Embracing hardship is definitely a learned trait. Yet when accomplished, life becomes far more manageable. As Frankl said, "Between stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom". Many situations in life will be out of our control, but in relinquishing that control, peace can be found. Kudos to you for stepping out of your comfort zone to experience more of the world. I've been on a journey to obtain an RV and live/work remotely for the last two years, (I don't jump into things 😀) and am getting close. I must say, I could not bring myself to cash in my Roth, but I appreciate the dedication to grow through experience. The older one grows, the more risk averse they become, as time draws short. As young as you are, though, you have plenty of time to rebuild your retirement finances. The contrast is to the very heart of your message - a person can spend 75 years on earth and never truly live. "If I were to let my life be taken over by what is urgent, I might very well never get around to what is essential." Safe travels from Montana back to AR or NY!
I absolutely love this comment you left! you leave some of the best quotes to live by! sometimes you really have to give up trying to control everything and just allow for life to play out how it's meant to and you truly will find peace. I think it's awesome that you're going after the lifestyle that calls out to you but with care haha. it will pay off in the end and be so absolutely worth it when you finally leap. I am excited to hear updates on your life and the adventures you embark on with that. just keep going at the pace that works for you! thank you being here and thank you for your kindness. please take care :)
@@kindsaybennett thanks much for your kind words, but honestly none of my thoughts are my own. I was very lost & searching 12 years ago, but fate saw fit I should meet an old man, a sage - the wisest person I ever met. He took me under his wing and showed me both how to live and die. I like to think I'm carrying on for him by passing along the things he instilled in word & deed. So truthfully, the thoughts I share are either from him or people who taught him. I know he would be so very gratified if you benefitted from any of them. Many thanks for the encouragement and travel mercies be yours.
