- In this build video of the Revell 1969 Pontiac GTO "The Judge" 1/24 scale plastic model, I start the by prepping the body for primer and then painting the model car.
Nice looking classic model car cool. 🚗🚗👏👍💔💘⭐🌟🤗🙂☺️
This is an excellent tutorial on building a model kit. Detailed, informative and very well produced. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and expirence.
Thank you. I'm glad you liked it.
Here comes the judge.
You have talent sir. You are added to the growing list of modelers I will be going to for the 2 i's. Inspiration and information.
Thank you
Heh I had this set in the 90s :D
I made a weird custom thing, that had the rear panel of a Hemi Cuda as a front spoiler, and I painted it black with white stripes and fitted LED lights from a christmas decoration I made at school.
I always messed up the paintwork on every car model I did as a kid, only recently when I returned to modelling I´ve learned to use spray paints for scale models, which gave a very good result.
Sounds cool
Nice the pontiac gto is one of my top 3 favourite pontiacs superbird been 1 nice kit looks like a awsome kit il be watching just opened video, 👍👍
Looks great so far!
One of my favorite cars! Got me hooked!!!
What amazes me, you did all of that without breaking the steering column off, I would’ve accidentally broken that off for sure.
I actually did break off the rod that extends past the steering column, glued it back on and then broke it off again and lost it so I will need to cut and glue on some small styrene rod.
Nice Goat.... build on 👍
Thanks
Very nice work and great painting process. Cheers
Thanks
Good tips.. cool video
Thank you
As always, disciplined and smart work. Nicely done!
Thank you
The Revellogram decals left a lot to be desired. Kit still looks good after 40-plus years.
Thank you
Gotta love the goat
Wow, very nice. Its like you are working on a real car, cool.
Thank you
Just found your channel, Subbed/liked.
Thank you
Great video. Nice start on a Great kit. I'll be watching
Thanks
Fine work....thank you
As soon as I can I am getting this one so I can Make it like the one I saw at a car show it was a rare one it was Black all black the guy had it parked by an orange one he said he ordered it that way 🐎Mr. ED Says just have fun modeling
I just started building this car. I have the carousel orange, but really wanted to do an orbit orange gto but can’t seem to find a 1970 gto judge.
Orange was very populare then. All classic were orange in the 60' and 70'
Technically speaking the cement doesn't "melt" plastic, it temporarily dissolves it at the joint. Then when the solvents in the cement evaporate, the parts are fused together. Melting requires heat.
Love the video....great looking build
Where do i get those thin sanding sticks?
Thanks
I get them from my local Hobby Store MRS Hobby Shop. They have an on-line store at www.mrshobby.com/
You're a true pro, you don't complain about the kit the mold lines, ejector pins etc, like some of the other modelers on RUclips, you build. But I do have a question about your paint process, I see you go on pretty heavy on the first coat. Are you relying on the 2K to possibly cure any problems? Thanks for the good videos.
I do go heavy on my first coat, most times too heavy. I probably should mention that I generally apply three coats at a minimum but I don't show that in the video as there is no difference on camera. I do make sure my paint is smooth and in good order prior to clear coating.
Fixing to buy it shortly. Any major issues should I be aware of???? Major fit issues???
Just finished with the body, getting ready to start the rest of the pieces but so far so good.
What exactly do you use to spray the old decals? Some sort of fixative? I have this kit also and am currently working on it and want to save the decals as best I can.
I have been using a decal bonder spray by Testors.
Testors Decal Bonding Spray
What paint do you use to get that nice metal look? I have been using spray paint but doesn’t look nearly as good.
Most of the paints I used for the body are Gravity Colors USA. I find that almost any paint I apply with an airbrush gives me a great finish. Some guys are skilled with "rattle can" paint and can make it look good. I am not one of those guys so I airbrush my paint.
@@ScaledDownCustoms perfect. Thank you so much for your reply. I also have trouble putting my body in to the chassis. The instructions tell me to fit the interior on the chassis and then the body. Do you recommend any different?
@@dannypino3130 I struggle with that myself. I usually have to pull outwards on both sides of the middle of the body. It is a tight fit and I'm always afraid I'm going to break something.
If you don’t mind I have a couple of questions. First one, where did you get your 5000 Tamiya sanding sponge? And the other one, what grit of stick are you using to block sand with? Thank you for your time.
I get almost all my supplies from MRS Hobby Store www.mrshobby.com/ to include my Tamiya sanding sponges. The thin sanding sticks are just hobby sanding sticks, again from MRS. I do not know the grit level. The larger blue sanding sticks are emery boards for fingernails. Again I do not know the grit level on those.
@@ScaledDownCustoms Thanks for getting back with me. I ended up buy a fingernail file, thats got 8 different grits at the Dollar Tree, that may be good for blocking. I really enjoy watching your videos! Thanks again!
What colours and what airbrush are you using?
I am using mostly Gravity Colors USA for the body paints and the airbrush I have is an Iwata Eclipse.
Great video!
Could you Please consider making a video about how to airbrush models? I just burnt my paint with gx100 XD
I have been working on an airbrush class video. I will get that finished up.
Where did you get your paint from Sir
Most of the paint I use for the body is from Gravity Colors USA.
I hope this kit gets repop soon.
I do as well. What a great car, what a great kit.
What color orange to use for the 69 GTO judge ?
I just used a Grabber Orange. It was the closest color I had on hand.
What brand did you use ? Testors? And thank you for the reply. Great build .
It was a Gravity Colors paint.
@@ScaledDownCustoms thank you
Salut my friend super car super video subscribe subscribe ..
Thank you
First issue was 1982 according to Scalemates - I've got an original and the plastic is so brittle, it's unbuildable !

Best from NZ.
Thanks for sharing that website. That is great.
