And agree with you, about her natural elegance is wasted in our era of mostly cheap shallow film (if one can still call it that) ... and can see how doing stage is really where she belongs and why she loves it most!
She was popular for 5 minutes in the UK during the Darling Buds of May because she was young and pretty. When it became obvious her acting would remain wooden and charmless she had to cross the pond. She has always struck me as arrogant without the talent to back it up.
Why the hell did someone so beautiful waste the best years of her life with a wrinkled old man, he has a son who was closer to her age than Douglas was to her, imagine what he'd look like without all the face lifts and plastic surgery, he was good looking in his day for a short ass but how can she love him, i dont get it! He came on to her like a creep.
Douglas is a cool guy and he's rich as hell. Most women don't worry too much about looks and really just want security and a nice lifestyle. This isn't news. If she wants a little something on the side, she more than has the means to have an affair if she wants to. Such marriages are often open anyway because the wealth buys a lot of space.

Sean Connery did "Entrapment" when he was like 70 years old. Catherine Zeta-Jones was about 30. Is the audience really going to buy him as a 70+ year old leading man action hero? As for the Barbara Walters interview, he did like 20 movies after that.

I enjoyed your WTF VIDEO. Your critiques are excellent. I’m an avid fan of theater and movies. I consider myself the “Everyman” as I go to the theater to be entertained by the magic of modern day cinema, Hollywood and of course good acting. I applaud her work!
@2manynegativewaves Really?!? That's surprising to hear after her near tone deaf singing in Chicago and Rock of Ages. I remember her whole Oscar campaign was built around how she did her own dancing. I wondered why her singing wasn't apart of the conversation...until I saw the film.
I'm glad you made mention of her popularity over here. It was weird seeing her in Hollywood all of a sudden after The Darling Buds of May. Also, it's "Zeeta"
Met her in Australia when they made Zoro at movie world , but met and shook hand her hands in surfer paradise night club...she wasn’t that beautiful like they made her to be.
@Amy Shakalis Quite a few DON'T. I know some actors hate watching their own films - William Shatner for example can't stand watching himself on screen. Many actors spend time analysing their own performances if they see themselves and start thinking how they could have played a role differently.
I loved Oceans 12. There, I said it! Intolerable Cruelty is one of my favorite comedies. A good Joel and Ethan Coen Brothers flick. Then again, I like nearly all of their movies.

I miss seeing her (and other actors of her era for that matter), in movies. The movies were fun. Lots of REAL type action, comedy, acting skill and just overall fun! Forget the end of the world attitude of Hollyweird today, where everything is depressing, world apocalypse comic book stuff. The 80’s of course had fantastic movies. But we forget how many good action and thriller movies the 90’s had. Think of Zeta Jones, Matt Damon, Ben Affleck, Banderas, Woody Harrelson, Snipes and a ton more!
I've got pals whom work in the Theatre industry and shes a narc without a doubt. Her goal was an old rich guy...she earned more money on her wedding day than she ever will in films. She used her so called beauty as a tool to trap micky d..lets face it he's no looker and he comes from a family of addicts. She played the game and won but now her good looks are vanishing and now shes flogging bed covers on shopping channels. She's not really thought about here in the U.K. The minute she uttered those fateful words in the high court 'A million pounds isn't a lot of money to me'...she shot herself in the foot with that one.

I really like: No Reservations. And I love The Terminal.
0:59 favorite part! 😂🤣 I LOVE your narrations & commentary! They are hilarious and so relatable and true! 😂👌🏼
I fell for her after watching The Phantom. She's still pretty now.
Yeah, I remember seeing her in that. Definitely caught my attention.
Seeing the end of this video, i think i like her older
Intolerable Cruelty is wildly underrated...the dialogue is amazing.
After watching this video, it inspire me to watch Catherine Zeta-Jones movies. She's my favorite! She's gorgeous!
Wow & I just watched Mask of Zorro last night & she is so gorgeous, can’t believe she is 50!
I mean..she wasn't 50 in that movie
Junkman no shit & MOZ is 22 years old, do the math, she was still in her 20s
@@blackphilipalvarez1305 Well, you might want to work on your sentence structure there Philip. "Wow she looks great for 50. On a side note, I just watched Mask of Zorro."
Something like that
Junkman what’s the difference from what I said
@@blackphilipalvarez1305 Would have been better to end the sentence with "now" or "already."
I love Ocean's 12 - especially Catherine in it. I guess I must be in the minority. But I like it almost as much as the other 2 Oceans movies.
I had the biggest crush on her, and have often wondered WTF happened to her. Thanks for this video.
Yes I do too she sure is super hot and always will be
Americas Sweethearts was so underrated Catherine stole the show as the diva Movie Star. Glad you appreciated it.
My favorite role with her.
Thank you for bringing me up to date on one of my biggest favs! ... I had studied dance, so when I saw Chicago, she completely blew me away within fully understanding the hell she put herself through in creating such stunning outrageous perfection, especially at an older age! And agree with you, about her natural elegance is wasted in our era of mostly cheap shallow film (if one can still call it that) ... and can see how doing stage is really where she belongs and why she loves it most!
Thanks for your video, it was very kind and conciderit every day life is hard much less the world watching your every move
"She stole the show from puss and boots" and I'm dead :D
The Phantom was a guilty pleasure... Loved that they handed out Skull rings at the theater
EW had an article about this in the late 00s. It blamed her overall lack of taste in films and being too gorgeous.
How can you be too gorgeous?
She was popular for 5 minutes in the UK during the Darling Buds of May because she was young and pretty. When it became obvious her acting would remain wooden and charmless she had to cross the pond. She has always struck me as arrogant without the talent to back it up.
She’s definitely a beautiful woman. I grew up watching her movies and she’s definitely one of my favorite.
I think she was attracted to his fame. I have wondered how she managed to get wet for that old prune
I can answer that, Michael looks like an interesting man, which a lot of men, younger or even better looking dont have that. Its hard to find that one thing in men.
@@cielomartinez6993 fair enough, your prolly right, i wouldn't know im not a woman.
Because Mike is a Rich fart. 💨
Dude, I am subscribing to your channel just because of your presentation Style!
She looks like Teri Hatcher now... :-(
You say that like Teri Hatcher isn't hot
Jacob Armstrong she’s not...
She's just as sick as all the other Hollywood freaks
Dottie from planes
Man, I love all your videos. But, this one is simply amazing, so interesting, entertaining and funny. Great job! One of the best channels on YT for me.
Such a bummer she didn't stay natural!! But like they say the more you're with someone the more you blend(Michael Douglas)
hoooo ho ho ho ho ohoh ohoh! That song always in the end part ahahah best fiting song for this kind of video man. always great stuff your doing!
I'll tell you what happened to Sean Connery. The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen and doubling down on Barbara Walters about hitting women.
"I'd hit that" -Sean Connery
Sean Connery did "Entrapment" when he was like 70 years old. Catherine Zeta-Jones was about 30. Is the audience really going to buy him as a 70+ year old leading man action hero? As for the Barbara Walters interview, he did like 20 movies after that.
Turning down the matrix and lord of the rings probably didn't help either.
@@pumpkinsdontcry IIRC, that's why he took LoEG. He'd passed on Matrix and LOTR because he didn't understand the scripts, so the next script he got that he didn't understand he took.
What? Did not know this!!!! I use to love him... but Hollywood actors... can’t be too surprised
Saludos Amigo, I'm one of your fans from Cuba. Keep up with the good videos, they're the best so farr
@Zero Coolque volá mi hermano, y ese canal es tuyo, a ver si me suscribo.... vaya que el mundo es pequeño
3:30 "...a purple billy zane running through the jungle... it was a mixture of Tarzan... and Indiana Jones... and Batman..." 😂
Just to add, there are two commentators out of all of RUclips, with all due respect to the rest of the RUclipsrs out there who work hard and are truly appreciated, who the whole world loves. And they are Nuke's top 5 most scary, and Briggs, who commentates on the stats of American Geography and civility, "love that guy," But now's there a third. And it's you Mr. JoeBlo. Congrats! You're a newfound favorite. If the people at RUclips have anything to say about this, Tell'em to call me. I'll fix'em. Keep up the good work! : )
The Darling Buds Of May. If you haven’t seen it you are missing out on a treat.
Love her! TY for putting this all together. Yes we miss her!
Marc Cherry had Catherine in mind when he wrote the Latino housewife Gabrielle Solis for Desperate Housewives and wanted her to play that character. But instead the role went to Eva Longoria which became her breakout role. Personally I think Catherine is a better actress than Eva but we'll never know what the show could have been if she was in it.
I don't think that role would have added anything important for Catherine Zeta Jone's career. It was everything for Eva Longaria.
great vids JoBlo... but I'm surprised you got away with not beeping the last WTF at 22:26 LOL
You taught Catherine Zeta-Jones was a Mexican, well everyone in Mexico things Zorro was a Mexican ...in fact he was an Irishman.
Is that a fact? No wonder they chose Anthony Hopkins (a Welshman) to play the part of old Zorro.
He is in fact a fictional character and he was a Mexican with spanish roots who settled in Mexican territory Of california in that era, his name was Diego De La Vega, that isn't a irish name.
@@shy3805 a fictional character based on a real person... look it up.
@@anthonymullen6300
Yes, but zorro wasn't irish he was spanish. Anthony hopkins played Don Diego so he also was playing a Spanish character not a irish man.
The first thing I saw her in was The Mask of Zorro as a teenager and I honestly thought she was Hispanic, so imagine my surprise when I was watching the behind the scenes featurette and she had what I later learned was a Welsh accent. 😅
She's seriously beautiful and a great actress.
I remember watching intolerable cruelty in theaters. I loved it then I still love it now. It's a weird dark comedy.
Devious.
I enjoyed your WTF VIDEO. Your critiques are excellent. I’m an avid fan of theater and movies. I consider myself the “Everyman” as I go to the theater to be entertained by the magic of modern day cinema, Hollywood and of course good acting. It’s been my observation that critics over analyze, over compare and attempt to out do other Critics with their intellectual writing to highlight their knowledge and wit. You are honest in your reviews and do not come across as the critics I refuse to read. Keep up the good work. And I am a big fan of CZJ as she is a quality and professional Actor/Actress. I applaud her work!
Did I miss the part in this where Michael Douglas mentioned he got throat cancer from going down on her?
Nope, they just didn't mention the issue. They mentioend her depression and bipolar but not HPV.
Omg what...
i completely forgot about this!
Worth it.
What???
I LOVED HER in Zorro and other movies - just stunning and so talented and so under-utilized. When will we get someone like her again?
"Catherine Zeta-Jones can sing and dance..." You got that half right.
@2manynegativewaves Really?!? That's surprising to hear after her near tone deaf singing in Chicago and Rock of Ages. I remember her whole Oscar campaign was built around how she did her own dancing. I wondered why her singing wasn't apart of the conversation...until I saw the film.
Another great video guys!
awwww, poor poor miserable, unhappy, rich famous people ...
😂😂😂 Nice one
I'm glad you made mention of her popularity over here. It was weird seeing her in Hollywood all of a sudden after The Darling Buds of May.
Also, it's "Zeeta"
Met her in Australia when they made Zoro at movie world , but met and shook hand her hands in surfer paradise night club...she wasn’t that beautiful like they made her to be.
This was great! Thanks Taylor 😎👍
I love her Welsh accent, she's a Swansea girl through and through. We normally sound thick as shit, but she actually makes it sexy.
Loved the Rick Moranis Wtf! Nicely done.
Wonder if the stars themselves watch these videos about them
Ask them on twitter
@Amy Shakalis Quite a few DON'T. I know some actors hate watching their own films - William Shatner for example can't stand watching himself on screen. Many actors spend time analysing their own performances if they see themselves and start thinking how they could have played a role differently.
I loved the Phantom as a kid in the 90's too. It was great. So I feel yah man.
The Darling Buds of May, was awesome and it was popular because of Catherine Zeta Jones.
I loved Oceans 12. There, I said it!
Intolerable Cruelty is one of my favorite comedies. A good Joel and Ethan Coen Brothers flick. Then again, I like nearly all of their movies.
What happened to Catherine? Well she got old..
exactly.
Ouch
@@ckotcher1 no woman can beat the wall
She still looks good at 50.
dude the phantom was the WB sunday afternoon movie so often and i loved every bit of it - i, too, now have no idea why
Holy crap!
Judging from that last picture: She is literally sucking the Life Force from Micheal Douglas! Like that space vampire movie ...I can't remember the name of...
I, for one am.....okay with that.
^Also, just watching this thing about Natalie Wood on HBO last night and there is an amazing similarity in these ladies looks.
She could suck the Life Force out of me anytime.
Life Force 2: Catherine Zeta Boogaloo
natalie wood looks nothing like her
Space Vampires by Colin Wilson. Made into Life Force the movie.
Swashbuckling funny my friend .. keep up the good work 🇦🇺🤣🖖
I love her in The Mask of Zorro
And entrapment
I miss seeing her (and other actors of her era for that matter), in movies. The movies were fun. Lots of REAL type action, comedy, acting skill and just overall fun! Forget the end of the world attitude of Hollyweird today, where everything is depressing, world apocalypse comic book stuff. The 80’s of course had fantastic movies. But we forget how many good action and thriller movies the 90’s had. Think of Zeta Jones, Matt Damon, Ben Affleck, Banderas, Woody Harrelson, Snipes and a ton more!
I liked the terminal. She also looked pretty great in it. But, I think her character wasn't really nice in the end, idk can't remember
Love your review funny and informative 🤣👍
I’ve seen articles and stories about her being a complete diva and way past the point of narcissistic.
Absolutely correct
Hello. Im a British Person!
I remember being besotted with CZJ on Darling Buds of May made for ITV then next thing i knew she was in Zorro and Entrapment with Shhhhean Connery! Glad shes not lost her Welsh accent!
A review on the Billy Zane epic "The Phantom" would be a great addition to this library. I loved that move too. The story is good and so is the witty dialogue.
18:36 “stop sniffing money” best line ever 🤣
WHAT??? Is there a second "Zorro" movie??????? When this happenned?????
I love Catherine.
Jo Blo you are so awesome. Thank you for making wasting time on RUclips not so wasting and actually learning some pointless facts.
I liked Intolerable Cruelty. Also I'm pretty sure everybody's least favorite Coen Brothers film is Ladykillers.
When I saw previews for the 1st Zorro I was stunned at how beautiful she was. We were like "Wow, who is That?!"
She became a full-time mum!
