Sam's right about Scotland. You will fall in love with the country once you see it in the show.
How I miss the old days! Read the books twice and love to compare the TV show with the books!
Started watching the show yesterday, and I am really enjoying it.
I goggle Sam and Caitriona and couldn't believe Sam is 34, honestly thought he was
about 24.
I love them! They are fantastic!
Sam's accent is so interesting. It actually almost sounds American.

That dude's got a very strange accent. Maybe he's been picking up more English inflections because New Galloway where he's from has a much stronger accent than that. Also in the show the accent isn't quite right. Scottish people don't pronounce the letter "t" as much as he does.
Who cares? He can read me to sleep anytime.
That's strange accusation given the point that Sam is actually born Scottish.
K. Petrova Aye so am I. I figured out that it's because he's from New Galloway which is nearer the English border. I was actually born where his character is supposed to be from so my accent is what he was trying to do in the show. Almost there but not quite.
Rowan J Coleman Accents may differ. There are so many of them and even in my small country I may say one word differently than my friend living next door. I dinna know you are a Scottish too. :) I just love his accent in the show. Never heard any Scot before. My apologies. I just thought he sounds authentic according to his nature.
K. Petrova Oh I know. If you ever get someone from Aberdeen trying to speak to someone from Glasgow you would swear neither were speaking English. The Scottish accent in the show is notoriously difficult for any actor to do though so no apologies needed.
Sam has obviously worked to lose his original accent. A lot of actors try to do it.
