Great tutorial video. was very informative and easy to follow. Love Papa Smurfs voice as well. reminds me of PBS building/remodeling shows from the 80's. Subscribed to the channel so I won't miss more Papa.
I want to thank you for the awesome video! Never crossed my mind to use a pencil to score brick on Styrofoam. Got a project underway as we speak. Two thumbs up!
When I do textures I find it more helpful to take the paper off. You can spray it with hot water and gently bend the board and the paper will just peel off.
Hey papa, I don't know if it'll work but have you tried covering the mortar joints? Maybe some paper clips or painter's tape would help when you're painting the brick.
wish he would list the materials used, or at least was more discrptive about the items he uses in his vid. I'm a newbie so I'm not familiar with a lot of stuff.
+E-4 Airman If you want to do wood or boards get ahold of some popsicle sticks. Just cut the ends off with some sprue cutters and you have boards it takes time to lay them but once painted they look pretty nice. You can also break them and get boards that look like they have been smashed by bombs or a space marine with a power hammer.
E-4 Airman Not really, GW released a whole guide to making terrain for Mordheim Most likely one of the many reasons they dropped the game. Most of the stuff uses foam board Popsicle sticks and bits leftover from warhammer kits. You dig around a little you can find PDFs of it. I didn't make these but they have been a great source of inspiration for me. You work a little bit and have the materials to do it and you can make some really cool stuff with very cheap materials. yaktribe.org/community/threads/mordheim-fantasy-city-terrain-with-lots-of-pics.4454/
Using a pencil to create your grooves. Simple. Brilliant. Been looking at knives, hot wires, all sorts of grooving tools. A pencil! Thanks Papa!
Cheers!
Papa Smerf sure make tutorials that are nice to listen to.
Applying the red paint with a makeup sponge and dabbing it on will help avoid getting paint in the grout lines.
YOu have great patience and a fantastic ability to not only do what you enjoy but help others.

I know the store is closing, but I seriously hope these Pap Smurf videos can continue!
He's great!
He reminds me ALOT of Bob Ross in the way he speaks. Very soothing, very calming & very reassuring.
Papa Smurf is the Bob Ross of wargaming.
Chris Rea i was gonna say that exactly. His voice has a soothing effect which makes you just watch on.
@@GothGoblinNecoArc yep!

I love this guy. He's like the Bob Ross of terrain building.
Great video and you make it look so simple that I will have to give this a try.
Many thanks,
JJAB
That’s super cool, but couldn’t you use pin-striping tape for models to mask the grout lines, too?
"it's called do it right the first time' lol well said and thank you for sharing!
Does the foam board have the outer paper coating on or off? He has done this with it off before so just asking.

Very nice, thanks for sharing your talent.

You should make ASMR videos or just place the ASMR tag in your title. You have the perfect voice.
Did you leave the paper on the board or did you remove it? I enjoy your videos.
Models do not use metric system so it is quite common to use inches and such when WH40k is involved.
You are performing very well as papa smurf ;) thumbs up
Nicely done!
You have an amazingly relaxing voice.
