I absolutely LOVE this. I love seeing two people with completely different political views hanging out and able to have fun and be friends. As a Conservative I have several friends who are on the left. Of which a few of them are REALLY far left. We have been friends since high school. That is over 20 years we have been best friends and we REFUSE to let politics come between our friendship. We understand the concept of agree to disagree....a concept that has been lost amongst a lot of people on the left. I would refuse to be friends with someone on the right that wouldn't be friends with someone on the left just because they disagree. I think it’s possible to ‘agree to disagree’ on fairly mundane issues. It becomes difficult when fundamental views differ though. For example, if I genuinely believe that being gay is wrong and i will vote to deny rights to gay people, then it is borderline impossible for a gay person to interact with me as a friend and, as you said, ‘agree to disagree’ because this directly affects one persons life.

I absolutely LOVE this. I love seeing two people with completely different political views hanging out and able to have fun and be friends. As a Conservative I have several friends who are on the left. Of which a few of them are REALLY far left. We have been friends since high school. That is over 20 years we have been best friends and we REFUSE to let politics come between our friendship. We understand the concept of agree to disagree....a concept that has been lost amongst a lot of people on the left. I would refuse to be friends with someone on the right that wouldn't be friends with someone on the left just because they disagree. Destiny and Lauren doing this really shows that it's ok to hang out with people you disagree with and it's awesome.

I think it’s possible to ‘agree to disagree’ on fairly mundane issues. It becomes difficult when fundamental views differ though. For example, if I genuinely believe that being gay is wrong and i will vote to deny rights to gay people, then it is borderline impossible for a gay person to interact with me as a friend and, as you said, ‘agree to disagree’ because this directly affects one persons life.
