Welcome to Cleburne. I enjoying riding along with you on your adventures. Cleburne has a lot to offer especially on the weekends. We have several museums - Layland Museum, Railroad Museum and Gone With The Wind Museum. Live performances - Plaza Theater, Song Bird Live jazz. Cleburne Stare Park has camping, cowboy singing and star watching. During Christmas time the Park has a Whistlestop Christmas with lots of lights. All kinds of shopping downtown, antiques, coffee shop, book store, candy store, toy store, retail and restaurants. I hope you enjoy your visit in my hometown of Cleburne.
Thanks for all of the tips. I posted a video from Cleburne State Park four or five days ago. I appreciate you checking out the video. I hope you're having a really good evening.
Cleburne has a ton of history. It used to be Camp Henderson during the Civil War. You also passed the oldest standing house in town towards the end! Thanks for hilighting my home town friend, if you ever come back ill give you a tour
Also, the small green building at 13:08 tucked under that grove of trees used to be McGowan's Burger Joint then was bought out by a man named Pete Fortner. He renamed it the Little Onion. My two older sisters worked under both the McGowans and Fortner as carhops back in the 1960's. Very interesting that the building has somehow survived all the changes to the downtown. That building even still has the metal awning that is where the cars pulled up under to get carhop service.
I really enjoyed this drive and chat. Fun hearing your thoughts on the sights. Makes me want to go there for a drive. I loved the deep voice "Hello pretty lady". You made me chuckle. :)
At 16:21 that is the old Cleburne Public Library that was financed by Andrew Carnegie back around the turn of the last century. It was the only public library when I grew up in Cleburne...graduated Cleburne HS in 1975. It eventually turned into a local theater then museum.
I don't think so buddy. I'm in this area a couple more days and then I want to work my way back to Rockport. They will have at least four or five days a cooler weather. It gets hot again I'll takeoff again.
Hahaha!!! I'm just catching this now. Frankie and Dany were making me build new furniture for their office last night when this got posted, so I'm a bit behind. The Cleburne House looks like the place I'll need to stay at when I visit the area someday. Google says it's a B&B. Frankie and Dany are concerned that they don't serve catnip there though. It also looks like it would be fun to make a model of for my layout. There's also a railroad museum in town on Main Street. Thanks for the drive by! 🚂
Good afternoon Jamie. I still have not gone exploring in the downtown area other than that drive. I keep checking out the little towns in the area. Traffic Downtown in Cleburne is pretty intense so it will be a challenge. I probably should've went there Saturday or Sunday when it might not have been as busy. Thank you Jamie!
@@dennis78382 lots of awesome train stuff in this town from what I'm seeing online. I look forward to seeing more of it if you get back there to explore.
Good morning Jamie. There is quite a bit to see in this town and I still haven't explored the downtown area. I plan on going over there in a little bit. I really should've done that on a Saturday or Sunday when it wasn't as crowded as a weekday
Hey Dennis, The cleburne high school football stadium was a CCC PROJECT. Take a closer look at it. There were several scene from the recently released movie.12 mighty orphans filmed there. The white stone building was the U.S. Post office most of my life here, it's now city hall. 👍👍👍
I have stopped and looked at that stadium several times Paul. It's very impressive. That is awesome that it was a CCC project. I figured it was built sometime in that timeframe but I didn't know they actually did it. Thanks for all the information buddy. I hope you guys are having a good night
Great video pal … I was able to ride up to Woodstock yesterday and walk the field for the first time. It was cool to be on the grounds where the stage was and some great musicians. Thanks for the tour!
You are correct sir. Lots of antique stores in all of these little towns that we have gone to. Must be good business. Thanks for checking out the video Ralph. I appreciate it sir
Cleburne always reminds me of High School band bc every year we always went to the invitational Marching Contest there. They had a great stadium/field and it was always a fun trip & we got out of school for the day 😃 I have patches on my old letter jacket from Cleburne ❤️
@@dennis78382 it is impressive inside -like a bowl. It was almost as nice as the UIL field we marched on every year, except Cleburne had real turf and UIL was always artificial, which in my opinion was harder to March on. Some might disagree, but I have marched on many a football field! 😃
Good morning. Thank you so much for the information. I always love it when someone can add positive contact to the videos. Hope you're having a blessed day friend.
Yes sir. I actually talk about that in tomorrow's video. It was 10° hotter here when I checked but 4° less on the heat index. Usually in the mornings it's 15 to 20° less here on the heat index and it's going to be fabulous starting tomorrow night
Well you're going to be disappointed. Those are the videos that I put out every day. I just didn't have the time today so I did a few driving videos. They are quick and easy.

How about a map of Texas to show us the towns you are driving through. Would be nice to see how far you are traveling from Rockport and our city San Antonio...Google maps is NOT good because Google uses your data when searching any of their apps! Great show!!
Thank you very much. I appreciate you watching the channel. I only have one device which is my iPhone 12. Occasionally I will show the navigation system on my truck to give people a general idea. Thanks for the suggestions.
Thank you Leah. I did look real quick and saw that it was a bed and breakfast. I was trying to get the history of the building. I don't think any museum is going to match the ones that Jamie did. I'll probably go to the downtown area tomorrow or the next day. Probably the next day when the cooler weather arrives. Thank you very much Leah

If in your driving excursion you happen to drive on 281 north and you go through Jacksboro, you have to stop at Herd’s Hamburgers. They are fantastic!

I did look inside. The whole one side of the parking lot is fenced in and has a clear view of the field. Looks awesome. Very old-school
The last building where the lady was walking her dog is the Layland Museum.

The building at 13:39 is the original Post Office building that was still functioning until the early 1990's. Now it is just a museum.
