Here's an HONEST review. I just got my Toguard dash cam yesterday and immediately set it up. BUY IT!! This is a great dashcam. The picture quality is excellent. I put a 128gb sd card and it's working great. I tried it out at night and it lights up the car nicely. You can see everyone in the car clearly. Very easy to use. This one is a keeper.
@@Business_News ofcourse you can turn the screen off. As a matter of fact, its automatic. Just select the screen saver option from menu and click on 1 minute, 3 minute or 5 minute. Screen will turn off but it's still recording. That's how I have mine set and passengers have no idea I'm recording.
It has a motion detection option which will switch on the camera to begin recording of something appears in its field of view. This isn't too be confused with the parking mode that you can also switch on as this will switch on of the car is hot whilst parked. The only slight issue there could be with the motion detection one is if you park it on a busy street etc where there's lots of movement as there's only so much reserve power in the capacitor which charges while you drive. I've got a new dashcam video coming soon that features a single 2k camera :amzn.to/3bdQUZG This also has GPS location services too!👍🏻
Hi, Great Video. Just one question, i have ordered it today, but now i am wondering if it works in the dark night without lights. If i park it in quite dark place, will it record outside and inside in visible manner?
Thanks very much, I'm glad you liked it. That's a very good question because the image (when there's no light) does switch to a black and white type night vision although I've never tested it without any Street lights etc but I'll have to check! In the mean time, put a question to the community on the product listing page on Amazon and I'm sure someone will come back with an answer for you 👍🏻 Hope you have a great Christmas 🎄🎅🎁
Thank you very much that's really nice of you to say 😊🤭 I'm really pleased you liked it! I've got a 32gb in mine and that's enough as it will record over the older files when it reaches its limit, plus when it records an incident it you manually hit the lock recording for something then those files are locked and won't be deleted. If you're going to go on a long road trip and want to record the whole trip (of you're making a video etc) then you might need a 64gb card. I'm afraid in that case I don't know the answer but if I were you, you can place a question on the product page on Amazon and other people who have bought it might have the answer. Alternatively you can contact the seller on there and ask them directly. I've also reviewed recently a GPS dashcam that connects to your phone which you might want to check out before you make a decision. Hope the helps and thanks once again for the great comments 😁👍🏻
I just got mine today and when I installed it I updated the date and time and also changed the loop times and turned the screen saver to 30secs however when I turn of the car and power, once I turn it back on again everything reverts back to factory settings except for the date and time which stays updated, can you let me know if I am doing something wrong or is my toguard dash camera faulty?
I must admit that hasn't happened to mine and I can't think why that would happen. If I were you then contact the seller and explain the problem your having and they might be able to tell you if there's a certain setting or if there is an issue with it. Also worth checking the FAQ in the instruction manual as there should be a remedy there.....I stupidly threw mine away. I wish I could be of more help but please keep me posted👍🏻
@Jerry Doughty yes issue all solved just needs the internal battery to be charged so it'll have power to save the settings overall camera is worth the money and I'm actually looking at buying another for my partner
So I've checked the product page on Amazon and it says: "2.We recommend to buy Class 10 or above high speed Genuine Micro-SD card at Amazon's Own or Branded Stores, capacity 32GB." That being said, I'm not sure what will happen if you put a bigger card in to be honest, will it not work at all or will it only store up to 32gb🙃 . Sorry I couldn't help anymore than that.
@@PHANTOM-FX Thanks for the reply, I got the camera yesterday and it works on a 64gb card... have just ordered a second one as well..... will be trying a 128gb card to see if that works too. Very impressed by the camera... accessing and locating the files by date is easy via the pc but not as easy within the camera as you dont get any list or thumbnails... you have to go through every single file... unless I am doing something wrong? Other than that its very good. .
It does automatically turn on of it senses movement. The only thing is if you're parked somewhere where there's alot of movement like a car park or a busy street it will use its internal battery up quickly. There is an option to use the impact sensors instead so that will only initiate after there's movement of the vehicle although the movement would have to be enough to get the sensor to activate.
@@PHANTOM-FX I'm sure it's possible to connect it directly if i made another 12v input with fuse just like cigarette lighter socket so it works 24/7 because I'm sure the current socket disconnect supply after you switch the car off? correct me please if it's wrong to do so it's for 520d bmw
As long as you can connect it to constant power then it will stay on continually. In fact you could use day dashcams at home like CCTV attached to your window which is an idea I've been thinking about as the latest video I did on a GPS dash cam I now have has the ability to connect to your phone so you can view the footage without needing a computer 😁👍🏻
So if I leave my car, engine off, will it still record?? Like will it still be on screen? I know about the motion sensors but I wanted to know how long it can record for whilst the screen is on and no ones in the car
You have to set the option up in settings. The screen doesn't stay on, it's more in standby. When the car senses motion or a collision it will start recording. I'm not sure how long it will record for but it should be enough to cover you while you're parked at work. There's a transistor inside that charges while you're driving which powers it while you're away. Sorry I can't give you anymore details. You can ask a question on the product page on Amazon and the seller might respond 😁
Well it works in that if anyone walked/drove Infront of the car it would record but I didn't experience anyone hitting my car to test that but the motion sensor doesn't take much movement to trigger it both visually and impact. I'd say though if you're on a busy road with lots of movement it will keep turning on to record everything and the internal battery will run out by the morning, unless you plugged it into a power pack to keep it connected.
To be quite honest, both have similarities as well as pros and cons depending on the person. The image quality on both appears to be the same and as far as I can tell, the features seem nearly identical. The main difference that I can see it's that the newer version is quite a bit bigger but due to this it has a bigger screen. I couldn't get the old version out of my car to replace with the newer version. This was because I used the 3M adhesive pads to fix it directly to the windscreen and with the other version you don't get the clear windscreen stickers that you get with the new version to make removing it easier so I had to give up trying to remove it from mine and put the new one in the Mrs car. Don't get me wrong, I could have removed the old one of I had really wanted to, it just wasn't going to be quick. I personally prefer the older version because it takes up less room on the windscreen but at the same time I prefer the design of the newer one. So it's a yes and no answer really. I like both of them for different reasons visually but on specs they are almost identical. The new version also seems to switch into night vision if there isn't any Street lights, so it's easier to see inside the car on the rear camera. Hope this helps 👍🏻
That's very kind of you to say so! I try to make as much effort as possible to produce something that I'd want to see if I was thinking of buying something and wanted a walk through to get a better idea if its something I should get or not. It's great to get comments like yours as it spurs me into make more knowing that the effort is appreciated so thank you! 😊👍🏻
Have you read the instructions yet as it should be fairly simple to play back recordings. Fingers should only really not be able to play back if they are corrupt. Take the card out and try and watch the files on your laptop/PC. If they play on that then there shouldn't be a reason why it won't playback on the device itself. Try formatting the card when it's in the dashcam via the settings. Get a little footage and try and watch that. If they still won't play after that I'd contact the seller and explain your issue as they should provide you with a replacement of the unit is faulty.

I don't think they do, you have to buy it separately. If it says you get one in the product description then contact again and the seller will sort it out but I'm pretty sure I had to buy one, although they aren't expensive these days. Hope that helps
It has motion & collision detection so yes you can. It will turn in if it sees movement (if you switch that setting on) or if something hits your car then it will also turn on and record for you. Hope that helps.
Yes you can.... You can set up a screen time out so that after its turned on when the car is started, it will turn the screen off. You can also press the power button once and that will turn it off but will continue to record. Hope that helps 😁
I leave mine plugged in as the car cuts the power to the 12v charger port when you switch the engine off. Some older cars might not so to test it... Plug in a phone charger and then plug your phone in when it's on. You're phone will naturally start to charge, now turn the engine off and remove the keys and if your phone stops charging then that means no power is going to the 12v point and therefore it's she to leave plugged in.... If not then it's best to unplug it when you park the car 😉 Hope this helps 👍🏻
Also singing good to know, is that the camera has a capacitor that holds a certain amount of charge so that even unplugged then when the motion sensor or parking shock sensor is triggered it turns itself on to record 😁
I'm sorry you didn't like it, mines great so can only assume yours was defective but that company name great dashcams as I've had 3 for mine, my Mrs and my daughter's car and haven't had an issue on any of them. does it turn in white and black infrared mode when is recording in complete dark night no lights or it needs street lights?
It doesn't appear to need additional lighting for inside the car and the headlights illuminate the front camera. Hope that helps
