      Yet in 2003 Lewis had to admit that he himself had tested positive for banned substances during the 1988 U.S. Olympic trials. In acknowledging the revelations, however, Lewis was far from contrite.
      "It's ridiculous, "Lewis said. "Who cares? I did 18 years of track and field and I've been retired for five years, and they're still talking about me, so I guess I still have it."

    • @stevewise1656
      @stevewise1656 3 года назад +3

      @@wildoutrudeboy I agree, Ben Johnson was singled out. Prior the 1984 Olympics Lewis had tested positive at the World Championships...I believe it was Helsinki. There were also rumors he was on HGH and that’s why he needed braces. You’ll still see the need for braces in other sprinters, specifically the Jamaican female sprinters.
      The guy responsible for drug testing data for the 1984 Olympics said in a documentary that Lewis tested positive for steroids. He told the US Olympic Committee and they destroyed the testing results. He was a money maker, just like Lance Armstrong, so they didn’t care.
      Lastly, steroids, HGH, and other doping is endemic to Olympic sports in general. Athletes think, “I’m tired of losing to these drugged athletes, so I’m going on em.” I was in a sport where PED’s were taken by everyone...wasn’t aware this was so rampant in my naivety, thought I could win as a natural athlete and started losing. My choice was seeing a doctor for blood tests and having him start me on a protocol that included the safest drugs. The changes were night and day, though I ultimately chose within a relatively short period of time it wasn’t worth winning while risking my long term health.

Is there a RUclips video of Lewis admitted he took PED’s? I watched a documentary about the 1984 Olympics and the director interviewed the head of that Olympics drug testing and he said Lewis and other US athletes tested positive for steroids. Carl didn't "come back" from anywhere. He just relaxed and decelerated a lot slower than the rest of the field & it appeared that he flew past them when he in fact he didn't try to run faster. It's just that the rest of the field decelerated much faster than Carl did. They all tightened up while Carl held his form & won the race. The fact is the human body can't go any faster than 60 meters. The last 40 meters is just maintenance of the first 60 meters!

Burrell was also 0.03 quicker over the 60-70m distance matching Lewis at that point for speed. So Carls comeback was definitely at the 40m mark where he was quicker than anyone and he held that pace better than anyone, 9.77 if he had a good start! Its also clear that if Burrell had held his form he wouldve won as he was just as quick as Lewis and also ahead in the race at that point. What an athlete Carl Lewis was to hold form like that!

It has to be the tracks of today are just faster surfaces than in the past. A 100m takes approximately 40 strides, if the new surfaces gave back just an extra .005 sec. per stride, that would equal .2 sec. Faster surfaces has to be the reason for so many sprinters today running sub-10 sec.

The drugs that are on the scene today are light years ahead of the drugs used in the 60s, 70s, 80s, etc. Anyone using just steroids...human or animal... usually gets busted. The ones using "designer" Performance Enhancement Drugs are the ones who have changed the game. Technology is always 1 step behind the drug cheats. In the case of the USA and other countries they know who the cheats are but they protect them!! You probably think powdered cocaine and crack cocaine are the same. :)

      Why don't you train for the 100 meters & see how difficult it is to even run a 10.8! Lmao. You are spoiled my friend!
      Btw, it's been said by science that the top sprinters haven't really gotten any faster than even Jesse Owens. The surfaces and shoes have improved and is the biggest attributing factors in the times today! Hence why they call some tracks "a fast track!" Now everyone knows in the 100, that you keep your head down for about the first 40, then you start to come up. It seems like everyone in this race was coming up at around 10-15 meters...lol
