@@MegaAndrew1213 it honestly was looking back at the lackluster games in semis and finals. two 3-2s, 1 3-0 against Korean, 3-1 Fnatic all in quarters. This game would have flipped the narrative of whether or not LPL was really better than LCK. 3-2 for KT means (probably) that korea, even battered by MSI, are still the best region in the world. After battling their way through GRF, and even with them being the last korean seed (something we rarely see), KR still denies any region (outside of EU S1) a worlds victory.
@@oddfind KT were LCK Summer Champions, the 1st seed, not last. Korea clearly dominated since 2013 until 2017, excluding MSI 2015 and Rift Rivals 2017, where the LPL only fell behind LCK in almost every year and tournament, except for WC 2015 that had a timed lane swap strat that completely played against the LPL playstyle and they lost against almost everyone, once that was removed and the LPL was rebuilding and trying to master the macro game, they returned to their 2nd place only behind LCK in 2016. 2018, it was the year the LPL started to show they've become better than the LCK, All Star 2017, MSI, Asian Games, Rift Rivals, WC 2018 group stage and quarterfinals, while other regions showed they could compete with them that year, although, EU mainly has G2 performing for the whole region, but, there's not a clear EU dominance over KR, Gen.G was beaten in the group stage 0-2, while the rest even in 2019, they just went 1-1 in every LCK Vs LEC match, also, AFs 1-1 G2 in 2018, and GRF had dominant victories, 2-1, over G2 in 2019. NA went back to show they can't compete against KR and it was their only good team at almost every year, and even C9 lost once against GEN in 2018. What I noticed from LCK teams, after their loss at Rift Rivals 2017, it's they felt the rivalry with the LPL, before that event they were saying they don't have a rival. Until this day, I see they take it personal while playing against LPL teams, so, you can see their matches have that vibe of being "played to the death", thus, they become way competive. When they face other regions, they give it a different approach. The LPL definitely become the best region until this point, pre WC 2020, they could lose this World Championship, but, still they have the most competitive league, they can find local talent, Bin, Huanfeng, Jiumeng, ppgod, yuyanjia in this year, they can spot talent from elsewhere, too, and they can improve the level of most import players, as it happened to Deft, while EU has G2 doing as they wish in LEC, always followed by FNC as 2nd, KR always has the same teams or players at the top, even when RNG and EDG were the face of the LPL, they had to go through a fierce competition that could also come from the bottom LPL teams. You know when the attitude changed? It was after WC 2017 Semifinals, although, it was only Uzi's words, it later got reflected in how the LPL teams performed, he said they all regretted how they played those semifinals, that they restricted themselves from playing the way they knew and they tried to play as others did, but, they were no longer going to do that and now, they're going to play as always. 957 more or less said in an interview at All Star 2017 semifinals before facing the KR team about facing KR before the final, the rival doesn't matter, you have to win against whoever is in front of you, if you want to take it all. Rift Rivals 2019 was a stepback from this, the teams that played there, except for iG and Doinb, the rest didn't play outside of the LPL before, it looked like facing a different environment affected their confidence, they played very uncharacteristically, while iG again showed that year they were in decline, redeeming themselves against GRF at WC quarterfinals. FPX, later in Rift Rivals final, showed how those teams, loss or win, should have played, instead of what they did.
KT didn't choke, iG were simply better than them. KZ and LZ didn't choke either, RNG were better than KZ and SSG completely knew how to beat LZ in 2017, which they mostly did for almost one year.

45:26 JackeyLove with the huge, game changing play and that allowed iG to get the Baron and Elder Dragon later. 55:27 Ning with a great outplay with his carry build Kindred, full of decisiveness to finally close the series
Hann Soo no that’s a joke. You miss the ending The ending is that Rookie came back from KT room and his teammates asked him what the coach said then rookie told them “I don’t know because he speaks Korean”. XD implying that rookie speaks very very good Chinese and of course he is putting 100% effort and definitely not gonna troll.
You should give credit where's due and you should admit that if it wasn't for the rest of iG, particularly JackeyLove who finally turned around the match in favour of iG, TheShy would have lost by himself this set 5 against KT, he didn't play Sion well and he was just losing life and provoking the death of Baolan at 44:37 who went to save him after his misexecution, which wasn't the only one he did there. Bonus: This Ning's on-point decision and play 55:30
Score underwhelmed. Highest rated jungler. Hey I'm actually his fan but I knew his mechanics are bad and his team fighting is really bad. He's no playmaker and he doesn't help Deft in team fights. He just likes to sit back in team fights and pray for his teammates to do well instead of setting them up. Bad team fighting is a sign of bad micro and mechanics and instant decisions. Score likes early game with no action so he can just use his brain, which he is best at. Has clear signs of strength and weaknesses.
So happy that the Koreans didn’t win again. They are always winning worlds and it’s time for something new. Sadly I doubt NA will beat the next Korean team cuz it’s NA. So hopefully EU can do it.
Because, iG had better mechanics and decision making, also, showcased on those unexpected calls and plays, 45:32 most teams wouldn't expect an ADC to do what JackeyLove did there and that was even a 4vs5, and they made outplays, too, like this one from Ning at 55:28. Those are some characteristics of the LPL playstyle, having the willingness to fight, move forward and always trying to find window opportunities to beat and outplay the other team, like how RNG beat KZ with that great and decisive call at the MSI final, Uzi also had a match where they finally beat JDG in the LPL, he got an unofficial quadra in an extended teamfight which was 4v5 in favour of JDG, he went alone in a 1v3 to finally get a 0x5 Ace.
Ning, TheShy, Rookie have better team fighting and micro. Score has always been bad at team fighting (upside good pathing but bad mechanics). Smeb isnt a good team fighter but he benefitted a lot in Tigers doing the set up and playmaking for him, especially Pray, Kuro, Peanut or Gorilla. They were selfless and let Smeb shine a lot. Score isn't the kind of playmaking jungler. KT only has Mata as playmaker. The jungle top doesn't also help Deft do his thing in team fights. Only mata helps him. If KT played through Deft like EDG did, they'd be better team fighters but the topside do their own thing.
Korea used to be the best at it, like SKT in 2013 and SSW in 2014, while LPL always had the best teamfighting skills. In the LPL, if you're not good at mechanics, micro game, fast decision-making in split seconds and your team is not good at teamfights, you have no future there. After 2015, LCK focused on mastering the macro game, vision control, playing around farming and objectives and learned to deny teamfights, too. Once the meta moved to a more micro game, mechanics and teamfights and the LPL mastered the macro game around that same time, while they also integrated it to their traditional playstyle, well, you already saw the result of all of it. Taking aside the times, the LPL teams and players certainly didn't play well, usually against LCK teams in the past, with the style SKT and the LCK imposed, they could fall behind through the macro game, farming, wave control, etc. and then, they weren't able to do anything, while also the vision and players denied them teamfights, even Shen or Tahm Kench used to work to make them look hopeless. LPL players also learned how to play against that, later.
I feel like, overall, the changes riot made to vision and the vision game (most recently the jungle ward item) hurt the koreans with their makro style a lot
After PapaSmithy said that, some people thought the same, of course, that affected in part the LCK playstyle, which could deny ganks and fights because of it, but, there are other factors and changes to the meta which played against them, see for example PVB from Vietnam, they had a good macro control, but, they never were ready to teamfight, which was a comeback tool in this meta, then, they threw away their leads because of losing at teamfights, same for Korea, they wanted to play slow with macro control, then, once they were outpaced, they couldn't deal with all the aggression, also, they're not capable to make calls like RNG did against KZ at MSI or China did to Korea at Asian Games or iG did to KT on this last set, also, LPL can engage in lane duels, while LCK want to avoid those. EDG also fell into that trap of slowing down matches while they had the lead in quarterfinals, then, they threw possible victories there by playing scattered and trying to push 3 lanes at the same time and then getting caught in unfavourable teamfights, meanwhile iG, in this last set versus KT, decided to prioritise the laning phase, they wanted to play a more slow match, but, the difference with EDG was iG were ready to teamfight and outplay the enemy team and they never let KT command in any aspect. This was a meta which rewarded execution, mechanical plays and proactivity, that was clear in Spring and it was the reason why KZ were stomping everybody else in the LCK, they were the only proactive team there, AFs and KT defied them in that regard, yet KZ outplayed them, but, again, KZ like other LCK teams, they couldn't make that kind of unexpected and decisive calls LPL teams do, another difference it's LPL junglers can take different paths to gank, while LCK junglers have more common and predictable routes. Even in the LCK some teams lost because of the other team engaged when they thought they weren't going to do it, AFs Vs KZ at the LCK Spring final, it's one example, while AFs just were prepared to retreat from a skirmish where nobody died, KZ decided to continue the fights and they chased AFs almost from nexus to nexus, a lot of LCK teams lost like that in Spring and Summer, while some just were trying to place a ward, the other team could be ready to catch them and destroy them. The mindset of LCK teams and how they've learned to play the game since 2015, they can't replicate those aggressive plays, nor deal with them, KT Vs GRF was a final with many aggressive plays from both sides, but, at the same time, they just were provoking throw after throw to both teams.
53:35 No flash or Zhonyas from smeb. Didn't even try to use it until the game was basically over. He's such a massive choker any team with him as top laner will never win worlds or live up to their potential.
Smeb only had 1 good game, against Duke. Ucal is no better, outclassed entire series by Rookie even with 5 mid bans. Score also invisible really with no playmaking and bad team fighting. There is no question why KT would lose. IG has better solo lanes and the jungler had more guts than Score and was a playmaker. Wasn't at all afraid by Score.
Score could have really won this series if he didn't choke. KT have worse solo laners in lane and team fight and a jungler who can't be playmaker after early game and peel for Deft in team fights. KT is solely relying on Mata to be the playmaker just like in Griffin finals. I love Score but tf, he underperformed so much in this series. You can't just be smart early game with pathing and do nothing after. Team fight is about micro instant decisions and that's been his weakness as jungler aside from smiting. That's why he was so passive as adc. He let's others be the playmakers but jungle isn't that kind of role. You have to have guts and have to sacrifice and let your teammates shine and be the playmaker. Score is the kind of jungler who just wants to play back. That's why Deft shines more in KZ than he did in KT, they have worse players but not selfish who let's Deft shine.
Honestly, what is this draft from kt? You have your superstar toplaner on a noncarry, and you put your superstar jungler on a pick that's more or less useless against 60 percent of the enemy team... I love IG and this series is legendary, but Kt could've won this.
They finally beat kr at worlds, but when nobody cares anymor league, not even the good kr teams cares, no skt no ssg, most players are playing fortnite, cod bo 4, and red dead redemption, who cares league of legends anymore
Love when people make excuses for themselves and they want to live in denial. Of course, you'd be saying the opposite if a Korean team would have won the WC. Good Korean teams? haha, you're just basing that on previous tournament performances, that's like saying Samsung was a great team in 2015, which they weren't, just because SSW and SSB happened in 2014 and it's not they didn't care, it was they reached their limit and they couldn't move further. Yes, mention any video game and think they're all esports (which by the way, some even just watch those while they don't play the actual game), just because they're video games. Also, who cares about basketball? Most of the world play football, right?
@@nearlight1315 I don't play league anymore and I know a lot of people that stop playing league, stop following the competitive and despite their poor seasons updating it coincides with a poor World championship lvl, like fnatic getting to a final I mean LOL, it doesn't happen since season 1, reddit rumors of league being dead , and i can continue with more statements, not excuses, they're facts. Sorry if you just discover league, or you're been playing it since alot of time ago, but league isn't the same as one time was.
@@juanescutia5845 You just repeated the same point with different words. By the way, year after year, Reddit say League is dead and they complain about everything, so, like the rest of what you say, that's all irrelevant. I also love the classic "I know people who did this, now, the world's ending", of course, things aren't going to remain the same, especially on these things, yet, that doesn't matter, people can leave others might join and even if they don't, things will go on. When I said excuses, I didn't mean in relation to the game, I was talking about these poor arguments of why Korea lost, like saying the teams don't care, even if League was dead, they still had something to win for themselves this whole year.
@@nearlight1315 Hmmm maybe you're right, but i mean there's alot of coincidence, the NA base players going to games like fortnite, fortnite competitive is still improving, but now we can just see NA and EU fortnite, but in KR there's fornite competitive too, but epic games are not riot and they can't do like a world championship as of now, but that doesn't mean KR players aren't going to other games too thus lowering the overall KR lvl. I can tell you that it's not just coincidence, i can see myself the low lvl of play on NA servers , i've been playing since season 3 and stop playing the last season, i got barely to master, most of the time diamond 1 and it was so hard trying to get to master even diamond 1 was so hard. recently i played in platinum 1 and i got to master mmr and they match me against masters and some challengers, and i can tell you they were like diamond 3-4 form last season, and i was like yeahh league is not the same anymore. So maybe you are right but maybe I'm right just for being sceptical, but neither of us have the data to prove our statements.
When I die, I want KT to lower me into my grave, so they can let me down one last time.

Skt hôm nay cũng thua g2 nên chúng m hãy thông cảm cho kt nhé
53:35 No flash or Zhonyas from smeb. Didn't even try to use it until the game was basically over. He's such a massive choker any team with him as top laner will never win worlds or live up to their potential.
Did you missed game 4?
wow this iron player know nothing about smeb's legacy in LOL history...just wow...
Wasn't at all afraid by Score.
welp.. there it goes my pick'em
Captain Flowers crushed these calls.
Mata's mistake was so tragic
The talliyah pick was troll.
GG WP!

Steve Cheng Remind ur wording, it’s “took” than “stole”...KT would have chance to get the cup but obviously IG is better
