improves your fitness.
Roadies are mostly like ”I do my effort and ride how i see fit” so #Zwift is that way when interactiv trainer make it like riding on road. #Peloton mayby more for the fitnessbikers who like things be preprebt and organiced upfront. (Spellcheck😗😁)
It’s so simple! If you want an even simpler experience, check out my IC4 Apple Fitness+ video. With that, you just strap on the Apple Watch, fire up Apple Fitness+ and start pedaling! I’m still fat because I eat too much but it’s EXTREMELY motivating!
