@@jollington hey yeah always check near the boat ramps for fish…the cement structure attracts a lot of bait so I’ve caught many stripers within eye sight of the ramp
@@theoriginalcaptjack thank you ! Catching them on the spoon is a great time hopefully putting fluorocarbon leaders on all my setups will get me more bites 🤙🏻
@@riverking2689 Yes but not this summer as I’m usually working. Sometimes the afternoon bite can be good in the summer but really like fishing the evenings in Spring & Fall.
Are there ever times when the bass have lockjaw? I been marking a lot of schooling fish that just will not eat anything i get in-front of them for some reason. Must have been because it was post front?
Of course, some days are better than others. A lot of variables to impact the bite. If I’m not getting positive responses I just keep trying different lures/techniques and spots but some days are better than others.
Great tip on fluro leader, thanks. And i launch at that same park. Cant believe you hooked up right there!

Great video. Thanks for sharing.
“Gotta run some freshwater through the engine,” (while fishing of course). Masterful explanation to wifey. 👍😉
Do you use a flouro leader on your spoons or just tie it on to your braid ?
Hi mick, I always use a fluorocarbon leader. For the 2+ oz spoons I use 20# and less I use 12#

@@mickjenkins8882 yeah 👊 and I think the fluorocarbon knots hold up better/longer plus the abrasion resistance is superior
Thanks for the videos!
What kind of boat are you fishing from?
Do you modify your flutter spoons in any way?
Hey thanks, Key West 176cc Sportsman. Yes sometimes I add a swivel at the bottom.
Missed you dude!! Good to see you’re still wrecking them!!!
Your son a trooper. Gotta trained them while they young! Hey Captain Jack, when searching for bait or striper how fast are you going?
Hey that’s right! I’m usually moving around 3-5mph. I generally slow down the more suspicious the spot is and speed up when it’s not looking right.
@@theoriginalcaptjack Cap, have you caught or tried fishing striper around 3pm-6pm? And later around 7 to 8pm?
