Hi guys! I was the jovial guy working on the radio 🥳 This is so funny! You are correct, it is not a control tower. Kuujjuaq airport is an 'FSS' which stands for Flight service station. We give an advisory service instead of a control service. That is the reason we are called Kuujjuaq "Radio" instead of Kuujjuaq "Tower". We give you the weather and traffic information, but we are not allowed to tell you what to do and where to go, we just help you make your plan and communicate your plan to other traffics. It is so nice to see your point of view from the cockpit, different from our awesome view in the station. I really appreciate the fact that you enjoyed my services 😁 You are welcome anytime! David

Now that I've been flying outside the US since then, I'm much more familiar with the "radio" concept but that day might have been the first time I'd encountered it.
