    I’m Daniela I have been diagnosed with several chronic illnesses. I look normal, I do things, have a job and go on vacations, but inside I'm sick. I live with several chronic illnesses and they affect my daily life. I am in constant pain and struggle with brain fog. Although I'm constantly looking for new doctors, new treatments and solutions I have also accepted my illnesses and do not let them define me. In this channel, I share a little bit of everything. Information about my conditions, my travels, my dreams, my journey, my life. This channel is about life through chronic illness lenses. Come and join me and see what I'm up to lately.

    A very well done Vlog, Daniela! 👏
    We have to hold on tightly to these “healthy” lifestyle changes….it’s the best thing we can do for ourselves. Nobody else can do this for us….we can get encouragement/support from our loved ones and friends, but it’s really up to us.
    I have discovered over the years of living with Fibro flares that our bodies can/will react negatively to even the “good habits” also, like exercise/walking/isometrics, yoga, Tai-Chi, etc., (too much of a good thing ??), but if we continue on repeating these good habits, the body will slowly adjust and the brain will not react negatively to the same things we were doing weeks/months earlier. We have to pace ourselves too and be very patient with forward progress ….it will take much longer than most are willing to wait/commit to, but a better version of the current “you” can be attained!
    The nature of this illness (Fibro) is very depressing/frustrating beyond comprehension! We start to lose our patience, we don’t sense forward progress (because it’s so gradual)……then when we’re in a new flare, we slip backwards some degree from the progress we were slowly making the prior month….I have been thru 5-6 major flares over a 25 year period (lasting many months). After each successive flare I would reflect on these debilitating experiences and say to myself, “I know what to expect now, I’ll be able to cope better this time”, but there’s always “curveballs” in life that are beyond one’s control (like a family responsibility, taking care of a sick loved one, an unexpected injury/sickness, etc) that can create a flare that becomes very difficult to keep from worsening over time….we then need to find new ways to cope in order to survive the perfect storm we managed to find ourselves in…..at all costs, we cannot lose our sanity….everyone’s level of disability will vary day to day, month to month with fibromyalgia….it’s always changing…..and because of this we will have to adapt and find new coping skills to better stay afloat and retain our sanity.
    I was always bewildered by what my body is trying to “accomplish” whenever my fibro worsens. With Fibro, it seems as if your body/brain is way over reacting to external/internal stimuli….I believe it’s overcompensating, thinking it has to protect you from these stimuli in order to survive…..and, in turn, causes a whole series of negative, debilitating reactions on your body if these stimuli don’t subside…..the mind/body, however, can also “relearn” that most all of these stimuli are not life threatening, and your nervous system doesn’t need to go into hyper-vigilant mode in order to survive/thrive.

      As always, you nailed it. Your advice is always so wise. I hope people read your comments because they have so much value. I'm at the stage where everything aggravates my symptoms and I just need to push through to get to the point where my body gets used to it. Overreacting is a perfect way to explain. It's like any little change, my body freaks out and thinks it's a threat but if I persist slowly it eventually figures out that it's okay. I have experienced a lot of physical and emotional trauma, so I can't blame my brain for wanting to protect me. We just need to find a compromise.

    Great vlog! I'm starting my healthier habits and fitness journey this year as well so this will help keep me motivated.
    I actually started physical therapy for fibromyalgia and first I wasn't sure if I'd continue. My Rheum helped gently motivate me to keep it up but go slow. I'm interested to see your gym as I'm putting one together myself. Glad you got out for that walk-I love walking.Nice to see you and your fam all being chef at the same time in your kitchen. Your daughter reminds me of you somehow and she's beautiful!

    The bathroom is looking amazing! Love the colors and textures! And I totally understand about all the work juicing is. I used to do that too! It's very good for you though, and sometimes I think I should try it again. When I did it I was living with my parents and used their machine, so I'd have to get one of my own. Smoothies are also a good way to get in nutrients!

      @tt_looking_glass  Год назад +1

      Thank you so much. And yeah, I find myself craving the juices. I guess my body is starving of nutrients as eating has been quite a struggle for me. It got a lot better once I got my migraines under control but I’m finding that as I’m approaching the date of having to take my second dose the migraines are coming back and so is the nausea. I guess the medication is getting low in my body, so I’m hopeful that once I take the second injection they will go away again as they did after the first one.

      @@tt_looking_glass sometimes our bodies crave the right things😉. I crave kombucha if I don't drink it regularly! Started brewing my own because it gets so expensive. It's quite fun, but a bit of work. I'm so glad your first injection helped you so much! Hoping they will continue to help you❤️.

    Bathroom is looking great! That breakfast looked so good!!! 😋. I can't wait for your next video, my goal for 2023 is also to move more. 2022 i did a lot of healing, but was pretty stagnant mid-end of year. We have some of the same conditions, so it'll be interesting to see how you do things! By the way, I really need to be more like you with my coffee, sip don't gulp. Then 2 cups won't turn into 5-7, then maybe get off my adrenal supplement 😆🤣. So glad you're doing better with the migraines, sorry about the fibro flare! As always, hang in there, stay positive, and keep on going! I will always be rooting for you ❤. Have a great 2023, Daniella!

      Thank you so much. I’m really looking forward to seeing the renovation done. You are like my husband then. He gulps his coffee and ends up drink too many cups a day. Lol! This year I definitely want to focus on my health. Last year I though if I just went off work that my health would come back but it has not been the case. I’ve realized I will need to take active steps to achieve this. I’m so glad you are on the same journey. Let so this together!! About the Fibro flare… it’s typical of this time of the year. I need sun!! I must go back on my vitamins and maybe invest on a red light therapy.

    I’m going to be truthful
    I always bring workmen to do renovations in my home
    Although,I am not sick,would rather leave the job to the Professionals

    • @tt_looking_glass
      @tt_looking_glass  Год назад +2

      I 💯 agree with you. I would love to have a crew come in and get the job all done in a couple of days. The problem is because I’m not working our income has very suddenly been cut in half and that has taken a huge toll on our financial health. The materials for the renovation was a gift from my dad and that’s why we are doing all the work ourselves. Because we simply can’t afford at the moment. But the day I can afford, I will definitely have professionals do the job. I’m just so thankful that I actually get to do it given our finances at the moment.

      I’m a midwife with a 80% hospital birth and 20% home birth. I used to be on call 24/7 for 7 days straight and only got 8 hours of protected rest once I had been awake for 24 hrs straight. Just before I went on disability I was working 80 hours a week. A lot of my health issues are a result of the mental and physical stress of my job.
