Neat to see behind the scenes and hear a little about your time with these cars. I'd say any hobby that you enjoy and pays for itself is a huge success. Thanks for sharing!
Enjoyed the update and summary of profits and losses. I’m surprised at how low some of the views were given how much I enjoy your presentation style and content. Glad you ultimately came out ahead and that your Son is OK. You could have been a couple Grand more to the positive if you had not given your Sons friend a deal on the Taurus. Interesting peek under sheets…thanks Chris!
I have been watching you tube for a long time - you are the first one that I have seen that actually gave out your revenue from you tube. Basically, from what I know about you tube - the more subscribers you have the more you can get from you tube. I don't see you are sponsored by anyone like square space or Harbor Freight (which adds to your revenue). For a side hustle and your enjoyment of the cars you buy I'd say if you are breaking even then you are winning!
I'd say you did okay. You didn't just flip the cars, you repaired them so they were safe and reliable so when they were sold to strangers, they got a good vehicle and you could sleep at night knowing that the new owners got a quality auto.
I always love your content Chris. I'm glad your at least in the black on something you obviously love to do. The highest compliment I can give you is that if I lived near you and needed a affordable used car I would buy from you and know it was an honest deal.
I subscribed to ECC b/c I liked your presentation at the auction and the giant STAMP of what the car sold for with X number of bids. I continued to watch your videos as you bought and fixed them up b/c I felt you were a straight shooter. Finally, like stratman 1966 says in his comment, I also would buy a vehicle from you and know it was a honest deal. That says a lot. I'm glad you are in the black financially doing something you enjoy but even better is when you have the respect of a number of viewers across the country.
Thank you for your openness, honesty, and transparency. Glad your son was physically unscathed from the accident. Always enjoy your uploads, here's to more views and awesome rides in the future!
Really enjoyed the summary of the financial aspect of everything. I think your overall profit isn’t bad considering it’s a hobby for you. Most people spend money on hobbies and never get it back so I’d say you’re doing great. If you were running a business it wouldn’t be so great but if your hobby makes you happy and makes a little money here and there, you can’t complain with that.
The RUclips VIP rolling in the big money. Just teasing. I'm glad your son wasn't injured in the hit and run. I think everyone will appreciate you being upfront with the wins and losses. Obviously the full time YT'ers can make decent money from videos but it requires a lot of time and effort. For a hobbyist, it can be fun and like you said it helps to offset some of the cost. I enjoy these updates as I always wonder where did a particular car go to. Especially that Lincoln. Really liked that one...~Pat
If you love what you do, you'll never work a day in your life. You can tell you're enjoying yourself, and we're enjoying watching...so you are well ahead of the game if your hobby is keeping you in the black. Looking forward to the future of your new Crown Vic.
Nice to hear the update. Basically it sounds like your hobby equals a nice little side hustle. I enjoy your videos because they are very informative. I love to see the wins at auction. One of my favorites was the Ford Windstar you got for minimum bid and it actually turned out to be a serviceable vehicle.
I loved your Chevrolet Caprice. When I was younger in Saudi we were driven around in that car. That car for me is absolutely epic and the look and space is great. It is sad they don’t have it in the uk
Thanks Chris for your transparency in what you make off of the cars and the fun you have with them. As someone who was born and raised in Delaware it's good to see some sights
Good stuff. I like you are just a regular 'ole guy, doing videos, cars and making a little extra money while enjoying the family and the American way. Keep it up. You're an inspiration. ....you always seem happy, as well.
I think staying in the black while enjoying yourself and experiencing that many cars that you enjoy is a big win 🥇 Hoping to have the space and liquidity to do this one day. Until then; I’ll be brushing up on my numbers and experiencing the auctions vicariously through you! Thanks for the awesome videos, man. Glad your son is ok 👍
It looks like the same as other You tube channels. Revenue offsets loss on sales. As long as you are having fun producing the content for us. I certainly enjoy watching and learning.
Great video, Chris. Always like your openness about everything. I envy your life. You're doing something you love and you have fun. That's what everyone wants. 🙂
Hi Chris , nice honest video it's interesting to see how you fare on your your car purchases and how much money you make from U Tube views .I always like when you go to Municipal auctions when you look at Police cars and trucks and SUVS .I live up here in Canada and always like going to Police auctions it's fun been doing ever since I was in Highschool..Keep up the great videos Chris .
Enjoyed seeing the results of some of your cars. Always have been curious of what you’ve done with them. When it comes to a hobby, if you enjoy it and actually end up in the black then you’re doing great.
Thanks for sharing, I have very similar interest in cars but have never had the space or money to invest in extra cars. RUclips seems to be far ,more profitable than I thought it would be at your subscription level. What amazes me is the value of the old Dodge/Chrysler products. So many people frown on them but once you drive them they are enjoyable and inexpensive to run.
First, I want to say thanks for putting out content that many of the car people enjoy. Personally, I really enjoy your demeanor and total transparency. Next, I have an idea if you want to increase your views on the RUclips: 1. Get in touch with Tyler Hoover (aka Hoovie's Garage). 2. Have Tyler fly in to town and do a collaboration video with you under the guise that he is your long lost son. You guys can talk about your "fleet of cars" and passion behind what you do. You could even do a "Freaky Friday" segment where the 2 of you switch bodies/voices.
I really loved that Taurus! Very nice of you to sell it at a discounted price for your son's friend. Also, yes, the water pumps are notorious for destroying themselves in the Ford Taurus and Explorer's. I owned my Explorer a month before the pump went out! Lol.
Thanks Chris. Very interesting video. I am glad you get the enjoyment and a few dollars, from making these deals, enjoying these cars and making the video. I really enjoy watching them. Thanks again for all you do.
I love watching your videos and I look forward to new ones premiering. I’m surprised that you took a loss on some of the cars. I also didn’t know you put $5100 into that Cutlass Supreme. Now that you made some room, hopefully you’ll pick up some new auction deals. By the way, I loved that Charger you picked up month’s ago.
chris love your videos you have great content would like to see your videos pickup more revenue at least it softens the financial blows. good to see you thin the heard a little lol
Make a new video talking about your thought process behind the cars you kept and what your plans for the collection are now. Would be cool if astro van got a new paint job (keep it white!) and waxxed. Super clean and cool looking car that is utilitarian!
I say you did great. Cuz I’m looking at the larger picture. You’re extremely good in front of a camera and you belong there. Very few people do. Keep it up and the financial aspect will ultimately take care of itself. Give it some time and remember what I said.
Chris, whether you make a lot of money or not, as long as YOU are content with the outcome is all that matters The personal satisfaction that you derive from your “ Hobby” is all that matters! As a long time viewer and commenter . I am more than entertained and educated with the videos of your exploits, and your commentary is spot on and concise. I for one hope you continue to educate, entertain us and in the process satisfy your own goals and pleasures. Thank you for your efforts and videos Sir.
Wow man, you're kind and thanks so much for the comment. I appreciate all that you said. You know, I treat what I do here on RUclips as a hobby simply because I don't upload enough, provide updates and progressions enough to consider this a job or consider myself an automotive 'RUclipsr'. The hobby prospective also keeps this fun for me and not work. I feel like I want to get more videos uploaded each week but I also don't want to begrudge this either.
It's a good thing this is just a hobby you enjoy because the decision making on purchase price and investment with the end result selling price is not very wise. I enjoy watching your videos regardless.
Thanks for posting and being so honest(-;. My assessment is since you are not a full time youtuber you did well to pick up and extra grand. Thanks for posting!!
thats a good honest Assessment of how things went for you yea some cars you like and some you dont glad to see a nice improvement with that back yard garage area looks real nice ...
I suggest making a few more videos per car in future. Try one with a serious mien, describing what the car is really like to live with over time and an honest appraisal of quirks, downsides, and upsides. Try another of "hooligan" appeal, doing dumb things like donuts, a burnout, taking it to a local track to show what it's like at the limit. And do a final of, "I've had my fun but it's time to let it go," where you sincerely detail everything good and bad about that particular car before you offer it for sale. Your RUclips revenue should increase substantially.
Glad u came out ok money wise. With all the effort and time and money buying , selling and repairing the cars seems like it would be nice to see a bit more money than u received. Obviously, u enjoy what u do which makes a difference also yr audience enjoys, like I do, watching yr videos. I love the Vics too owning one and a Marauder.
its good you made profits. the only real shockers was what you paid for that caprice...i was like WTH that thing was wayyyy over priced in the original video. your worst loss overall was having to toss a motor in the olds. imagine if you didnt need a motor those numbers would have been better. considering its a hobby for you, you did well. the caprice was definitely an emotional purchase in my opinion. you were excited at the time, and went with it. usually you have a really clear head when you look at car prices, knowing values etc.
While you had a net profit, I think sometimes you overpay for cars. That Caprice is a perfect example. If youre doing it as a hobby, then youre doing fine. But one thing you didnt take into account is your overhead. You pay for a extra building now (for awhile now) that adds to your costs. If you have no revenue stream attached to that shop, youre way further in the red than you appear. I would figure your rent for the year divided by those 5 cars and see what your true cost was..
Even though I sounded critical, I just think you should look at the true cost of your (in your own words) hobby. I still love the content and videos, and the types of cars you go after. But when you started renting the building, you said it was because you needed the space, not to start a business,so I assume no money is made in renting it. So those 5 cars had a lot larger cost attached to them to store. At a low estimate of 500 bucks a month, thats 7200 bucks at least a year. Thats another 1440 bucks in costs per car..
Chris, Are you going to sell the white Chevy Astro van? If so, I am very interested in that one to buy from you, just sayin... Thanks for sharing the video.
Good video, very informative. Factor in the entertainment value/fun factor and I think you did well. With scratch off lottery tickets the loss is normally 50%.
I think Chris if it's something you enjoy then any profit is good since you don't live off it or money made from RUclips..now do you do anything different that all depends on your mind frame going forward and you have to look at the full picture on what you do moving forward and take thing's into consideration like we know eventually those prices will keep going down so you don't want to buy high and sell low of course...so what do you do... personally i would keep going to auctions and maybe look at some other things besides vehicles to make money on...lol not boats...maybe bikes or 4 wheelers etc...next maybe keep a code reader with you at all times but either way with vehicles you buy more for what sells versus it's what I want...keep up the good work
I got a 3500 dollar (retail) QuietKat Ranger off road E Bike for 300 bucks at a police auction and sold it for 2500. Did better than I could with a used car. There are all kinds of high priced bikes going for cheap in police auctions.
Good afternoon. This is Ted from Texas. I definitely enjoy watching your videos. I'd still like to know what happened to the Dodge Charger you got I miss that video somewhere. I still want to get one someday. Police package of course. Stay safe see you in the next video
I love your videos and transparency! I'd love to catch an auction in the Cleveland, OH area. Where should I begin my search for government auctions in my area?
Does your "profit" on the Lincoln include storage, and insurance fees as well as lost opportunity costs? I used to have several cars hanging around. The costs add up. I once test drove a new Olds 88. One block into the rest drive, my Wife and i both realized it drove and exactly like her Father's Caprice. We made a U turn. I thought Olds could do better. When my Father in law passed away, we wholsaled the Caprise through a friend. My Wife didn't want anything to do with it. Your son fell in love with a Dodge Avenger? I have a 4 year degree in Insurance and 30 plus years of experience. I always recommend using your own company as you did. They pay and then subrogate( go after) the other party. Any money they get, and they can suspend the license, attach wages etc, goes to reimburse you your deductible. If you didn't get it, ask why..
The Cutlass was never more than a rental car unfortunately. Also it was a rental car I didn't like. The controls on the dash board was too far away from the driver for my tastes.
That Town Car was quite cool. I hope the new owner was happy with it.
Glad your son was ok after that no fault of his accident. Great honest content as usual. 🎉👍
Neat to see behind the scenes and hear a little about your time with these cars. I'd say any hobby that you enjoy and pays for itself is a huge success. Thanks for sharing!
Well said and right on!

I'm still Loving the caprice. I'm so happy I bought it. For a hobby you did good
I'm thrilled for you too and how you've already improved the car beyond what I could do. Kudos my friend!
I'd say you did okay. You didn't just flip the cars, you repaired them so they were safe and reliable so when they were sold to strangers, they got a good vehicle and you could sleep at night knowing that the new owners got a quality auto.
Really like your openness. You made a profit and your demeanor shows your having fun. What a lucky guy.
I always love your content Chris. I'm glad your at least in the black on something you obviously love to do. The highest compliment I can give you is that if I lived near you and needed a affordable used car I would buy from you and know it was an honest deal.

I would have liked to have watched a junkyard vid of the centre console pick and install on the interceptor.

i love your honesty....
greeting max from holland
This was a nice update to the other side of the auctions that you visit.. honesty with your viewers will always pay off.
If you love what you do, you'll never work a day in your life.
You can tell you're enjoying yourself, and we're enjoying watching...so you are well ahead of the game if your hobby is keeping you in the black.
Looking forward to the future of your new Crown Vic.
Hey man, thanks so much for the comment and kind words too. I appreciate that and you watching too!
Green is green.Plus you had the use of the cars for the period you owned them.Keep up the good work.Always enjoy your videos
We all take losses. Its alright, we learn & move on. Money comes & goes.
I loved your Chevrolet Caprice. When I was younger in Saudi we were driven around in that car. That car for me is absolutely epic and the look and space is great. It is sad they don’t have it in the uk
🤣 Can you imagine trying to park it at Tesco's though!
Your videos are humbling and pure. Take all the time you need.
I really couldn't tell if you did bad or good but I really enjoy watching you fool around with these cars and going to the auctions and stuff!
Thanks Chris for your transparency in what you make off of the cars and the fun you have with them. As someone who was born and raised in Delaware it's good to see some sights
Love that you talk prices. Not many youtubers are this frank. Great channel.
Good stuff. I like you are just a regular 'ole guy, doing videos, cars and making a little extra money while enjoying the family and the American way. Keep it up. You're an inspiration. ....you always seem happy, as well.
Glad you’re back Chris 👍
Nice update, Chris. Bit sad to see the Town Car and the Olds go 😉
I think staying in the black while enjoying yourself and experiencing that many cars that you enjoy is a big win 🥇
Hoping to have the space and liquidity to do this one day. Until then; I’ll be brushing up on my numbers and experiencing the auctions vicariously through you!
Thanks for the awesome videos, man. Glad your son is ok 👍
Hey man really enjoy the videos! Love those government walkarounds.
Enjoyed the video! I'd say you enjoyed yourself, had a good time, didn't lose any $$ over all so the small profit you made is all gravy in my book.
Gonna miss that Lincoln, loved those videos. I don’t think I’ve ever seen one with the green / tan combo before.
Watching the vids...priceless. Keep them coming Chris.
Thanks for your honesty on your losses, everyone that buys and sells gets burned at times.
Enjoy the videos and I am glad to hear that the bottom line was in the black!
Hi Chris , nice honest video it's interesting to see how you fare on your your car purchases and how much money you make from U Tube views .I always like when you go to Municipal auctions when you look at Police cars and trucks and SUVS .I live up here in Canada and always like going to Police auctions it's fun been doing ever since I was in Highschool..Keep up the great videos Chris .

thats true....
Absolutely and thanks my friend!
I really loved that Taurus! Very nice of you to sell it at a discounted price for your son's friend. Also, yes, the water pumps are notorious for destroying themselves in the Ford Taurus and Explorer's. I owned my Explorer a month before the pump went out! Lol.
Thanks Chris for every inch of the way. I love your updates, congratulations man on the profits. We look forward to hearing from you soon.
Thanks Chris. Very interesting video. I am glad you get the enjoyment and a few dollars, from making these deals, enjoying these cars and making the video. I really enjoy watching them. Thanks again for all you do.
Awesome video. Keep up with the good spirit !
I hear ya about the Lincoln. I have a 1990 Cadillac Fleetwod and getting in the Corolla after that is like going back to economy class.
Great update. My favorite car was the Lincoln I had an identical one
Your Transparency is incredible! 🤛
Congratulations on almost 50 I subscribers 🎉
chris love your videos you have great content would like to see your videos pickup more revenue at least it softens the financial blows. good to see you thin the heard a little lol
I enjoy your content, and you are just a likeable sort of guy, I don't know why but I just like you. Thank you!!
Good job bro! Thanks for the update we appreciate it so much keep up the good work on the videos love them!
Definitely love the content and this especially.
Great update. Hobbies usually cost big money... You are doing well
Funny to see a younger person buy that '88 Olds. That thing has absolutely no modern electronic "amenities". To me that's a good thing.
Thank you so much and I like how you're thinking! Thanks again.
CAROLVS- Very well said!
@@RustyZipper That’s kind of you. Thanks.
I think it's a lot of hustling for little money but if you enjoy it, that's what's important
Chris, whether you make a lot of money or not, as long as YOU are content with the outcome is all that matters
The personal satisfaction that you derive from your “ Hobby” is all that matters!
Really glad your son was okay. Sorry he had to deal with such a terrible hit and run experience.
Thanks for posting!!
thats a good honest Assessment of how things went for you
yea some cars you like
and some you dont
glad to see a nice improvement with that back yard garage area
looks real nice ...
Hey my friend, great to hear from you and thanks for checking in to. I appreciate the comment as well.
I think you did pretty good on selling those cars chairs.
Thank you for the content, your deals seem to need to interest you, which I think is great, hope you keep it up and more importantly keep enjoying it
Thanks for the update
Glad u came out ok money wise. With all the effort and time and money buying , selling and repairing the cars seems like it would be nice to see a bit more money than u received.
Obviously, u enjoy what u do which makes a difference also yr audience enjoys, like I do, watching yr videos.
I love the Vics too owning one and a Marauder.
You could have made more videos on each vehicle with details of any repairs and cleaning.
So you bought some cool cars, had some good times, and made a bit of profits.
Great!
Keep enjoying those rides that you fined , and you passed them too new person that will drive them . Keep rocking the open road .
Love the breakdown
Great update. I know first hand on the csr hoarding.
Great info. Thanks for providing it for us.
Great video I think you did good buddy
I was actually able to find your cutlass supreme listing completely by chance a couple weeks ago. Was pretty neat.
Dude, that's pretty funny that you saw the listing on Facebook for that Olds Cutlass. Kinda helps make the world just a little smaller.
its good you made profits. the only real shockers was what you paid for that caprice...i was like WTH that thing was wayyyy over priced in the original video. your worst loss overall was having to toss a motor in the olds. imagine if you didnt need a motor those numbers would have been better.
considering its a hobby for you, you did well. the caprice was definitely an emotional purchase in my opinion. you were excited at the time, and went with it. usually you have a really clear head when you look at car prices, knowing values etc.
Dude, it's like you just stepped into my head and you're reading my thoughts.
While you had a net profit, I think sometimes you overpay for cars. That Caprice is a perfect example. If youre doing it as a hobby, then youre doing fine. But one thing you didnt take into account is your overhead. You pay for a extra building now (for awhile now) that adds to your costs. Anytime you make money from a hobby your a head of the game.
Always thought the caprice of that Era was very dated looking. And I remember them when they were new.
If you can make any money enjoying your hobby , It's a win win !
Thank you for letting us know about the money you make off of RUclips. I’ve always wanted to know what it was like
Chris,
Are you going to sell the white Chevy Astro van? If so, I am very interested in that one to buy from you, just sayin...
Thanks for sharing the video.
Good video, very informative. Factor in the entertainment value/fun factor and I think you did well. With scratch off lottery tickets the loss is normally 50%.
Well said!
I take it as a win. Your hobby hasn't cost you any money!!😂

I loved that car too!
MIGHT HAVE SOLD FOR MORE IF IT HAD THE 5.7 LITRE.
Hope you are doing well right sorry about the cars buddy
Are you going to start making more videos per car? Each repair can be its own video and pay for said repair.
Hard work and little income,,, Thank you
What’s up Chris!!!
Hey my man and thanks for checking out the video today!
The Cutlass was never more than a rental car unfortunately. Also it was a rental car I didn't like. The controls on the dash board was too far away from the driver for my tastes.
