Really glad to hear your health is getting better. I have been following you since right around the start of the pandemic and I remember you having a few health issues. So happy to see you back at it and full of joy and talking to us as if we were in the room with you. Absolutely love your style of painting and just you as a person. Thank you for all of the good content you create and letting us join you while you teach.
I just keep watching over then again I stumbled upon your home grandpa about 7 months ago and I keep being amazed . And I try but, myself I’m a minute cartoonist bang ya know Quick dra. Simple but catchy ,now I’m trying painting again and listening to music and you makes it real. Thanks for being n stay away from those hospital type places , I’m in USA as you say most of your grandkids are granpa ,ya know thanks do you still reply I’ve had a Question or two ,but not an answer please don’t cut me off I’m in awe of everything you do or say but problem is oil paint on brush is it thick with only enough oil to make workable I’m a rookie at this
yOUR SENSE OF HUMOR REALLY HITS THE SPOT FOR ME. What a great way to learn. Please never stop talking through your videos, it is so helpful in so many ways to listen to your stream of consciousness. Thank you.
What what WHAT?! Who could possibly call this “depressing”?! I can’t believe anyone would describe this awesome scene in such a way! This is totally one of my favorites I’ve ever seen you do! It just SINGS Emily Brontë!! My god, I wanna paint this! (Running to get out my paints & prep a canvas...see you on part 2! ) ❤
* by the by, good for you for recognizing the over medication! My husband, SAME exact story. The only thing he does different now is increase his garlic intake also a zinc magnesium & something I can’t pronounce combo, he feels better than he has in years. Always pays to get a second and third opinion, why not? You look and sound great. 🤘🏽❤️
The technique is one thing you can learn but natural creativity and vision is quite another and this is the difference for great painters and folk who wanna try to be decent i think.
Stuart, being a Patreon isn't begging - it's us paying you for the hours of entertaining education that you provide, with easy banter and wise wisdom a bonus.... 😂 great paintings like this one don't come cheaply, they need nurturing and crafting - and you do that by the brush load and pallete scrape.
"POLDARK" - my home county. At the height of the series popularity a tourist ( known as 'emmets' by locals ) could buy Poldark chocolate; Poldark ice cream; Poldark hats - you get my drift 🙂 When younger I attended 'Life classes' at St,Ives, to draw, in charcoal, the naked lady posing on a sofa. I attended every class. Your videos are never too long Stuart.
Another absolutely great video and great painting! A really big painting. There is so much texture on this ground, and it really makes you want to explore every inch of the painting. Painting a cliff requires a lot of practice. It was quite a long video, but now you have to watch the second part as well. Many thanks for sharing!
I commentated about five minutes ago. Just got to the end of this video and when you showed the finished painting the bigger clouds really do look as though they are right overhead, fantastic. Thank you again for this wonderful lesson Stuart.
Thankyou so much for your tutorials . I finally got to watch your video on perspective and have had a real breakthrough in my landscape painting. You are a wonderful teacher.!
Thank you for this wonderful painting! Thanks also for sharing the good news about your health. It's so good to hear that you are better and you do, indeed, sound better on this video! The painting by your last student was an inspiration.
I am so glad you're feeling better and able to teach us your way of painting.I think you're doing a great job with talking about the panting methods you're using and explanations of the colors you use.
I’m still here, watching you finalize the clouds. I love this painting. I think the orangish color is like a rust shade. Thanks for what you do. Very calming.
I believe the P number refers to the Panatone color chart number designation. In the chart it will give the breakdown with percentages of all the colors that makeup that particular color. Oh, and stunning as always.
Is the word melancholy? For sunsets, sorry to see the day go. Enjoying the leisure of creativity and descriptions of color mixing. And allowing the imagination of spontaneity to happen. So good to catch your video.
Hello, I realy like the sky you did with your knife . Even before you put your brush to it . I am going to try it with acrylic . By the way , I enjoy your extended videos . I agree with you 100% on how and why you price your work . People don't seem to understand what it takes to get to your level . But I do . I am happy to hear your health has improved . Thank you for sharing .
LOVE the longer video, love your work, and I was amazed by John's painting. It must be a joy to teach someone who can combine natural talent and the wonderful skills you imparted to him.
Great lesson and I enjoyed the discussion. I also look forward to the longer videos. I learn a great deal in techniques. As always, thank you for sharing your talents
👋Good evening, Stuart, excellent ! - I started watching this video last night but had to postpone the rest until tonight so I could watch it in one go. - Again, an interesting landscape has escaped your brushes and palette knives, and Poldark's Path is a great title for this painting. Poldark was televised from 75 to 77 with Robin Ellis and Angharad Rees, I enjoyed watching the old series but don't like remakes. - The sky is painted quite superbly and the orange-pinkish part looks super with the white in it, the blue upper section appears quite splendid anyway. The green landscape below seems mysterious, maybe even a little eerie, imagine having to spend time there alone in this twilight. But we also and especially love this mysteriousness in your paintings. I like this painting but as always I'm looking forward to second parts, no matter how long the videos take. Thank you, and have a good week.👍💖
Let me just say you started playing randomly on my tv while I was painting (I do acrylic, but am trying to learn oils, and happy that RUclips recommended you) I have listened to you and looked over at my tv for the past five hours of your videos… I am laughing so much at your commentary and jokes, listening in on your knowledge of how to actually relax, hearing your life stories as an artist as I’m trying to get into that life and out of the waitressing career… I just adore you and your art so much already, and it was just a “happy accident” to have come across you. Thank you for being you, you are so inspiring.
Also the big advice to not overwork a piece, if one brushstroke works and looks nice, move on to something else. Always a bad habit with me thinking I need more, but you saying that is helping (almost lol) ❤
New subscriber here. I enjoy the calmness of this channel and your cheeky remarks that you randomly throw out there are golden. Watched the entire vid. Cheers mate.
Love this long video!..have been watching your videos for a while, and never tire of them, I find your information extremely helpful in my own paintings..and I find myself laughing out loud at your occasional humor as well, thank you for continuing to share!
Thanks for your latest video upload. It is interesting to see you using pthalo blue with its intense colour practically two thirds of the canvas or board. Normally this blue would be used sparingly. I really love the cliff and landscape and the overall effect of lights and darks played out too. As always Stuart, I enjoy every minute of the time spent watching you paint. Thank you once again for the instructions on how to work loosely with oil paints.
what a gorgeous sky! I love the amount of drama that you add with the few simple colors, your technique and the incredible skill you have been blessed with! Thank you, sir, for this great video.
I get sooooo excited when I get the littke bell icon showing you have new video for our viewing pleasure. However, I’m even more excited to hear of the positive trajectory in your health. You seem like the old Stuart to me and I know we are all thrilled to have you back and feeling and sounding so good! ❤😊
Thank you so much Stuart! I love the way you paint, and your tranquil explanations and quiet humor. The only thing that I doubt is the thought of painting green cliffs!;I guess I'm too realistic!!
Perfect name "poldark's pass" - I enjoyed that show as well. Beautiful painting its very moving. I would call the color of the sky you referenced - blood orange :). Thank you for teaching how to make the sky feel as if it goes over the viewers head. That's a very good tip and it really draws the viewer into the painting. I watched beginning to end. I could watch you every night! I'm so glad to hear your feeling better. Medicines can definitely make a person feel worse sometimes. I think your student John did a fab job on his painting. You're a good teacher. See ya next time. Thank you!
Quag and mire both mean a bog or marsh. Quag is English, mire is Scandinavian. First thought to be used as a "difficult situation" in the 1700s. Yes, we use that word in the US. Of course, like you we are moving more and more towards less and less vocabulary, so thing or thingy will also substitute for quagmire. Cheers and thanks for another helpful video.
Congratulations on 100K+ Subscribers. I'm happy to be a Patreon from Colorado USA. Your stream of consciousness comments are always interesting. And I'm happy to hear your voice has returned to it's rich normal sound, and that your health has improved. It would be interesting sometime to see a 1 or 2 hour video of you just painting with voiceover comments and instruction. I'm looking forward to Part 2 as you finish this painting. I would call the orangey sky tones "Copper".
Great painting. My level is what your's look like maybe 2-3 minute's and that look's like my best !!! 2 hour's fly by when having fun and enjoying your work so Thank's alot...one day I'll be up to 20 minute's into it!!!
Yes, I am into dream analysis as well. I have had dreams that kept repeating and then apparently the issue was resolved because I stopped having them! I too have dreams about being in buildings that are somewhat convoluted and mysterious. I tend to think of it as my mind wandering through different parts of my brain analyzing different things.
I found the Poldark series landscapes breathtaking and so worthy of painting. Celedon for the sky green color that got mixed perhaps. PB= pigment blue; 15:3 =Thalo red shade. Another enthralling video, Stuart. Thank you. However, other than your comments about beautiful scenery, I can't wholly agree with what you say about Cornwall. I am curious??? The distant mountain is pretty tall but does it drop off. It would seem it should follow through to behind the cliffs. Just me looking.
Hi Stuart, have you had a CT scan with contrast fluid to check for blockages from calcium and fats and other substances around the arteries from the heart. To descern if you need a stand etc. Greetings from Bavaria

When is part 2 ?
Brilliant in offering painting demos associated with literary themes. Hope there’s more to come in this vein🌸❄️
The technique is one thing you can learn but natural creativity and vision is quite another and this is the difference for great painters and folk who wanna try to be decent i think.
Beautiful as usual! You can always make a living as a humorist if art doesn’t work out😍 you are a joy to watch and learn from!

Yes Stuart, I'm still here, along with loads more, I should think. Enjoying this lesson immensely, thank you.

So true and evocative of that wonderful series☕️
Wonderful coaching and encouragement ❤️❄️❄️

Inspiring. I must have a go at a big painting like that. Don't worry about long videos. I love them.

Watching you work is always fascinating. So happy you are feeling stronger.
Thank You! Eu gosto muito do seu trabalho, é sensacional, com poucas cores utilizadas você transforma sua obra em um grande monumento alucinador!!!
Love it. Awesome as usual. We loved the Poldark series. ❤
Thans Stuart . A very educational vid , glad to see and hear that you are feeling better ....

Thank you very much Stuart. I'm so glad you're doing well !!
Very Nice. Thanks Stuart........It was the best 2 hrs. I have invested today!!!
Love this painting.
Great job John!
Always an inspiration and something new to learn. Thank you so much!
Love always, Stuart. Nobody more inspiring. Also I feel like I am there in person. Makes it easy to paint with you.
I wanted to know if you oil your pannalal before you paint

Wow! I stunning
what a gorgeous sky! I love the amount of drama that you add with the few simple colors, your technique and the incredible skill you have been blessed with! Thank you, sir, for this great video.
Thank you so much 😀 Hopefully the sky will improve in part 2.
Amazing demo!! I try to paint along with you too! thx so much for sharing your knowledge!
Such beautiful painting Stuart and I love your talks and the things you tell us. Much love from NC. (I appreciate the repeats, I do it too!)
Thanks, Teach. Good class as always. You are better, and were very funny. Good words about breath control.
I get sooooo excited when I get the littke bell icon showing you have new video for our viewing pleasure. However, I’m even more excited to hear of the positive trajectory in your health. You seem like the old Stuart to me and I know we are all thrilled to have you back and feeling and sounding so good! ❤😊
I have only seen two videos so far and I love it! New subscriber. I have painted for years as self-taught. I will definitely try his techniques!
Thank you so much Stuart! I love the way you paint, and your tranquil explanations and quiet humor. The only thing that I doubt is the thought of painting green cliffs!;I guess I'm too realistic!!
This is just the underpainting. many things will change in part 2.
Thanks. I shall try to be patient.🤗🖌️🎨
Quag and mire both mean a bog or marsh. Quag is English, mire is Scandinavian. First thought to be used as a "difficult situation" in the 1700s. Yes, we use that word in the US. Makes me wanna open a copper mine in Cornwall
Loved watching this painting come to fruition! Absolutely beautiful! Love from Vancouver, Canada.

There is a Thalo blue green shade. I paint in watercolor so I pay attention to the tube numbers because of concern about lightfastness.
I enjoy your humorous commentary and helpful explanation much more than the inane music some RUclipsrs use. Carry on; I’m a new subscriber. Beautiful work.
I learn a lot, and enjoy the talking. I like the way you some times butcher the clouds.
Beautiful
“Swipey swishy stuff “…….😂
Absolutely wonderful, my bottom has become numb however, it was a worthwhile two hours.
Stay well and healthy Stuart all the very best to you.
Good,good
I’ve watched countless videos & joined a few classes, and I learn something new every time. I’m realizing that I use way too much paint! 😂 Absolutely beautiful painting, as always!
The painting, as per usual, is beautiful, the teaching superb... and your dry humor uplifting! But I commend you for being a "Cat man"! I have 3 of the rascals, or rather they have me. They do not like watching me etch. They like it when I paint more because they like (I think) the odor of linseed oil! (ps. Waffling, and even Whiffling, is better than Piffling!).

I love this painting thanks so much Stuart.
I did my first oil painting with you and everyone love's it, but it isn't finished little do they know.

Amazing fantastical work👍

…..5 minutes in and I was chuckling. “Cliff thing”. “Dig a deeper hole…..
I’m still watching going thru it still………
I already tried a version of this, strong image. I checked out James Naughton and will try his style too. Challenging.
This is becoming Beautiful. I love the orange glow in the sky and the mountain and the right amount of salade (in my opion). I have not watched the video in one go. I split it in two this time to be honest. That ruins the youtube measure thingy i'm sure. I would've loved to buy this painting when its finnished but,..... i don't have the budged :( I don't want you thinking i was ignoring you in the email. But i can't aford your paintings. Shame on me for occupying your time sending you these questions. Just hoping for better financial times for me so i can perhaps one day buy a painting from you.
At least that is on my bucket list :)
Paintings with that orange glow in the sky i just wish i could just jump in to the painting, sit on that hill or mountain and take it all in.
The orange glow or a pre-thunderstorm greenish glow in the sky that is wat i love. A painting should not talk it should scream to you.
Have a nice weekeind Stuart!
😊
I'm still here Stuart

You can't put a price on experience, but you can put a price on the paintings it lets you create.
Set your phones to also show time in France.

My skies have taken on a new level watching your instructions but my land scape well yuck not getting any where lol
I am curious??? The distant mountain is pretty tall but does it drop off. It would seem it should follow through to behind the cliffs. Just me looking.
Love the vid but I have to say you have a gremlin in your painting 🤣🤣
Take a look !!
It’s good though
Hi Stuart, have you had a CT scan with contrast fluid to check for blockages from calcium and fats and other substances around the arteries from the heart. To descern if you need a stand etc. Greetings from Bavaria
Yes I have. I've had every scan possible and my arteries are completely clear. I just have a slightly wonky valve.
