Every time I watch this, I'm convinced that the whole thing was recorded in one take perfectly as it appears here, and I won't be convinced otherwise. This entire endeavour is a splendid work of art and a labour of love that Nintendo fans know in their heart of hearts.

I could legitimately listen to a full version of just the 4 bars of Menu music in the medley, that's how amazing this whole thing. Every single part of the music is arranged perfectly, not just the actual tracks. Beautiful piece
Yeah, maybe a little too much background voices I could barely even hear the menu theme, heading to the bandcamp for this one, but great work everyone.
Read the description and visit their Bandicamp and spotify! They have all the pure music and extra tracks not on RUclips there like Gerudo Valley and Delphino Plaza.

This is amazing; the quality of the arrangements is amazing!!! Beautiful improvs by the brass section, buttery smooth flute on Frappe Snowland… I would be a massive advocate of more music like this being in future Mario Kart games. If you’re not listening to these arrangements and are like: “Woah… this soundtrack just got leveled up!!!”, then you honestly don’t know what “quality” is from a musical standpoint.

Really glad you guys didn't go for an 100% authentic multiplayer audio experience here by having the band just fall silent as soon as gameplay began, definitely an artistic liberty that heightened the overall experience a fair bit.
Every time I watch this video it puts a huge smile on my face throughout the whole video. The orchestration and video cuts are perfect and I honestly can’t get enough.

Not to sound pretentious, but I think I understand why you let the background noise be added.
Just like John Cages 4’33”, where silence and rests last for 4 minutes and 33 seconds, it’s believed that the background noise that happens during that moment of silence becomes a part of the music
In theory, the background chatter adds a unique vocal rhythm and percussion in between levels, while its paired with a soloist, via Saxophone or other, emphasizing that it’s even MORE improvised than your usual improv solo...

The 8-Bit Big Band no prob, I see there are other comments saying the background noise gets in the way of the music itself, but it’s also nice to understand the artistic reason why the background noise was kept where it was.
Side Note: “MOOOOM, CAN WE GET SOME PIZZA?!” Was the best line added to this sound track 😂

This is quite fun, but I'd love an "instrumental" version without the noises from the games or the people talking. Your videos usually have a few noises, but this is much more than usual and it's covering the beautiful music, which I think most of us are here for
Couldn't agree more. I came for the music, not the chatter. The music is absolutely divine. The noises are not.
That's why there's a bandcamp link in the description with the high quality instrumental.
And personally I think as a video, it's a pretty cool idea and has a nice novelty factor/eye catcher for people seeing the channel for the first time.

Agreed 100%. The style is neat but there's waaaaaaaay too much background noise and chatter and the like. It's not so bad between tracks and for transitions, but mid-song it's quite jarring.
Wow, this is perfect. Literally everything I was hoping for and so much more. The simplistic yet bombastic main theme, the EVEN MORE bombastic Luigi's Raceway, the calming, tremendous harmony in Koopa Troopa Beach, the magical multitude of strings in Frappe Snowland, brassy triumph of Rainbow Road, all with great result screen interludes. Not to mention the pizza of course. Amazing job guys.

Obviously the music is incredible, but the split of the video into four sections like the game and that sax solo at the beginning of rainbow road where you guys cut to him being the only one in the studio just elevates the video even more. You guys are seriously the best.

Not that it matters by this point, but I actually transcribed the end credits music in the hopes that the CWU Symphony Orchestra (I had just started CWU at the time) would perform it, and that the conductor could make any corrections since I hadn't written music for a large ensemble yet. The conductor practically stuck his nose up at it. I still have the manuscript for it, even though the instruments aren't labeled on the correct staves. As far as the notation, I believe I have it down. I had to play through the last four races several times to get it down.
